A seven year old Blaine whined at the letters in his hands. "Kurt, we aren't in the same class!"
"No!" Kurt yelled. "We have to be. We're in Sunday School together, it's only fair."
Elizabeth brought out three glasses of lemonade and sat next to them on the step.
"Mom, this isn't fair."
"I know, Kurt, honey. But you guys will still have lunch together and gym and art."
"We have to sit with our class at lunch," Blaine interjected.
"I'm sorry, boys. It'll be good for you, though,"
Mrs. Anderson came down the staircase and saw the looks on their faces. "Why so blue?"
Blaine threw the letters at her, annoyed.
"Woah there, grumpy pants. Elizabeth is right, though. It'll help you. I promise."
"Okay, Mom." Blaine sighed.

School was torture for the boys without each other. Boys taunted them because they liked playing with girl things.
Blaine made no friends in his class. There was this snobby Rachel girl who kept talking to him, though. Whenever they sang a song, she sounded really good and she could dance, but she thought she was better than everyone else.
Kurt made one, her name was Mercedes. She caught his eye in a hot pink tutu the first day. They spent lunch together, but Kurt was always sharing secret giggles with Blaine as he tried to drown out Rachel.
One day, Rachel approached him. "So are we like, dating yet?"
"Uh, no." Blaine took his composition notebook out of his cupboard. ‘Oh god,' he thought. ‘That better not be what she thinks.'
"We should be." Rachel grabbed his hand, but Blaine pulled away.
"I don't want a girlfriend. I just want my best friend, Kurt."
"Are you guys dating?"
"What?! That's not right, is it?"
"I would hope it is. I have two gay dads."
"What's gay?"
"It means that boys like boys."
"Oh, I see. I don't know if I like boys. My mom says that's wrong."
"Don't listen to her," Rachel patted his shoulder and began to walk away. "She has to love you, right? She's your mom."
Blaine considered that for a moment. When he got home that day, Kurt came upstairs with him. It was a Friday, the night before their birthday. Rachel and Mercedes were coming over on Saturday, so the boys had a sleepover at Blaine's that night.
"Kurt?"
"Yeah?"
"Have you ever heard of being gay?"
"I dunno what that means."
Blaine paused. "It means when boys like boys."
"Yeah, my mom and dad told me about that two years ago. I think it was the day we started kindergarten. Why?"
"My mom says it's wrong in God's eyes."
"My mom says that God loves everyone and he makes gay people that way."
"So who's right?"
"I dunno."
"Me neither."
They stayed silent and went to sleep.

Kurt and his mom got Blaine a Ken doll that was wearing a bow tie. He knew Blaine wanted it and that his mom would definitely not buy it for him. Kurt wrote a special letter for him, too. They had just learned about letters in school.
Blaine got Kurt a bunch of princess coloring and sticker books. He'd exchanged the monster truck ones for those when his mother wasn't looking. Blaine had also written a letter.
Rachel got both of the boys a rainbow bracelet and wrote a note explaining the meaning.
Mercedes got Blaine a clip on bow tie and Kurt a pair of black suspenders that she knew he wanted.
Kurt got an easy bake oven, a toy sewing machine, beads, and a scrapbooking kit from his parents.
Blaine got trucks, a book about sharks, and a remote control car from his parents.
Kurt promised they could share his toys later.

Oh! This is good! More?
Thank you! :D I'm actually in the process of writing more at this moment. I don't know if it'll be depressing, though, because I'm sort of in a depressed mood lol.
