Author's Notes: The song at the beginning is 'Sophomore' by Darren Criss. The song that the Warblers sing is 'Just Dance' by Lady Gaga.
I've got a t-shirt on from you
Your record's all I listen to
I drop your name with all my friends
Ain't it a shame that it's pretend

And I'm pretty sure that one day you will meet me
And you will see just how cool I am
But for now, I'm just for now,
I'm stuck as
A sophomore
A sophomore
A sophomore
No no no no no

It's too bad I'm only 16
I wanna rock that high school movie scene
I was thinking that like maybe we could chill tonight
We could watch The Breakfast Club, is that alright?
And I'm pretty sure that one day you will meet me
And you will see that look in my eye.
But for now I'm blinking and I don't know why.
I'm a sophomore
A sophomore
A sophomore
No no no no no

My closet's exploded from the color blast,
A blast I'll have for you.
My mother, she's noting all these colors clash,
The Clash, I like them too!
My braces are freezing over,
I'm shaking for you.
I can't wait 'till this is over,
Then I'll fall in love with you.

I got a "How ya doing baby?" from you
How I wish that I could say that too
It's no wonder that you're underneath my skin
I haven't let you out since I let you in

And I'm pretty sure that one day
You will leave me here alone to find someone new.
And I'll be looking back, I'll be looking down
On the love attack, and turn around
I'll be looking back on...

A sophomore
A sophomore
A sophomore
No no no no no
I'll be
A sophomore
A sophomore
A sophomorer
No no no no no

Blaine Anderson had only been at Dalton for two weeks, and those had been the best two weeks of his life. Although he had transferred halfway through his sophomore year, he had finally managed to find somewhere where he could blend in, be who he wanted to be and not be scared every day. It was heaven. Each morning, he proudly put on the navy blue blazer and fastened his stripy tie, smiling to himself in the mirror. Every day was a good day for Blaine Anderson now that he was here.

When before it used to be his most hated part of the day, Blaine now looked forward to lunchtime as much as every other normal high school kid. He sat in his math class, tapping his foot along with the ticking of the clock. It was all very High School Musical. Finally the bell sang out its shrill tune, and Blaine gathered up his books and joined the rush of boys to the choir room. Today was extra special for Blaine. Today was the day he saw the Warblers.

Blaine had been waiting to see the Warblers sing since his first day at Dalton. They were the school’s acapella choir, and to anyone outside Dalton’s walls that might seem a bit… weird. But to Blaine, and pretty much all of Dalton’s student body, the Warbler’s were rock stars. And Blaine wanted to be a rock star.

He followed the stream of boys and ended up squished into the choir room. Most of the friends he had made were actually in the Warblers, but he wasn’t completely alone. Positioning himself next to Aiden, a tall, blonde haired boy that he shared several classes with, he waited with baited breath.

“What’s up with you, new kid? You look like you’re about to explode with excitement!”

Blaine looked back at Aiden.

“The Warblers are performing. It’s exciting, right?”

Blaine allowed himself one little jump. Aiden just laughed and shook his head. He was about to respond when several voices filled the room, causing every single boy to stop talking.

Dadadadadadadadadadadada…

Red One… Konvict…

Warbler! Oh-oh!

A boy in an impeccable Dalton uniform, with coiffed chesnut hair and the most beautiful eyes Blaine had ever seen walked forwards, stopping when he was in front of the others and smirking slightly. Blaine blinked.

I’ve had a little bit too much,
All of the people start to rush
(Start to rush by)
How does he twist the dance? Can’t find a drink, oh man,
Where are my keys? I lost my phone, phone.

Blaine was utterly entranced by the boy as he danced around in front of the Warblers. He didn’t seem to have a care in the world, or that he was singing Lady Gaga in front of a room full of guys. Blaine didn’t think he’d be able to do that.

What’s going on on the floor?
I love this record, baby, but I just can’t see straight anymore,
Keep it cool; what’s the name of this club?
I can’t remember but it’s alright, a-alright!

Just dance! Gonna be ok.
Da-da-doo-doom
Just dance, spin that record, babe
Da-da-doo-doom
Just dance, gonna be ok
D-d-d-dance, dance, dance,
Just, j-j-just dance!

Blaine watched the Warblers as they continued to prance around the room, singing and dancing. He was completely in awe. The lead singer saw him staring, and winked at Blaine. Blaine was sure his mouth fell open a little bit. The song ended with the Warblers all standing with their heads down, and the room exploded with applause. Blaine clapped so hard that his hands began to hurt a little.

“Blaine! What did you think?”

Wes and David, his two best friends at Dalton came running up smiling. Blaine looked at them confusedly for a moment, before realizing that they too were in the Warblers. He had been completely distracted by the lead singer.

“It was great, you were great, everything was great!”

They laughed.

“Um… What’s the lead singer called?”

“Kurt Hummel… He’s a junior though, Blaine, so don’t get any ideas…”

“Uh huh…”

Blaine wasn’t listening to his friends. In fact was staring at the few older Warblers who remained chatting in the middle of the room. Or, to be more specific, Kurt Hummel. Blaine repeated the name over and over in his mind, deciding that he liked it. And that he liked Kurt very much indeed.
