If I took the stairs it would be healthier, plus I'd have more time to think about what the hell I'm going to do when I get there, but what if I get out of breath? And then I'm all huffing and puffing in front of Blaine. And I might even-
Kurt's thoughts got interrupted by the 'ding' of the elevator doors opening.
Elevator it is, Kurt thought. He stepped inside and watch the doors close in front of him. It was like the simple elevator music was mocking him. 'HA! Look how simple I am, this is how simple life can be when you're not banging the teacher!'
Kurt shook the thought from his head. He wasn't banging the teacher... he was doing inappropriate things with the teacher... which is... so much better... right?
He kept taking deep breaths for the short two-floor ride he had before the doors opened again onto the second floor. He closed his eyes briefly and stepped into the corridor.
“247. 247. 247.” Kurt repeated aloud in a voice barely above a whisper. He kept walking down the corridor, which seemed like the world's longest hallway. Seriously, he should come back and measure that thing!
“247.” Kurt said when he was standing directly outside of Blaine's apartment. He used his left hand to nervously grab onto the strap of his leather messenger bag and used his right hand the knock three times quietly on Blaine's door.
“Hi!” a girl said, answering the door.
“Oh... Um, I think I have the- the wrong apartment, I'm sorry to have both-”
“No, you have the right place, you're Kurt, right?” she asked, motioning him to come inside. He smiled awkwardly at her and did so with a small nod. “Great! I'm Amy, Blaine's best friend and neighbour.” They shook hands. Kurt was shocked. He didn't expect anyone else to be here because... well, because he didn't expect anyone else to know.
“Kurt, hi,” Blaine breathed out, coming in from another room. Kurt smiled instantly when he saw Blaine. He was dressed more casually than normal school days. He had dark wash slim-leg jeans on with a grey fluffy jumper and no gel, or at least a lot loss gel than normal. Kurt decided he liked his hair better that way.
“Hi,” Kurt replied, still clutching his bag.
“So I'm guessing you already met Amy,” Blaine joked, and Kurt nodded. “She was the one that invited you over.”
Suddenly Kurt's stomach fell and turned into knots. Blaine didn't invite him? What if he didn't want him to be here? It was all this strange girl's fault! What if-
“But I'm glad she did.” Blaine smiled again.
What if- what was I saying? Kurt thought.
“Well, I'm going to get the snacks and movies, I'll be back soon.” Amy smiled and bounced out of the apartment, leaving just Blaine and Kurt alone.
“So... um, I'm sorry about her, I just- I had to confide in someone you know? She's my best friend, I trust her.” Kurt nodded.
“No, I totally get it, I'm the same,” Kurt confessed. Blaine's face scrunched up in confusion.
“Wait- what do you mean?” Blaine asked.
“I need someone to confide in too.”
“You told Mercedes?” Blaine asked. Kurt nodded in a 'duh' way. Blaine ran his fingers through his hair, causing his free curls to bounce around. “How could you do that?”
“Excuse me? You told Amy,” Kurt said, defending himself.
“Yeah, but I can lose a lot more than you if this goes bad.”
“I can trust her just as much as you can trust Amy, Blaine. And by bad you mean... public?”
“No, I mean if we ever broke up and you got mad you coul-”
“Broke up?! Blaine! We're not even together! And if you think that I or any of my friends would blackmail you or anything like that then clearly you don't know me and maybe we should just leave this now.” Kurt said, raising his voice a little. He let out a deep breath and the room fell silent.
“I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that, I guess I'm just... paranoid or something.” Blaine sighed. Kurt looked to the ground. “Hey, I'm sorry,” Blaine repeated in a whisper, moving closer to Kurt and demolishing the distance between them. Kurt looked up at Blaine's face, a lot closer now, and smiled a little.
“So... what are we watching?” Kurt asked, a small smile still on his lips. Blaine laughed a little.
“I don't know, whatever Amy picks I guess, it's probably going to be really bad though,” he joked.
“Well... we could always do... something else,” Kurt smirked. Blaine's eyebrows raised as Kurt leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on Blaine's lips and wrapped his arms around Blaine's stomach, clasping his hands together behind his back.
“How about today we just... watch movies,” Blaine said. He cared about Kurt and wanted to get to know him. He wasn't lying about thinking about them breaking up. He'd gone over it a thousand times, and they all start w ith them actually getting together.
Amy returned soon after and they grabbed a couple blankets from Blaine's cupboard and laid them out on the sofa, getting comfy as Amy put in the first DVD. She decided it was a musical day so she put in Hairspray.
“Zac Efron is so hot!” Amy announced.
“Oh God, I know!” Kurt replied. Blaine looked at him and Kurt smiled a little.
“I'm starting to really like you, kid,” Amy replied without taking her eyes off the screen. Blaine's arm snaked it's way around to Kurt's chest and he pulled him back until Kurt was resting on Blaine. Kurt was now almost lying down, he raised his hands and used one to hold Blaine's hand and the other to rest on Blaine's arm, playing with the small hairs on it.
“Well, I'm going to get going I think, I havent had sex in like... 17 hours,” Amy said, after realising that Kurt and Blaine would probably want to be alone. Blaine laughed and Kurt flushed.
“See you around, kid,” Amy smiled. “You too idiot,” she said kissing the top of Blaine's head. She picked up a bag of skittles before leaving Blaine's apartment. The sound of Hairspray was still playing in the background.
“So about what I said before.” Blaine started.
“Hmm?” Kurt asked, trying to remember was Blaine was talking about.
“About us, you know... breaking up, and you said that we weren't even together,” Blaine started and felt Kurt nod into his chest. “Well you know... what if... we were?” Blaine asked.
“We were... what?” Kurt asked, kind of understanding what Blaine was trying to say but still really wanting to hear him actually say it.
“You know, together. What if like, we were together, is that something you would... be interested in?” Blaine asked.
“I don't know, I mean... are you asking?” Kurt asked, sitting forward off Blaine and turning so he could look at him. Blaine smiled.
“Yeah, I guess I am.” Blaine confessed. Kurt smiled.
“Well then, yeah, yes.” Kurt answered, holding back his inner screaming.
Things were finally going his way.
