“I don’t know, probably – why?” Quinn turned to face Kurt looking at him with suspicious brown eyes.
“Because he’s cute and won’t take my number. I don’t think it’s because he doesn’t like me, he’s just... I don’t know.” His friend rolled her eyes dramatically.
“And you think turning up at his work place is going to help?”
“Well, I don’t know, he just – “
“No, Kurt. Just nothing. From what I can see he’s been nothing but an Ass, except for a few seconds with Ava. Apart from the way he looks why exactly are you interested in him?” Quinn had her patented ‘No Nonsense’ face on, more commonly seen when Ava was around. Kurt took a steadying breath.
“I don’t know, there’s something about him, behind all that macho bull. He wasn’t just nice with for the sake of it with Ava, he seemed genuinely interested in talking to her, even though he was exhausted. There’s more to him, I know it.” He lowered his hand from where he had been flailing as he spoke.
“Kurt, you’ve done this before. Those are almost the exact words you used about Jake. You need someone more permanent than that. For your sake, and Ava’s.” Kurt narrowed his eyes at her. She knew he hated it when she brought Ava into it.
“It’s not like that. I kind of knew what Jake was like, it wasn’t like Blaine. Blaine has something.” Quinn raised an eyebrow at him.
“Yes I’m sure he does.” She grinned at him as he slapped her playfully, they soon dissolved into uncontrollable giggles and sat back against the dozen or so cushions against the sofa.

Blaine was three drinks down by the time Joe arrived. He was exhausted from his shift and just needed to relax. Joe slumped into the chair next to him, a dopey grin spread across his thin face in stark contrast to the dark eyes, high cheekbones and dreadlocked bad-boy image he projected. Blaine didn’t even spare him a look, not wanting to encourage the sappy story he was sure to receive if he did.
“Blaine?” Blaine kept his gaze fixated on the glass in front of him; seeing it was mournfully empty... again.
“Bllaaiine!” Joe was now prodding Blaine in the side.
“Blaine!”
“WHAT!” Blaine span round in his chair, shooting Joe a deadly look.
“I wanna talk to you and you’re being all moody.” Joe pouted comically.
“Maybe I don’t want to talk.” Blaine sat back down and pushed the glass towards the bar tender.
“Well, sucks for you. I’m just gonna talk at you then. So I met with Quinn again and we talked, I mean talked, Blaine, like really talked. For hours. She’s really cool man, she just doesn’t judge me at all. I really like her.” He looked at Blaine who simply nodded his head.
“So? Do something about it then. Instead of sitting here annoying me.” Joe seemed to think for a minute.
“What about Kurt?” Joe took a sip of his drink.
“What about him?”
“Well, it’s kind of obvious you like him. Quinn says you’re avoiding him.”
“What the hell has it got to do with her. I don’t get involved with people like Kurt Joe, you know that. You know why. So just drop it, and tell Quinn to drop it. It’s nothing to do with anyone OK?” Bliane drained his glass paid for his drinks and left without saying another word to Joe. He walked moodily back to his apartment mulling things over in his head.
