Kurt was walking down the small road and adjusted his bag strap that was draped over his shoulder.
He was due to be meeting Rachel at a small bookstore downtown called “Second Time Around.”
Kurt reached the small store and was almost captivated by it. From the outside it seemed incredibly cosy and inviting, like one of those stores that gives you a blast of warmth in the winter.
He entered the small store, a small bell ringing on the doorframe as he did, and assessed the interior of it. Bookshelves lined each wall and were stacked neatly with a range of books, at the back there seemed to be another room which looked to have a large seat and piles of books inside.
Above all these bookcases were posters, old, yellowing photographs and a few comic book covers.
Near the door was a desk which had a large leather chair behind and what seemed to be a beanbag next to that. A silver laptop was on the desk and a book was lying beside it. The whole place smelled of coffee, it was just as cosy as Kurt had been expecting.

Rachel walked in a few minutes later and they took a seat in the room at the back, both pulling out a notebook and a pen.
"Right, well I need something on classical music, and you need something on fashion?" Rachel asked as a man ran down the staircase beside the room they were in. He was holding a cup of coffee and was running a hand through his hair before sitting down at the desk, clicking his fingers quietly and letting out a low whistle.
The two students then proceeded to watch a black and white border collie run past the doorway and sit beside the man, gazing up at him – Mans Best Friend.
He only then realised that there were two people in the store too.
"Oh, hi! Uh, If you need any help with anything just ask." he said with a smile, catching Kurt’s eye before turning back to his laptop, letting his right hand fall down and stroke the dogs head as he typed.
Twenty minutes later, Rachel had finished and had picked up three books. She walked over to the desk and smiled at the man. Kurt took this time to assess him.
He had curly black hair - slightly too long, but the style suited him. He was wearing a hoodie and grey t-shirt along with a pair of jeans and a pair of thick rimmed black glasses.
He seemed to be shorter than Kurt, maybe 5'6 or 5’7.
He was fiddling with a guitar pick as he looked up at Rachel and started to talk to her, flicking through a different notebook before saying something to Rachel who opened her purse and handed over the money.
"You coming?" she asked, standing at the doorway of the small room with a little smile on his face.
"No, I haven't finished yet." Kurt said, looking up from the book he had on his lap.
"Well, text me when you get back to your apartment so I know you didn't die on your way home." she said with a wink before skipping towards the door in typical Rachel Berry style.

"Hey, I was just wondering...would you like a cup of coffee or something?" a voice came from the doorway, shocking Kurt.
"Oh, um..." Kurt stammered as he looked up at the man who was smiling.
"I mean, I just know that coffee is sometimes a good thing to drink when you're studying." he continued, waving his hand slightly.
"Yeah, yeah that'd be great thank you." Kurt said with a smile as the man nodded and made his way up the staircase again.
Five minutes later, Kurt was holding a hot cup of coffee in his hands whilst he took a break from looking at a few books.
"I'm Blaine by the way, Blaine Anderson." the curly haired man - sorry, Blaine - said and held out his hand for Kurt to shake.
The hand was slightly calloused – definitely a guitarist, Kurt told himself.
"Kurt, Kurt Hummel." Kurt said with a smile.
"I'll um, I’ll leave you to do your studying then, if you want anything just call through." Blaine told him before backing up and whistling again, Kurt watched the fluffy dog bound towards the curly haired boy.
Kurt smiled as he sipped at his coffee and finished his writing.

"Hey, I hope you don't mind that I kinda did all my work here instead of at home." Kurt said as he handed over his money for the books and shrugging on his coat.
"Its fine, it's nice to see that young people want to use books rather than the Internet for once." Blaine said, "oh wow, that made me sound really old." he chuckled and Kurt grinned.
"I'm sure I'll be back sometime soon, especially if you'll make me a wonderful cup of coffee again." Kurt said with a wink before opening the door and walking out.
Kurt only just realised that he had basically flirted with the shorter man, but he so far hadn't stopped smiling.
Of course the pink on his cheeks were from the warm cup of coffee, he wasn't blushing...of course not.
