"Blaine Anderson, what do you mean you've never seen Moulin Rouge?"
Kurt was sitting on Blaine's bed, legs criss-crossed, staring at Blaine as if he'd just done something extremely blasphemous. Blaine smiled in amusement at Kurt's utter disgust as he closed the door to his dorm room. He slid out of his dress shoes and hung his Dalton blazer haphazardly across a chair closeby. He continued to change into more comfortable attire as he answered.
"I don't know," he admitted casually, obviously not understanding the severity of the situation, "I guess I just never really got into it. I've never really liked the grand, romantic musicals full of cheesy love ballads and a happily ever after ending and-"
Kurt waved his hands in the air and scrunched his face up as if Blaine's words brought him physical pain. "Oh my god! Oh my god, oh my god you don't even know what you're missing!" Blaine plopped down beside Kurt now, the springs of the mattress screeching in protest. Kurt faltered for a moment at their closeness, and the fact that Blaine was now in nothing but a tank top and pajama pants, but continued on his rant after a moment. "Moulin Rouge is not allcheesy love ballads or whatever, it's about sacrifice and hardship and just... doing anything to be with the person you love. It's about- god, y'know what?"
Kurt scooted across the bed and reached down to grab his laptop. He sat facing Blaine (who was now stretched out on the bed and propping his head up with one hand and looking very bemused) as he began typing in his netflix account information. Once he was set, he turned the screen around to face Blaine and laid down beside him, putting the laptop between them.
"Kurt, we have to finish that Calculus. That's why you came up to my room-"
"Shh!" Kurt warned in response. "The love story of Christian and Satine takes precedent over math homework!" Kurt didn't mention the fact that he'd already finished half of it anyway and was just using it as an excuse to come to Blaine's dorm. But hey, Blaine had a single and Kurt's roommate was always sneaking his girlfriend in to make out four feet away from Kurt's bed so Blaine's room was a much better atmosphere to do homework in anyway.... plus he may or may not be totally in love with this over-gelled, singing, dancing hobbit... so there was that.
To Kurt's relief, Blaine just shook his head and chuckled before turning back to the tiny laptop screen.
-----
127 minutes later, Kurt sniffled and wiped a tear away before it fell. He glanced over to Blaine, hoping he hadn't caught Kurt's moment of weakness only to find him teary-eyed and snotty-nosed, staring mesmerized at the laptop. It was only when the credits started rolling that he looked over to Kurt and quickly started wiping away the evidence. Kurt supposed he hadn't noticed Blaine sobbing because he himself had been whimpering a lot toward the end. The fact that Blaine had apparently bawled through it was both amusing and adorable to him.
Blaine quickly sat up and turned his head so that Kurt couldn't see most of his face. "Um good-" the shorter boy quickly cleared his throat when his voice cracked, "good movie..."
Kurt was kind of glad Blaine wasn't facing him, because he didn't have to hide the beaming smile that spread across his entire face. It was partly because of the fact that Blaine was being irresistably cute as he tried to play the tough guy who didn't cry at movies, and partly because Kurt realized that being the first one to watch Moulin Rouge with Blaine, it was an experience he had all to himself. Having anything of Blaine all to himself made his heart flutter with joy.
Kurt stood up and started packing his stuff up.
"Where are you going?" Blaine inquired with an urgency that startled Kurt. He turned around to see the splotchy cheeked, bloodshot eyed Blaine sitting on the bed and staring at Kurt in shock.
"It's almost curfew," Kurt remarked simply.
"Oh," Blaine uttered in, if Kurt hadn't known any better, disappointment. Kurt was about to ask what was wrong when Blaine looked down at his watch and suddenly added, "Wait, it's actually past curfew."
Kurt checked the time on his phone. "Shit," he muttered, not sure what to do.
"Well, you can't go out now," Blaine offered. Kurt looked up in surprise, unsure if he understood entirely what Blaine was suggesting. "And besides, I'll never get that Calculus done without your help."
Kurt smiled nervously and threw his books back on the ground.
