As soon as the bell rang, signalling the end of school, Kurt and Blaine ran from their respective classes to the choir room, desperate to see each other, even though they would still have to pretend as Quinn would be there too. Blaine got there first, taking a seat next to Finn. Finn leaned over and whispered to Blaine,
"When are you going to tell them?"
"I was thinking of doing a Glee sleepover thing" Blaine whispered back. "On a day that Quinn will definitely be busy on"
"Sounds good" Finn nodded. "We can invite them over to ours and we can all sleep in the living room"
Blaine opened his mouth to reply, but any words that he was going to use left him as Kurt walked into the room. Is it possible that he looked more stunning than he had that morning? He glanced at Blaine, his eyes sad as he sat in the first empty space he saw, away from Blaine. Mr Schue walked in, late as always, and clapped his hands together.
"Okay guys, so I was thinki - yes Blaine?" he stopped short as Blaine raised his hand.
"I was wondering if I can sing something that I've been working on" he said.
"Of course" Mr Schue smiled, happy to have someone other than Rachel perform.
"This song is for somebody who recently came into my life, but has now left it"
At the last sentence, he glanced at Quinn, who wore a smug look on her face.
Every night I remember that evening, the way you looked when you said you were leaving
The way you cried as you turned to walk away
The cruel words and the false accusations
The mean looks and the same old frustrations
I never thought that we'd threw it all away, but we threw it all away
And I'm a little bit lost without you, and I'm a bloody big mess inside
And I'm a little bit lost without you
This ain't a love song, this is goodbye
This ain't a love song this is goodbye
I've been lost I've been out I've been losing
I've been tired I'm all hurt and confusion
I've been mad I'm the kind of man that I'm not
I'm going down I'll be coming back fighting
I may be scared and a little bit frightened
But I'll be back I'll be coming back to life
I'll be coming back to life
And I'm a little but lost without you
And I'm a bloody big mess inside
And I'm a little bit lost without you
This ain't a love song this is goodbye
This ain't a love song this is goodbye
Oh, and you can try
And you can try but you'll never keep me down
And you can try
And you can try but you'll never keep me down
La la la la la la la la la
And I'm a little bit lost without you
And I'm a bloody big mess inside
And I'm a little bit lost without you
This ain't a love song this is goodbye
It's alright, cause you can try but you'll never keep me down
It's alright, I may be lost but you'll never keep me down
You can try, you can try but you'll never keep me down
You can try, I may be lost but I'm waiting to be found
You'll never keep me down
You'll never keep me down
Never keep me down
The music faded down to silence, and everyone clapped, turning round and glaring at Kurt, who Blaine had been looking at for the duration of the entire song. When he sat down, he looked at Kurt, who looked back at him with sad eyes, playing along. Blaine scowled at him, resisting the temptation to wink and give him a small smile. Instead, he simply turned to face the front and pretended to listen to Mr Schue talking about Sectionals.
" - and Blaine will duet"
Blaine's eyes went wide as he heard the words leave Mr Schue's lips. Who was he dueting with?
"Sorry, what?" he asked.
"I said that you and Kurt will duet for Sectionals" Mr Schue repeated. "Come up with some good ideas and get back to me on what you'd like to perform"
Kurt and Blaine gaped at him, keeping up appearances.
"We can't do that!" Kurt yelled, although he was secretly thrilled, and judging by the way that Blaine's right leg was bouncing as it always did when he got excited, he was too.
"Yes you can" Will argued. "I think that your voices would go really well together. It's either duet with Blaine or no duet"
Kurt rolled his eyes and sat back in the chair, not wanting to push it any further as he really did want to sing with Blaine.
"Alright then" Will nodded. "Kurt and Blaine will duet"
~~~~~~~~~~
Kurt and Blaine drove home as quickly as possible. They reached the house at the same time and got inside as soon as they could. Once the door was closed behind them, they were in each other's arms, clinging to each other tightly.
"I hated today" Blaine whispered in Kurt's ear.
"Me too" Kurt whispered back. "Nice touch with the song by the way. Your voice was beautiful"
Blaine blushed and ducked his head. "I just really like that song"
"Just to be clear" Kurt said, cupping Blaine's face in his hands. "I'm never saying goodbye to you"
Blaine's eyes filled with tears and he pressed their lips together. "I love you so much" he breathed.
"I love you too" Kurt whispered, kissing him back. "I've missed you so much today. Cuddle and a movie?"
"Sounds perfect" Blaine smiled. "But can we use the TV in your room? There's more room to cuddle on your bed"
"Of course" Kurt grinned, taking Blaine's hand as they walked upstairs. "What do you want to watch?" he asked as he bent down to look through his DVD collection.
Blaine's eyes immediately went to Kurt's ass. He bit his lip, and followed it with his eyes as Kurt turned round and - shit. He looked up and saw Kurt standing there, hands on hips and eyebrows raised.
"Busted" he sing-songed, smirking.
Blaine blushed, embarrassed at being caught.
"Aww, don't be embarrassed" Kurt laughed, seeing Blaine's blush. He climbed into his lap and wrapped his arms around his neck. "It's not as if I've never checked you out" he whispered in his ear.
Blaine blushed harder, burying his face in the crook of Kurt's neck.
"Since when are you embarrassed about this kind of stuff?" Kurt teased, poking Blaine's side. "First you're all cute and shy, then you're like some crazed sex fiend, and now you're cute and shy again? You confuse me sometimes Blaine Anderson"
Blaine lifted his head and pouted. "I stopped being cute?"
Kurt leaned forward and kissed the pout away. "Never" he whispered, kissing him once more. "You are the most adorable person on the planet, and you somehow manage to pull off being the sexiest too. You're perfect. I love you"
"I love you too" Blaine beamed, wrapping his arms around Kurt's waist. They leaned in at the same time and their lips met in a gentle, loving kiss. "When do your parents get back?"
"Not sure" Kurt replied, cuddling as close to Blaine as possible. "Dad never said, he just said that they were going to be a few days. I would say any time between today and Wednesday"
"Mmm, I kinda hope it's either tomorrow or Wednesday, I just want to spend time with my boyfriend right now" Blaine hummed.
"Me too" Kurt smiled, kissing Blaine's cheek and hopping off his lap.
Blaine whined and reached out for Kurt, trying to pull him back. Kurt laughed and knelt down to find a movie. "You distracted me and I forgot to get a movie" he explained, standing up and holding a DVD box.
Blaine's eyes widened and he gulped. "Scream?" he asked, his voice an octave higher than usual.
"It's not scary, I promise" Kurt smiled, popping it into the DVD player and sitting back up on the bed. Blaine immediately cuddled into Kurt's side, whimpering as the movie started and the sound of a woman screaming could be heard. Kurt chuckled and wrapped an arm around Blaine, pulling him as close as possible.
"Kurt, you know that I hate scary movies" Blaine whined.
"I promise, it's hardly that scary" Kurt comforted.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The credits rolled and Blaine lifted his head from Kurt's chest.
"Is it over?" he squeaked.
"It's okay baby, it's finished" Kurt whispered.
"You promised!" Blaine whined, hitting Kurt's arm. "You promised it wasn't that scary! That was terrifying! We're sleeping with the lights on. Screw that, I'm not even sleeping tonight, ghost face is going to come and -"
Kurt laughed, pulling Blaine on top of him. "Oh I love you Blaine" he giggled, kissing him softly. Blaine kissed him back harder, happy to have some sort of distraction.
Just as Blaine's hand was slipping up Kurt's shirt, the phone rang downstairs. Blaine froze and curled himself around Kurt, shaking with fear. Kurt moved to go and get the phone and Blaine clung to Kurt, refusing to move from his position on top of him.
"Come on Blaine, get up, I need to get the phone" Kurt frowned, but Blaine only buried his face in Kurt's shoulder.
"No Kurt, you can't pick up the phone, it'll be ghost face, if you pick up the phone he'll kill you, and I can't lose you, I love you, please stay here, please" Blaine begged, tears forming in his eyes.
"Oh baby, it's not real" Kurt smiled, wrapping his arms around Blaine. He rolled over so that they were side by side and tried to get up again, but Blaine pulled him back down, cuddling up to him as close as he could. "B, ghost face doesn't exist, it's just a movie, okay? Nobody is going to kill me if I pick up the phone, I promise you"
"Fine, but I'm coming with you" Blaine said reluctantly, clinging onto Kurt's arm as they walked downstairs. Kurt picked up the ringing phone and held it to his ear.
"Hello? Yes, I do like scary movies. My favourite? Oh, I would have to say -"
"Kurt, hang up the phone!" Blaine screamed, tears pouring down his face. He grabbed the phone and pressed the end call button, slamming it back down on the base. He looked up to see Kurt doubled over with laughter.
"I can't believe you fell for that" he laughed, moving forward to wrap his arms around Blaine.
Blaine shoved him away, looking hurt. "That's not funny Kurt! You knew how terrified I was, why would you do that?!"
Kurt's expression softened as he saw that Blaine was genuinely upset and took his hands in his. "I'm sorry baby, I didn't realise that it would upset you this much. I'm sorry"
He pressed his lips to Blaine's as an apology, pulling him close. Blaine kissed him back, showing him that he was forgiven.
"I promise, it was just a little joke. And if it makes you feel any better, I just thoroughly confused my dad"
Blaine let out a little chuckle and rested his head on Kurt's shoulder. "Maybe you should call him back, he might have been wanting to tell you when he and Carole are coming home"
Kurt nodded and picked up the phone again, dialling his dad's number.
"Kurt? Kurt, what was that?" Burt said frantically as soon as he answered.
"Dad, it was nothing, I was just playing a joke on Blaine, don't worry about it" Kurt laughed. "Anyway, you called?"
"Yeh, I just wanted to let you kids know that we're gonna have to stay here longer, so we'll be back Friday, okay?"
"Okay" Kurt nodded, even though Burt couldn't see him. "I'll tell Blaine and Finn"
"Okay, bye kiddo"
"Bye dad" Kurt said, hanging up the phone. He turned back to Blaine and wrapped his arms around his waist. "Good news" he grinned.
"What?" Blaine asked, looping his arms around Kurt's neck, swaying the both lightly.
"Dad and Carole aren't coming back until Friday, which means....."
"We have lots of alone time" Blaine grinned back, leaning up to kiss Kurt seductively. Kurt kissed him back for a few seconds before pulling away, chuckling as Blaine followed his lips.
"Yes, we will, but today's been really difficult, can we just...I don't know, cuddle and be boyfriends? I kind of miss the little moments you know, like when I made you dinner, or when we spent the weekend together. I miss that stuff"
Blaine rubbed their noses together and smiled at him. "Of course we can baby. I miss it too. Now come on, I'll cook for you"
"You're perfect" Kurt sighed, unravelling himself from Blaine and flopping down on the couch. "Do I get to know what we're eating?" he called over his shoulder.
"Not a chance" Blaine shouted back, laughing.
~~~~~~~~~~
Blaine put the lasagne is the oven and walked into the lounge. He smiled as he saw his boyfriend sleeping soundly on the couch, looking absolutely adorable. He sat next to Kurt and slipped himself into his arms, cuddling up to him with a content smile on his face. Kurt opened one eye and looked down at Blaine.
"Hi" he murmured.
"Hey" Blaine smiled, cuddling closer to Kurt. "Dinner's in the oven so I thought I'd spend some time with my beautiful boyfriend"
"Well aren't you the considerate one" Kurt laughed, pressing a light kiss to Blaine's forehead.
"I am so in love with you" Blaine whispered.
"I'm so in love with you too" Kurt whispered back, pressing their lips together. "Mm, now what do you say we cuddle and watch crap reality TV until dinner is ready"
"I say that that sounds perfect" Blaine grinned, cuddling closer to Kurt.
They turned on the TV and watched Dance Moms until the beeper went off, telling them that the lasagne was done. Blaine got it out of the oven and dished it out, grinning when Kurt said that it was delicious. Not long after, Finn came home and Kurt and Blaine decided to retreat to bed. After they'd showered and Blaine had washed that gel out of his hair, they climbed into bed and cuddled close together.
"I love you B" Kurt whispered, running a hand through Blaine's curls.
"I love you too" Blaine whispered back as he slipped his eyes shut, falling asleep almost instantly, dreading the next day when they would have to pretend again.
