Blaine jogged on the spot nervously and rung his hands out. He knocked on the Hummel-Hudson house door before he could change his mind and turn back, waiting impatiently for someone to open it. He jumped as the door swung open, and looked up to see Burt towering over him.
"H-Hi Mr Hummel, is Kurt in?" he stuttered out.
"Blaine, you're my son's boyfriend, I think we're past the ‘Mr Hummel' stage. Call me Burt" Burt chuckled, clapping Blaine on the back causing him to stumble. "He's in his room, go on up. Door stays open!"
"Of course Mr Hum - I mean Burt" Blaine called as he bolted up the stairs.
He didn't know what it was about that man, but he made him nervous. He knocked on Kurt's door and was pulled inside almost as soon as his arm was back by his side, his lips pressed against familiar ones.
"Hi" Kurt breathed, pressing their foreheads together.
"Hi to you too" Blaine laughed, wrapping his arms around Kurt, nuzzling into him. Then he remembered what he was there for. "Kurt..." he started, already scared anticipating his reaction.
"Hmmm" Kurt hummed, allowing him to continue.
"Don't be mad, but....you know when I was here last weekend, with the Glee guys?"
"Yes" Kurt dragged out, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Why was Blaine bringing that up all of a sudden?
"And you know how I came up here so I could see you, then came up again later because I couldn't sleep knowing that you were so close yet so far?"
"Yes" Kurt repeated, beginning to feel bad about whatever was coming next.
"Puck saw me going upstairs both times and followed me and now he knows everything" Blaine blurted in one breath.
"He WHAT?!" Kurt yelled, shoving Blaine away from him.
"I know, I know, I should have been more careful, more discreet, this is all my fault, I understand if you want to dump me right now, I'm such a horrible boyfriend, I knew this was too good to last" Blaine sobbed, sitting down on the bed with tears pouring down his cheeks.
"What are you on about you silly thing? Why on earth would I dump you? Kurt laughed, sitting next to Blaine on the bed and holding him close.
"Because it's all my fault that Puck knows! I'm so stupid and careless!"
"Oh honey, I'm not mad at you! I'm mad at Puck for not being able to keep his nose out of other people's business!" he chuckled, running his hands other Blaine's hair.
"You're really not mad?" Blaine sniffed, wiping his tears.
"Of course I'm not! It's not your fault at all! Now listen, I'll talk to Puck tomorrow and make sure he doesn't tell anyone" Kurt nodded.
"He already said he wouldn't tell anybody, so you don't need to do anything" Blaine told him, smiling at the gentle expression on Kurt's face.
"You're sure?"
"Positive" he confirmed.
"Well in that case, we have nothing to worry about, and you have nothing to get so worked up over!" He punctuated his sentence with a tap on Blaine's nose and a kiss.
"Mmm, you smell nice. You smell like vanilla and....and Kurt" Blaine grinned, breathing in Kurt's scent.
"I smell of....Kurt?" he smirked, trying to contain his laughter.
"Oh god, that's probably the stupidest thing I've ever said! It's just....you smell like something I can't place, something nice and comforting....I'm just going to shut up now before I take this too far. Oh my god, I know what you smell like, I'm such a creep!" Blaine groaned, hiding his face in Kurt's chest.
"Hey, stop it! It's not weird or creepy at all, I think it's sweet. I know what you smell like too! You smell like cinnamon and coffee and Blaine" Kurt smiled, reaching over to run his hands through Blaine's hair, but stopping when he realised that he would probably get his hands stuck in there because of the insane amount of gel he insisted on putting in there, claiming it "tamed his curls". Kurt for one, couldn't wait to see Blaine's natural hair and run his hands through it.
"Stop teasing me!" he whined.
"I'm not teasing you, I'm being serious! There's just something about the way you smell that makes me feel at home. Here, in your arms, that's what feels like home to me" He wasn't lying either. He really did feel that way, he just couldn't tell anyone other than Blaine, but he didn't care, because the only one that mattered, was the man himself.
Blaine felt his heart jump. "Do you really mean that?"
"100%" Kurt confirmed, closing the distance between them. "Listen....I know that you want to take it slow and all...but we can at least make out, right?"
"O-Okay. But I should warn you, I've never had a boyfriend before, so I've never really made out with anyone" Blaine whispered as Kurt brought him in for another kiss, starting out gentle, their lips moving softly together, but deepening as Kurt lay down, pulling Blaine down with him. They lay side by side, and Kurt draped an arm over Blaine's waist, bringing him closer. Oh my god, Kurt's opening his mouth, what do I do? Should I open mine too? Blaine thought, beginning to panic. Oh god, is that is tongue? Yep, that's his tongue, oh my god, what do I do?
"Blaine, sweetheart, stop panicking, you're an amazing kisser, you're doing great" Kurt comforted, reading Blaine's mind. "You'll find that it just comes naturally in a minute"
Blaine nodded, and Kurt leaned in for another kiss, deeper this time, more passionate. Kurt's tongue traced Blaine's bottom lip, and Blaine opened his mouth slightly, giving Kurt the access he guessed he was looking for. He felt Kurt's tongue dip into his mouth, and he felt himself start to relax. This wasn't so difficult after all! Blaine dipped his head sideways and pulled Kurt impossibly closer.
Kurt rolled them so that instead of being side by side, they he was on top of Blaine, running his hands along the lines of his neck.
After a few minutes, they broke apart and went back to lying side by side, pressed as close together as possible.
"You're sure you've never done that before?" Kurt asked, breathless.
"Certain" Blaine gasped.
"Hmmm. I was being deadly serious earlier you know" he said, smiling at Blaine.
"About what?" Blaine asked, curious.
"About feeling at home in your arms"
"Well then" Blaine started, wrapping his arms around Kurt, covering him, like a human blanket. "I'd better keep you here, hadn't I?"
Kurt giggled as Blaine's fingers danced up and down his body, tickling him.
"You know, I love the feeling of you being in my arms" Blaine told him, cuddling him even tighter, if that was possible. "I just love the way you fit against me, like a puzzle. I've always felt like their something missing, and now, here, with you in my arms, that empty space has been filled"
"So, you could say that I'm your missing puzzle piece....and I make you complete?" Kurt suggested.
"You could definitely say that" Blaine chuckled.
"Hey, isn't that a Katy Perry song?" he asked.
"It is indeed. Teenage Dream. Man, I love that song" Blaine smiled.
"Sing it to me"
"What?"
"Sing it to me" Kurt repeated.
"Oh, okay"
Blaine unravelled himself from Kurt and sat at the piano close to the bed. He positioned his fingers gently on the keys and began to play a soft, slower version of the song.
You think I'm pretty, without any make up on
You think I'm funny, when I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down
Before you met me, I was alright but things were kind of heavy
You brought me to life now every February, you'll be my valentine, valentine
Let's go all, the way tonight, no regrets, just love
We can dance, until we die, you and I, will be young forever
You, make, me, feel like I'm living a,
Teenage dream, the way you turn me on
I, can't, sleep, let's run away and don't ever look back, don't ever look back
My, heart, stops, when you look at me
Just, one, touch, now baby I believe
This, is, real, so take a chance and don't ever look back, don't ever look back
We drove to Cali, and got drunk on the beach
Got a motel and, built a fort out of sheets
I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece, I'm complete
Kurt walked over to Blaine and placed his hands on his shoulder, squeezing them lovingly as Blaine continued to sing and play with a burning passion he had never felt before.
Let's go all, the way tonight, no regrets, just love
We can dance, until we die, you and I, will be young forever, cause
You, make, me, feel like I'm living a,
Teenage dream, the way you turn me on
I, can't, sleep, let's run away and don't ever look back, don't ever look back
My, heart, stops, when you look at me
Just, one, touch, and baby I believe
This, is, real, so take a chance and don't ever look back, don't ever look,
Imma get your heart racing in my skin tight jeans be your teenage dream tonight
I'll let you put your hands on me in my skin tight jeans be your teenage dream tonight
You, make me, feel like a teenage dream, the way you turn me on
I, can't sleep, and don't ever look back, don't over look back
My, heart stops, when you look at me
Just, one touch, now baby I believe
This, is real, so ooohhh, don't ever look back, no
Imma get your heart racing in my skin tight jeans be your teenage dream tonight
I'll let you put your hands on me, in my skin tight jeans, be your teenage dream tonight
As Blaine played the final chord, Kurt took his boyfriend in his arms, no words needing to be spoken, both of them just there, just being.
"That was amazing" he whispered as Blaine stood up next to him. "From now on, that's officially our song"
"Agreed" nodded Blaine
"Your voice...Blaine, I knew you could sing, but that....just wow. You've rendered me utterly speechless, words don't even begin to describe how truly amazing and perfect that was" Kurt said, unable to believe how phenomenal Blaine was. There was something else though, something else in his voice, something else in the way that he sang. Something so raw and passionate, something that needed to be said but couldn't. At least not yet.
"Thanks" Blaine mumbled, glancing over at the clock. "Oh, crap, it's 10, my curfew's 10:30, I've got to go!"
He shot up running towards the door running back to give Kurt a long, deep goodbye kiss.
"I'll see you tomorrow" he whispered before bolting out of the room.
"Yeh, okay, tomorrow" Kurt mumbled, falling to his bed. How This weekend was their one month anniversary. How the hell did time go by that quickly?
Blaine got in through the door with 10 minutes to spare, breathing a huge sigh of relief. Thank god. His parents couldn't kill him now.
"Blaine!" Alicia screamed, walking over to him with her hands on her hips.
"Mom, I'm home 10 minutes before curfew, there's no need to yell at me" he sighed, feeling tired already.
"Yes, but you never told me where you were going!" she barked, one hand poised on her hip.
"What does it matter? I was just out, okay!"
"Of course it matters! If my son is going to be out all the time and until late, I want to know where he is! What kind of mother do you think I am?!"
"Do you really want me to answer that?" Blaine asked, raising a triangular eyebrow.
"That's enough from you" she screeched, making Blaine wince at the sheer highness and scratchiness of her voice. He could tell she was putting it on to seem superior.
"You know what, I'm just going to go study or something" he sighed, dragging himself up the huge flight of stairs.
"What happened to that boy you were tutoring?" Alicia snapped.
Oh crap! Blaine thought, his eyes going wide. I haven't tutored him in at least a month....how could I forget?! He's going to fail, and it's all because of me!
"That's where I was. Tutoring him" Blaine half lied. He was at Kurt's, but what they were doing sure as hell wasn't tutoring.
"Well, at least some good is coming from you. You're smart, Blaine, it's a shame you don't look nicer. Maybe we should get you some contacts, those glasses are huge, almost too big for your face, and we should change your clothes too. Those sweater vests and Capri pants? No, no, they won't do at all. Thank god our friends never see you in anything other than a suit, and when absolutely necessary" she spat, looking him up and down.
"I don't want contacts" Blaine protested. "I don't like the idea of having something shoved in my eye every day!"
"Do you have a girlfriend yet?" Alicia asked, ignoring Blaine's words.
"No mom, I'm gay. Remember?" he yelled, sick of this. Every day, "do you have a girlfriend, do you have a girlfriend?" No, he didn't but he had a boyfriend. A pretty damn amazing boyfriend.
"Yes, yes, I remember. Blaine, you may think you're gay now, but before you know it, once you get your looks straightened out, you'll find that you will have too. Soon enough, you'll have the most popular girl in school, the head cheerleader as your girlfriend, and you'll never turn back to this phase"
Blaine almost burst out laughing right there. She had just described Kurt, his boyfriend, only leaving out the tiny detail that he's a man. Even if he was dating a man, at least it who she wanted him to date.
"It's not a phase mom. I really am gay. I like guys. Not girls. Some day, preferably soon, you're just going to have to GET OVER IT!" he yelled, running up the stairs to his bedroom, slamming the door behind him. He picked up his cell phone and dialled the number he knew by heart and waited whilst it rang.
"Hello?" the voice on the receiving end answered.
"Kurt? My mom's going all....weird again. Why doesn't she love me?" he sobbed, breaking down completely.
"Oh, sweetheart, she's your mom, of course she loves you!" Kurt comforted.
"No she doesn't she hates me! She's going on about how the way I dress is what makes me gay, that if I dressed differently I would ‘straighten out'....I'm happy with who I am, why can't she be?" he cried, curling in on himself. He wished Kurt was here now, here to hold him and kiss him and tell him that everything's going to be okay.
"Oh, baby. I wish I could do more to help, if I could be there with you right now, I would" he told him, his heart aching at the small pained sounds Blaine was making.
"I know" Blaine sighed curling into a tighter ball. "Listen, I know that this Saturday marks our first month of being together, and my parents are going to be out of town, so why don't you stay here for the whole weekend? Friday to Sunday"
"I'll have to ask my dad, but I think it'll be okay!" Kurt grinned, trying to sound nonchalant, when really he was screaming with happiness inside.
"Great! I'll see you tomorrow at school! Oh, and speaking of school, I just remembered today....I haven't tutored you in a month now, and I don't want you to fail because of me, and no, you do not get out of it because you're my boyfriend" Blaine laughed, stretching out and feeling more calm and relaxed, his worried gone at the sound of Kurt's voice.
"Ah...yeh...about the tutoring....I kind of failed those tests on purpose then requested you as my tutor so that I could be closer to you" Kurt confessed.
"What?"
"Yeh" he confirmed.
"Oh....well then, that gives us more time to be just together without having to study...thank god!" Blaine smiled, turning over on his side.
"Should we tell Miss Nicol that I don't need tutoring anymore?" Kurt asked.
"No, don't, if anyone sees us together, we can use that as an excuse"
"Right...okay" he sighed, hating that they couldn't have a public relationship.
"Hey, I'm tired, so I'll see you in the morning, okay?" Blaine mumbled, suddenly feeling exhausted.
"Sure thing. Night honey"
"Night baby" Blaine said, hanging up the phone and dropping it on the nightstand, letting sleep take over him. This weekend was going to be amazing.
