When summer holidays officially started, Blaine, Cecilia and Lucas returned to Liz Hummel's daycare. She had recently moved her daycare from her home to a building near the centre downtown of Lima. Blaine walked in, hand grasping his mother's. He scanned the room to find Kurt, and once he spotted him, he ran towards him, leaving his mother in her dust.

"Hi Kurt!" Blaine said, sitting on the chair beside his friend. Kurt was sitting at a table colouring a blank sheet of paper. "What's that?" He asked, looking at the paper, he saw four stick people and a stick animal.

"That's my family." Kurt told his friend, he pointed to each figure individually, "That's my mommy, that's me, that's my daddy and that's my baby brother or sister. Mommy and daddy told me last night that I was gonna get one!" He said excitedly, "Oh, and that's a doggy, after everyone goes home tonight, I'm going to go get one!" He exclaimed, unable to hide his smile. Blaine smiled back.

"That's cool!" Blaine replied, "What are you gonna name your doggy?" He asked, Kurt paused for a moment, thinking.

"I don't know. I never thought of it." He said before shrugging and returning to colouring his picture. Blaine reached over and grabbed a sheet as well before drawing his own.

"Mama, why can't we have a doggy?" Blaine asked his mother when she picked them up. Lucinda sighed.

"Well, B," Blaine smiled, he loved when his mom called him B, "We have the horses, don't you like those?" She asked him. Blaine shrugged.

"I guess, but I can't even ride them yet." He responded. Lucinda thought about this, it was true, Blaine couldn't horseback ride yet, he was far to young and small. Maybe she could get him a dog to play with. She'd have to ask her husband once he got back from his business trip at the end of the week.

"I'll ask your father, OK, B?" He nodded enthusiastically, his daddy loved him, he would say yes.

"C'mon, Kurt, that was the last of them," Liz told her son when the last child had been picked up, "Let's head home." Kurt nodded, going to grab his backpack and stuffed the picture in it. He held his mom's hand and they left.

When they got home, Burt was waiting for them. He gave Liz a kiss on the lips before leaning down and kissing his son's forehead.

"How was your day, buddy?" He asked Kurt, sitting in the living room as Lucinda made dinner.

"Good, I made a picture!" Burt smiled.

"Well, can I see it?" He asked his son, Kurt nodded, reaching into his bag and giving his dad the drawing he had been working on all day to make perfect. Burt took it, looking at the stick figures. He glanced at his son. "Who's in the picture, buddy?" Kurt reached over pointing at each person as he explained who they were. Burt smiled, Kurt was definitely going to be a good brother. "Can I keep this picture and hang it in my office at work?" Kurt nodded, smiling largely.

Later that day, the Hummel family went to the pet store and Kurt picked out the perfect dog, a white baby husky. He called it Smokey. He brought Smokey to the daycare centre the next day to show to Blaine, but he wasn't there. Liz explained to her son that Blaine's mom had the week off of work, so he and his brother and sister wouldn't be there, but she'd gladly call Lucinda and set up a play date for the two if he wanted to see his friend before Monday. Kurt had agreed. He spent the day playing in the outdoor playground with Smokey. Smokey wasn't allowed inside because some of the kids would start sneezing crazily. The young boy was content, but there was definitely something missing. And he couldn't figure out what.

Blaine was out in the kitchen with his mom that afternoon making some chicken parmigiana when the phone rang. "B, can you get that?" Blaine nodded, jumping off the stool and picking up the phone from the counter.

"Hello?" He said into the receiver.

"Hi, is this Blaine?" A woman's voice asked.

"Yeah,"

"Oh, hello Blaine, It's Liz, Kurt's mom. May I speak with your mother, please?" He nodded, then remembered she couldn't see him, he replied.

"One second." He handed his mother the phone, "It's Kurt's mommy." Lucinda wiped her hands on her apron and grabbed the phone.

"Good afternoon, Liz, to what to I owe the pleasure?" She said. Blaine sighed, sitting back on the stool and zoning out while absentmindedly playing with an elastic that was on the counter. "BLAINE!" Lucinda called, waking him out of his daydream. "Kurt's going to come over tomorrow and play with you all day, OK?" Blaine nodded. Lucinda smiled, mussing with his curly hair before washing her hands and returning to making dinner.

Blaine woke up super early the following day, he was far too excited to see his best friend again. He ended up in the backyard, sitting in the tree house that his father had built for him. There were two bean bag chair in the room, a TV on top of the dresser that was full of movies and a bunch of toys. When Kurt arrived, Lucinda brought him to the tree house and showed him and Smokey how to get inside.

"Hi Blaine!" Kurt walking inside. Blaine smiled at his friend widely.

"Hey Kurt, who's this?" He asked, petting the dog enthusiastically.

"His name is Smokey," Kurt told him. Blaine picked up the puppy and sat down on a beanbag chair with Smokey in his lap.

"I already put Pocahontas into the VCR, so all we have to do in press play." Kurt nodded, grabbing the remote and pressing play. They watched several movies all day, Smokey never moved from Blaine's lap until Liz came to pick Kurt up. The boys hugged, and Blaine watched as the car drove off.

End Notes: Just another filler chapter. Like I said before, it will start picking up once Kurt and Blaine are older in age.
