For your amazing patience I made this chapter a little longer
You'd think after being room-mates with Blaine for 2 weeks you'd know what the other boy likes, but as he stares inside a shopping mall clothing store and looks blankly at the shelves; he realises that he has no idea what to buy the prevalent well-groomed dashing gentlemen who instantly argued with Kurt “Don't get me anything,” when he asked.
Right, don't get me anything. Like hell. Blaine deserved everything he owed for getting him out of that hellhole of a school for one, and for visiting him at the hospital making him feel special with flowers and conversation that didn't involve how sorry he felt that he was in the hospital, after dismissing a Warblers meeting which he had found out from Wes and David soon after his arrival; and two for showing him opportunities at Dalton, and helping him out with his fees for sharing his room.
Not only that, Blaine was every bit the gentle, caring, and kind man he was to Kurt, and he expected not to get anything from Kurt which meant he was definitely going to get something.
At first the immediate thought was bow-ties; but that idea soon got shipwrecked already when he heard whispers amongst the Warblers in the cafeteria what they were going to get each other.
Chocolates were too easy, and gift cards were worst. It was like ‘Oh hey, I didn't know what to buy, so I got you this lousy card so you can decide for yourself!'
He had listened in on Wes and David when Blaine excused himself from his seat next to Kurt to go to the bathroom.
“I still haven't bought him anything yet,” David had said querulously as Wes grunted in agreement
“He's tough to buy for, the only thing he likes is bow ties, and Kurt,” Wes looked up at David nudged him and his eyes fell on Kurt's shocked face.
“Sorry, but it's true. I mean he risked suspension to spy on you,” The two continued to talk as though this was nothing new, and Kurt tried to register what the hell did that mean.
“You know you'd look cute with a bow on your head,” Another boy at the table who Kurt had found out from Blaine was also gay. “Thanks?” He said unsure if that was a compliment. There were a lot more gay guys in Dalton and it was a relief not being the only gay kid anymore.
Kurt ended up buying several things for Blaine before feeling satisfied that he had gotten enough.
He bought a cardigan with little anchors on it and a cute red and black checkered shirt with a red bowtie to match which he thought would look cute on Blaine. He had seen Blaine wear cardigans with animals and objects on it on the weekend, just when he was going to drive to his parent's house in Lima, after his first week at settling in at Dalton and Blaine looked so inept in the outfit he wore compared to his Dalton uniform that Kurt couldn't help but laugh at him.
Blaine's face however made him feel bad for laughing at him. His face fell when Kurt started giggling uncontrollably, and Kurt had meant to tell him that he thought it looked really adorable, he just never seen someone wear something like that before. Blaine left with a quick hug and a “Have a safe trip,” as he said he was going to go to the gym. Which Kurt knew was a lie because Blaine always wore a tank top and a towel over his shoulder when he went to the gym.
He vowed to himself, he'd make it up to him.
Other than the clothes, he had spotted a John Green book “Looking for Alaska” which looked alright from reading the back and online he had brought Blaine a “Fault in our stars” hoodie which he hoped fit and hoped Blaine didn't already have.
He had debated on the colour of the hoodie. He needed help, so he went on his twitter account as he didn't want to tell Mercedes because she would tease him for spending so much on Blaine, and he definitely didn't want to ask Carole who would surely tell Burt.
They had a nice green and red colour one too but those colours reminded him of Finn and what he would wear, and he didn't want to think about Finn if Blaine ever got out of the shower and put on that hoodie. It looked very snugly to Kurt. He thought the grey, white and brown looked nice.
They also had the typical blue colour like the book, which he had found out from sharing with his twitter account and asking “Which one should I get for a special guy?” Hashtagging #TFIOS #JohnGreen #Hoodie #Blue #Red #White or #Brown?
Many comments said #Blue like the cover!
He had shared it through his twitter because not many of his friends were on his twitter account. He used it to fanboy over fashion and music and particularly Lady Gaga, Madonna and Britney Spears
@KurtHummel @ILOVETFIOSMOST You better give us a photo of your man in that hoddie
KurtHummel @ILOVETFIOSMOST He's not exactly my man, but I will : )
In the end he decided the brown one would suit Blaine best, it reminded him of the time Blaine had lectured him on the most popular quotes, he would surely say that the blue hoodie would be ‘too common' as Blaine had put it, and besides it was Brand new and not many fans had the brown TFIOS hoodie.
He spent the rest of the week buying for his family and other New Direction friends, and before he knew it, it was 2 days before Christmas.
“Blaine!” Kurt shook Blaine's shoulders and Blaine almost fell out of bed “Go back to bed Wes,” He said half asleep as Kurt laughed “It's not Wes … It's me Kurt, BLAINE!”
“What? Mph!” Blaine almost fell out of bed as Kurt all but screamed at him.
“It's snowing!”
“I'm going back to sleep,”
“Blaineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”
“It's 5:30 in the morning Kurt!”
“I'll get you coffee?”
“Goodnight Kurt,”
“It's morning Blaine,” Kurt mocked his voice.
“Go back to sleep Kurt,” Blaine grunted as he added to himself “Like every other normal teenager”
“I heard that,”
“M, sorry,” Blaine said with a yawn, his eyes still closed, as he stretched and began to get comfortable again.
“I got your presents, come on up!”
“That's nice Kurt…I told you I didn't want anything though,” Blaine mumbled eyelashes drifting back into sleep and head facing opposite of Kurt.
Kurt didn't know that he had woken him up with another nightmare and Blaine only managed to get 2 hours sleep.
Sometimes Kurt was near hysterical in the middle of the night, and the only way Blaine managed to calm him down was by pulling him into his lap and stroking his hair whispering comforting words, but when Blaine asked if he remembered anything Kurt just shook his head and asked why, so he didn't ask if Kurt remembered anymore not wanting Kurt to remind himself of whatever nightmarish dream he had.
The first time it happened Kurt had woken up Blaine was on his knees next to his bed
Blaine was shaking his shoulders and looking terribly upset and worried. “I didn't know what to do you, you were particularly screaming, I couldn't just sit here,” Blaine commented and apologised, as he soothed circles on Kurt's back who was gasping with tears falling down his face. He was clinging to Blaine, he realised after 10 minutes and let go “I'm so sorry, it's just Karofsky…”
“Karofsky,” He whimpered and Blaine nodded knowingly saying comforting words and continued to rub his back as he sat next to him on the bed “It's okay, your safe…it's going to be okay,”
“I made some cookies,”
“I'm up!” Blaine said bolting upwards and hitting his head on the back wall “Ow!” he rubbed his neck as Kurt looked at him incredibly “Chop chip?” He asked and Kurt rolled his eyes as he handed Blaine a cookie “No, salted caramel and macadamia,”
“omg,” Blaine said through a mouthful of cookie “Can I keep you?”
Kurt blushed. He most definitely could. Blaine groaned as he ate another mouthful of cookie and then yawned. “When did you get up?” He asked Kurt who handed him another cookie, and cup of coffee on a cup and saucer which Blaine eagerly took “Thank you,”
“You welcome, and about 10 minutes ago, I made these last night when you were with your friends, I just put them in the oven to warm them up,”
“You could have come with us,” Blaine answered “But I'm glad you didn't, because these are heaven,”
“Okay time for presents!”
“Kurt I told you not to get me anything!”
“I couldn't get you nothing Blaine!”
“You're here Kurt, I'm just happy you're safe,”
Kurt looked at Blaine fondly. He was surely falling in love with this boy, who put other people's feelings above his own.
“Even more the reason why you deserve to enjoy other people spoiling you…”
While Blaine was opening his presents Kurt got a beep on his phone as he told Blaine he would cook their dinner. The cafeteria closed for a week when it was Christmas, and luckily every student had a mini kitchen area, it was the tinniest kitchen in the world and you were only aloud an oven, a fridge and sink.
No microwaves because apparently they had issues with microwaves blowing up in the past.

Kurt and Blaine was laying on the floor side by side that night and Kurt was sharing his music with Blaine since he insisted he wanted to hear it, but they had to be lying on the floor for it to be more gratifying.
“You're such a dork,” Kurt laughed as Blaine pouted “I'm your favourite dork though,”
“That you are, I'm really glad you liked the hoodie” Kurt added. Blaine really did, as he was wearing it right now as they lay on the floor. It fit him perfectly. He smiled at Kurt “I really do,”
“I got you other stuff, but your gonna have to wait for those sorry, I'll wrap them up for you,” Kurt added as Blaine laughed “I get more? Kurt you shouldn't have,”
Kurt shrugged. They played Kurt's most favourite songs list and a favourite of his came on by Keane at which Blaine turned on his side and looked at Kurt “Somewhere only we know?” He asked not judgingly but looking surprised at Kurt who shrugged, he wasn't looking at Blaine as he answered, he had his eyes closed listening to the music “I had a really bad experience with crushes, but I always liked this song,” He admitted.
He finally opened his eyes and Blaine was so close, he could reach up and kiss him, but he didn't. His face remained hot and he felt his heart pounding. Blaine popped his chin on his elbow and smiled down at him “I think it's sweet,”
Kurt snorted “You probably think a fat man helping an old lady is sweet too,”
Blaine laughed “Hey, fat boys are kind of cute… like chubby bears,”
“Oh my god,” Kurt groaned and looked at Blaine “Is that why you're single? You're waiting for some chubby guy, while all the skinny ones are eyeing you but they don't have enough stomach on them to give you nice cuddles, so you leave them stranding in line?”
Blaine laughed out loud and actually punched Kurt playfully in the arm. Kurt flinched becoming a little tense, as he looked away and immediately Blaine noticed. An arm was placed gently on his shoulder which caused him to look at the concern on Blaine's face who had it scrunched in a frown “Oh Kurt, I'm sorry,” Kurt nodded reassuringly “You don't scare me, I don't know why I did that,”
“You've been through a lot,” Blaine concluded. Baby it's cold outside came on then and Blaine started to hum as they lay there. Kurt smiled as Blaine hummed the guy's part.
It only made sense to join in but instead of humming Kurt sang “I really can't stay…”
At first Blaine continued to hum, a smile on his face as Kurt sang (But baby, its cold outside)
“I got to go away…”
(But baby, its cold outside)
Kurt turned down the song on his Ipod and took the earphones out, so they could hear it aloud a, he rolled on his side and nudged Blaine who looked at him with his eyes shining “This evening has been…” Blaine grinned and joined in finally “Been hoping that youd drop in” Kurt chuckled at Blaine's change of tone to match the music “So very niceeee,”
Blaine reached for his hands his eyes never leaving Kurt's who watched him intently “I'll hold your hands…they're just like ice,” Blaine brought them to his lips. Kurt yanked his hands away blushing “My mother will start to worry” he winked as he sat up with a mocked ‘oh no' expression but Blaine sat up and shuffled closer, eyes landing on Kurt's lips and back to his eyes “Beautiful what's your hurry?”
“My father will be pacing the floor,”
Blaine pouted as he moved further away “Listen to the fireplace roar..” on his knees and Blaine followed suit “So really I'd better scurry…”
Blaine reached his area and stopped him from moving by placing his knees ontop of Kurt's so that he was particularly straddling him.
“Beautiful, please don't hurry…”
Kurt struggled but then relented “Maybe just have a drink more?” he shrugged. Blaine laughed at his throwing in the towel. “Put some records on, while I pour…”
Kurt put a finger on Blaine's chest and gently pressed him backwards, he looked back to their closed door and then back at Blaine “The neighbours might think…”
“Baby it's BAD out there,” Blaine was watching his finger “What's in this drink…?” which was still pressing him and with an oof he fell flat on his back “No cabs to be had out there,” Kurt had teased him by following his face with his own and in result freeing himself from Blaine's straddling.
Kurt moved away and sat on the couch “I wish I knew how…to break your spell…” Blaine got up and moved to the couch too. “Your eyes are like starlight – I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell,”
“I ought to say no, no, sir,” Blaine moved in shuffling closer “Mind if I move in closer?” He bumped into Kurt's side who shrugged “At least I'm gonna say that I tried?” Blaine placed a hand on his knee “What's the sense in hurting my pride?”
Kurt looked at him with his eyes sparkling, he hated that he had to leave tomorrow, when he imagined how Blaine had to be alone for Christmas, and they were having so much fun together.
“I really can't stay…”
“Baby, don't hold out..”
“Oooooh, but it's cold, ooooooutsiiiiiiide,”
They looked at each other. Kurt was about to start laughing when suddenly he found Blaine leaning in and pressing his lips on his own.
