The next day they met up at the exact location, Kurt was surprised to see Blaine there a little earlier. It was a pretty private area except for a pathway that led out to the main oval of where the cabins were.
“I thought you weren’t going to show up for a minute,” Blaine said quietly relieved when Kurt gave him a hug.
Kurt looked hurt.
“Why would you think that?”
“I just…never mind,”
“Would you mind telling me more about you today, I’d actually prefer to listen to your story which I’m sure is not quite as depressing as mine,” Kurt attempted to joke but Blaine didn’t buy it.
“Don’t say that, I don’t think you’re depressing,” Blaine gestured for him to sit down, which they both did.
“We don’t have a long time to talk,” Kurt said sadly.
“I know…I sometimes wish this was a vacation, and it’s meant to be, but I think our teachers are too determined for us to win,”
“I know what you mean, Mr Shuester always complains about us not trying hard enough,” Kurt rolled his eyes. Blaine laughed.
“Well…truth be told Wes and David are really the only ones that complain.
Kurt looked surprised and raised an eyebrow in confusion.
“We don’t have teachers in Dalton, sometimes we have an occasional tutor, but the headmaster pretty much trusts us to look after ourselves,”
“Really?” Kurt seemed surprised.
“Well yeah…I mean, we all get along, so they don’t have to worry about us harming each other, we get good grades and if there are any problems, we just see the headmaster about it,”
Kurt goes silent for a bit.
“Wow,”
“Hey…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you upset,” Blaine gently touched Kurt’s hand for what he hoped was a comforting gesture when the boy went into a state of shock.
"Well hello hot cheeks," Kurt didn't get a chance to answer when a kid interrupted their establishing conversation out of no where, both boys had been so fascinated with each other they hadn’t seen someone watching them the previous night and deciding to make an appearance the next day when seeing them again in the exact same position.
"Excuse me, but we were in a private conversation, do you mind observing Blaine from afar?" Kurt asked the rude teenager who made it obvious that he was looking at Blaine like a prize to win.
Blaine felt uncomfortable, and Kurt could see it as he nervously shuffled a bit closer to Kurt eyeing both of them. Kurt put his arm underneath Blaine’s and hoped the boy wouldn’t be appalled, but Blaine only smiled in return.
"My name's Sebastian Smythe," The boy ignored Kurt and held out a hand for them to shake.
"Kurt Hummel, pleasure to meet you, now please go," Kurt requested as politely as he could.
"Kurt...it's okay," Blaine said gently patting his arm with his other hand.
"Someone got out of the wrong side of the lonely bed," Sebastian smirked.
"Listen here you…" Kurt got up but Blaine stopped him as Sebastian moved closer to tower him.
"Sebastian, I would appreciate it, if you had approached us differently, would you mind giving us a moment, and if you behave nicer, I might consider talking back to you," Blaine added.
Kurt threw daggers at Sebastian as Sebastian scoffed.
"Fine, I was going to suggest a game of poker later on as camp tradition, but your boyfriend here obviously is over protective,"
"Kurt's not my boyfriend," Blaine said much to Kurt's dismay. He shouldn't feel hurt, it was true after all.
"Ahh...so you're single," Sebastian grinned wickedly.
"Yes, I am,"
“Kurt where are you?!” Mercedes called over the fields alongside with Tina and Santana.
"I have to go, sorry Blaine, I hope I see you around." Kurt interrupted feeling sick again; when he looked at Sebastian. Blaine got up at the same time not wanting to let go.
"Kurt! Wait," Blaine called. Kurt didn't hear and hurried of as Sebastian blocked Blaine's view.
"Excuse me, I'd like to talk to him," Blaine tried to get away but Sebastian stopped him.
“Not so fast hot cheeks,”
“Stop calling me that,” Blaine said angrily.
“I would if I knew your name hot cheeks,”
“Blaine, call me Blaine, now please, let me through,” Blaine tried to peer through but Sebastian moved dangerously closer looking at Blaine as though he was a sex toy. Blaine thought of Kurt and Karofsky and gulped.
“I’m afraid I can’t until I get something out of you, how about we go out…”
Blaine groaned. Immediately wishing Kurt was still here with him. He felt bad that Kurt had to leave in such a hurry, clearly he wasn’t fond of Sebastian, Blaine was starting to feel the same way.
“If I come to the poker game, will you let me go?”
Sebastian considered this and nodded.
“Deal, and bring along Kurt, me and my buddies at Vocal Adrenaline could have some fun with him,”
Sebastian winked and walked away.
Blaine’s heart raced.
Vocal Adrenaline, that’s where Jessie went to school.
The boy that had thrown eggs at the nice but annoying friend of Kurt’s Rachel.
Like hell, was he going to let them anywhere near Kurt.
Blaine rushed over to where Kurt had gone to but he was nowhere to be seen. Blaine figured he must have gone back to his cabin when he went back into the diner to find all the boys from Kurt’s club gone.
He sighed as he walked back to the Warblers who were still chatting at the table.
“You’re back early,” David commented with a slight frown at Blaine’s disappointment.
“Kurt had to go,”
Wes nodded looking at David as though to say not to continue.
Blaine sat down and began wondering about Kurt. What Kurt had told him about his school, the bullying, he had looked so sad, but Blaine knew there was more to Kurt’s pain than the boy was willing to share. Blaine had been lucky enough to get that much out of him as his friends seemed completely oblivious to what was going on when he had asked about Karofsky. They all told him the same thing, a football jerk who harassed Kurt, but none of them knew about the threat.
Meanwhile…
Sebastian found Kurt moping near the entrance of the camp on a bench directed in front of a beautiful garden. Clearly he was annoyed about the interruption with Blaine. He had asked the girls to leave him alone, for a moment and he would find them for the next activity. The boy was so lost in thoughts he didn’t notice Sebastian coming up towards him with his arms folded against his chest.
Kurt had been thinking a lot about Blaine and how they first met. Did Blaine like him? Was that why he kissed him on the cheek? Or was that Blaine, being Blaine? Kurt touched his cheek where he had been kissed and smile slightly.
It made his attraction to Blaine grow just a tiny bit more…
“Alright Hummel, I know Blaine’s got a thing for you, as weird as that is, let’s make a deal,”
Kurt turned around in shock and rolled his eyes at Sebastian.
“How would you know what Blaine thinks?” Kurt demanded, absolutely loathing the boy.
“I can see he thinks your some kind of angel, well that’s about to change, when I show him what’s real and what’s fake,”
“You think I’m fake? You are the one to talk,” Kurt snarled.
“Listen up Hummel, and listen clearly, come to the poker game tonight, which is always held in our cabin, and whoever wins gets to spend a whole week with Blaine without the other person coming near them,” Sebastian offered.
“And whoever loses?” Kurt asked.
“Has to get undressed Naked and jump in the lake at midnight with whoever is outside watching,” Sebastian smirked.
Kurt could feel his heart burn at the idea of people watching him naked.
“What if I don’t want to do this?” Kurt glared.
“Then I will continue pressuring onto Blaine, I may even kiss him to win him over, and you will leave the camp still with that gay face and a job in a factory outlet, because we are by far going to beat your show choir at nationals, and don’t think for a second that there are any theatre/acting/singing jobs in loserville Ohio,”
Kurt gaped at the boy. He couldn’t be serious. How the hell did he know he was from Ohio? This camp was from all over the country!
“Why can’t you leave Blaine alone, and let him choose? Let him hang out with the people he wants,”
“Because Kurt, if there’s one thing I learnt in life, and that’s life aint fair, now either you’re in or out,”
“I’ll think about it,” Kurt refused to give in to any sort of competition when it involved nudity.
But Blaine, beautiful friendly Blaine.
If Sebastian is true to his words he could hurt Blaine, and even though Kurt has only known him two days, he can’t help but feel responsible to protecting him.
“If you don’t come tonight Hummel, I promise you, Blaine will be mine, whether I force him to face the truth, that you’re not good enough for him, or he realises it himself,”
The words stun.
Sure Sebastian was….ok looking, but Kurt wasn’t that unattractive was he?
Force…he couldn’t let what happened to him, happen to Blaine.
He would not let Sebastian steal Blaine’s innocence.
“Fine, I’ll play, where and when?” Kurt crossed his arms and stared up at Sebastian.
“Cabin 215, 11 pm the game starts, and at 12 pm we sneak down to the lake,”
“What about curfew?”
“I got that covered for our cabin, if you get caught you’re out of the game, and clearly, I get what I want,”
Kurt breathed in deeply as he nodded.
“Bring it,”
“Hope you enjoy cold water Hummel, because tonight you’re taking a freezing bath!”
“We’ll see about that!” Kurt shouted back as Sebastian left and decided to let Mercedes know what was going on, so she could advise him on how they could cover him.
