Author's Notes:

It is a short one. Like really short! Something to work on in future fics will be consistent lengths lol

All too soon it was time for Blaine to go back to New York.

“Why are you leaving Kid?” Burt asked in an endearing way.

“I have a part on Broadway and rehearsals start the day after tomorrow.”

“Well I'll miss having someone to watch the game with,” Burt replied. Kurt rolled his eyes but kept his head resting on Blaine's shoulder. The boys were standing in the doorway of the Hummel-Hudson house, and in a few minutes, Kurt was going to drive his boyfriend to the airport.

“Good luck with your rehearsals Blaine,” Carole said sweetly.

“Thank you Carole,” Blaine replied. He enjoyed the small chats he had with the older woman. The boys walked out of the house and to their rental car. Blaine only had one bag so he set it in the back seat. The drive mostly silent. Blaine was nervous, sad, and excited. Kurt was holding back tears. When they arrived at the airport, Kurt walked Blaine to the security stop. This was goodbye.

Blaine's eyes met Kurt's and saw that tears were on the verge of flowing over. “Please don't cry, Kurt. If you cry, then I am going to cry.”

Kurt wrapped his arms around Blaine and cried softly into the crook of Blaine's neck. “I'm going to miss you.”

“I'll miss you too, but I am not going anywhere. I'll see you in three months.”

“Okay. I love you,” Kurt said as he lifted his head.

Blaine reached up and wiped the tear tracks from Kurt's cheek. “I love you too.” Blaine leaned over and kissed Kurt. Then he broke away but went back in for one more. The boys broke their embrace and Kurt watched as Blaine walked through security. After a few minutes he left the terminal and walked back to his car. Once in the driver's seat he let go. He sobbed harder than ever before, his upper body draped over the steering wheel. After he calmed down, he gave himself a pep talk. “Three months, Kurt. Just enjoy time with your family. If things get to be too much then you can always go home.”

“Come on, Kurt, it's been two days. If you're going to be this gloomy than just go back to New York,” Burt said.

“I'm sorry Dad. I really want to spend time with you guys, but you both work all day so it gets a little boring,” Kurt explained. After he dropped Blaine off two days prior he went straight to his room and sulked for the rest of the day. He spent the last two days getting caught up on current events, and the evenings were spent with his family.

“Well if you are staying here for three months you better find a better way to spend your time. Call Rachel or something.”

“That's actually not a bad idea. Maybe she'll let me take Nick for a few days…” Kurt thought out loud.

“There you go. Won't Blaine get time off for Christmas?” Carole joined the conversation.

“Yeah he gets Christmas Day off and they finish rehearsal early on New Year's Eve but that's it. He told me on the phone not to come up for Christmas. I was thinking I would surprise him for New Year's though. Opening Night is March first.”

Burt and Carole nodded their heads and announced that they were headed to bed. Kurt sighed and went down to his room. “Day three down, too many more to go,” he whispered to himself. It was ten o'clock and Kurt was bored. He hoped that Blaine was done with rehearsals but his first few rehearsals went until late as well.

RING RING RING

RING RING RING

“Hello,” Blaine answered. His once gelled hair was breaking its hold and curls were popping out everywhere. His low cut tank top was drenched in sweat and his breath was heavy. In between words he was sucking down a water bottle.

“Blaine?” Kurt's high voice came across the line.

“Oh hey Kurt! We just finished. The last thing we practiced was this big dance number. I'm about to catch a cab, can I call you back when I get home?”

“Yeah of course. I can't wait to hear from you,” Kurt said softly.

“I'll chat your ear off. Bye Baby,” Blaine said and after Kurt said goodbye he hung up. He walked backstage and over to his dressing room. He might have lied when he said he had a small part; he was actually playing lead. Once he took a quick shower and changed, he walked out of his dressing room.

“Good work tonight Blaine! Your tight body moves really well across the stage. It'd be better if you were looser,” one of Blaine's costars called and waggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“Thanks Sebastian, but I am not interested,” Blaine attempted to cut him off.

“Come on!” Sebastian pleaded. “No one has to know.”

“I have a boyfriend, and besides, I don't like you like that.”

“He doesn't have to know,” Sebastian tried to convince the younger boy. He stepped in front of Blaine, blocking his way out of the building.

“I said I am not interested!” Blaine yelled and shoved Sebastian out of the way. He hailed a cab and made it to his lonely apartment. He pulled his phone out and called the one person who could make him happy, but happiness didn't some as the phone kept ringing and eventually went to voicemail. “I'm sorry Kurt. I tried to hurry but I got caught up by my co-star. He had some… questions. Anyway, I guess you fell asleep. Goodnight Sweetheart. Sweet Dreams.”

Blaine hung up after that and changed into pajamas. He really liked the play but he kept having run ins with Sebastian. Thank God he didn't have any scenes with the boy. Blaine passed out not much later, exhausted from the past few days work.
