  • I love the Detroit Lions and that game was following the progress of the game they played on Thanksgiving 2015

  • Sorry for the abrupt ending!

After Kurt and Rachel had finished talking about little Nick, everyone moved to sit down in the living room. Blaine sat next to Kurt and held his hand while the whole family got caught up. There were sad moments and funny stories shared. Kurt didn't share about his time in the army, just enjoyed hearing the highlights from all the family gatherings he'd missed. Everyone talked until well after midnight. Nick had fallen asleep across his uncle Kurt's lap and Blaine was rather exhausted himself. Rachel announced she was taking her little boy to bed and left the room. Rachel's dads would be joining them for dinner the next day, but weren't staying the night like Rachel was.

“Oh, Rachel is in the guest room, is it alright if Blaine stays in your room with you?” Carole asked.

“Absolutely not,”  Burt answered before Kurt could. “He can't sleep in the same room as his boyfriend.”

“Burt, he's 23 years old,” Carole argued and turned back to Kurt, waiting for his answer.

“Yeah that's fine,” Kurt answered. Blaine was a little surprised because back in New York the two had decided to stay in separate beds, but he figured there was a reason for Kurt's answer and he certainly had no problem with it. Burt glared at his son which made Kurt chuckle, but the minute the older man turned his gaze on Blaine, Blaine squished himself into Kurt's side, trying to disappear. Kurt told his dad to stop and then led Blaine to the basement. “It's always cold in here so I hope you like snuggles,” Kurt told Blaine.

Blaine smiled and replied, “of course I like snuggles.”

Kurt's room hadn't changed one bit since he left. He could imagine his dad sitting down here when he missed his boy. There was a big bed against the wall, and a gargantuan closet which was full of his clothes. He saw his vanity and all his moisturizing creams and started laughing.

He told Blaine how he once had a nightly date with his skin routine. Blaine chuckled. Then he showed Blaine some of his outfits. Blaine had ogled at his ass in a few of his skinny jeans. One particular outfit provoked a surprising, but far from unwanted, reaction out of Blaine. He was wearing skin tight white pants and a light blue button up. The sleeves came to just above his elbows, and the top two buttons were undone. He had a dark purple scarf around his neck but it didn't cover all of his exposed chest. Blaine all but leaped off of Kurt's bed, where he'd been watching Kurt model his clothes. He attacked Kurt's chest with kisses and pushed him through the closet doorway and against the back closet wall.

Kurt let out a breath of surprise but kissed back just as passionately. One hand crumpled the back of Blaine's shirt while the other tangled into his hair, breaking the gel. Blaine had one of his hands resting on the back of Kurt's neck and the other clutching his butt, because god, those pants. Their kiss was all teeth and tongue. They had never kissed like this before. Their one make out session was sweet and all other shared kisses were mostly chaste. Kurt moaned into Blaine's mouth and that instantly reminded them that they weren't alone. Blaine broke the kiss but made no effort to move away from Kurt. They stood there, pressed together, for a few more minutes while they caught their breath. Every few seconds Kurt would kiss Blaine again, no longer than a peck, but he really didn't want to leave those lips alone.

“Can I just say, I love the irony that we just made out in a closet,” Kurt broke the silence. Blaine's eyes were closed as he was focusing on cooling off but he let a good laugh. It was the first genuine laugh from Blaine that Kurt had heard and he smiled.

“You're so cheesy,” Blaine replied. A few minutes later both boys were in their pajamas and wrapped around each other under the covers. Blaine's head was on Kurt's chest, rising and falling with Kurt's breathing, and listening to his heartbeat. “How does it feel to be back home?”

“So good. And Nick is adorable! He looks so much like Finn. I hope he grows up with his mother's talent and his father's ability to care.”

That was the last thing said before both boys drifted off to sleep.

**

“UNCLE KURT! BLAINE!” Nick yelled as he ran down the stairs and jumped on their bed. Blaine started to stir and lifted his head from Kurt's chest.

“What's up buddy?” He asked.

“It's Thanksgiving!” Nick exclaimed excitedly.

“Yeah it certainly is,” Blaine responded and started shaking Kurt's arm to wake him. He didn't notice Burt standing at the top of the stairs watching him with a smile. As much as Burt didn't want to think about his son sleeping with someone, he really wanted his boy to be happy.

“Why is Kurt still sleeping?” Nick asked and started to shake him too.

“Because we were up late last night,” Blaine explained.

“Were you guys love hugging?” Nick asked. When he saw Blaine's eyebrows scrunch up in confusion he explained. “That's what my mommy said her and daddy did to get me. OOO, is Kurt going to have a baby?”

Blaine's face turned as red as a tomato. “No, we weren't having… I mean, we weren't love hugging. And Kurt can't have babies because he is not a girl.”

“Oh, so how will you two have babies and be daddies?”

“Well, um, there are a couple different ways…” Blaine started.

“Blaine what're you doing?” Kurt grumbled still half asleep.

“He's telling me how you guys are going to have babies,” Nick answered excitedly.

“No, I wasn't. I mean, I was but not because we are going to have kids. I mean maybe we will in the future or something-”

“Blaine,” Kurt cut him off his ramble. “Nick, why don't you go upstairs and tell everyone we'll be up in a little bit.”

“Okay uncle Kurt,” Nick said and ran up the stairs, bumping into his grandpa Burt at the top. Burt and Nick left Kurt's room.

“Good morning,” Kurt whispered and kissed Blaine's lips. Blaine responded and kissed Kurt back, opening his mouth a touch. Kurt's tongue was warm against his. He brought his hand up to cup Kurt's jaw and deepen the kiss. Kurt hummed happily against Blaine's lips. Blaine moved slowly so he was lying half on and half off Kurt, still kissing him. Kurt moved his hands to Blaine's hair and Blaine was beginning to suspect that that was their favorite place to rest, especially since there wasn't an ounce of gel in it anymore. Kurt was kissing him as if he were the taller boy's air supply.

Suddenly there was a loud pounding on the door and Burt's voice could be heard asking if they were decent. Blaine jumped off Kurt and across the bed so fast it was like he had been burned. Kurt laughed so hard he had tears in his eyes but he called up to his dad and told him they were indeed, decent.

Burt opened the door and climbed to the bottom of stairs. By this time Kurt had pulled Blaine back to him and the smaller boy's back was pressed to Kurt's chest. Kurt had his arms around Blaine's waist and kissed his cheek as Burt got to the bottom. Blaine blushed and the tips of his ears were red.

“Good morning Dad,” Kurt greeted his old man.

“Morning boys. Happy Thanksgiving.

“Morning Sir,” Blaine greeted.

“Call me Burt.”

“Yes, sir, I mean Burt.”

“It's almost as if you were the one in army training,” Kurt joked at Blaine's use of sir.

“I was just coming down to tell you it is nine o'clock. Carole is going to start dinner soon and the game starts in a half hour. Thought I should see if you were awake,” Burt said.

“Thanks. We were just about to get up. I'll see if I can help Carole. It'll be nice to cook again,” Kurt answered.

“You watch football, Blaine?” Burt asked him.

“Uh, yes, college and professional,” Blaine answered. Kurt could feel the younger boy's heartbeat speed up.

“What team?”

“I like the Buckeyes for college and the Detroit Lions for professional.”

“Not the Browns huh?” Burt asked. Of course Burt rooted for Ohio in both college and professional.

“No. I grew up in Ohio so I like the buckeyes, but I have a early memory of my mom and I watching the Lions on Thanksgiving.”

“Hmm. You should ask her why she likes the Lions when she lives in Ohio.”

“I would if I could. I have always wondered that myself. I don't actually know where she is though. She left when I was young.”

“Sorry to hear that,” Burt answered. Then he started back up the stairs. Kurt leaned over and kissed Blaine's ear. Then he climbed out of bed and walked over to his closet.

“Maybe I should wear that last outfit I tried on for you…” Kurt joked.

Blaine's eyes went darker at the thought but he only smiled and walked to the bathroom which adjoined to Kurt's room. Blaine felt more comfortable around Burt, but he still wanted to impress the older man. Blaine didn't know where his relationship with Kurt was going, but he hoped they would be together for a while longer at least.

When he walked back out he couldn't find Kurt so he ventured upstairs. He heard laughter in the kitchen and started walking towards the room when Nick came running out of a room Blaine hadn't seen before; he assumed it was the guest room. “You're up! You're up! Is uncle Kurt up too?”

“Yeah. He is around here somewhere,” Blaine answered and ran his hands through the hair of the little boy who was now attached to his legs.

“Let's go find him. Can you carry me like this?”

Blaine chuckled but agreed. He dragged the leg that Nick had wrapped himself around while supporting himself on his other one. He was about two feet from the entrance when Burt stepped out, a mug of black coffee in his hand. He chuckled at the sight of Blaine and Nick. “Kurt is in the kitchen Nick, why don't you go bother him,” Burt suggested.

“Okay Grandpa,” Nick said, which translates to a yell in toddler language. He jumped off Blaine's leg and ran into the kitchen. Blaine was about to follow him but Burt put his arm up, blocking Blaine's path. Then he gestured to the living room and gave him a look like ‘I dare you not to listen to me.'

Blaine swallowed nervously, maybe he wasn't as comfortable as he thought. He walked towards the living room and sat down on the couch. Burt turned the television on and turned it to the game. The Lions always played on Thanksgiving and Blaine noticed that that was the game Burt turned on. “So, Blaine, I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I gotta look out for my boy,” Burt started.

“I understand si-Burt,” Blaine responded. His eyes were on the floor while Burt's were on the television. Kick off was about to happen.

“With that being said, I want to know what your intentions are with my son.”

“Well, I intend to make him happy in any way I can. I hope to be with him for a long time but I've never done this before. I mean I've never been with anyone for long. Hell, I haven't even been with Kurt for long, but I want to be. There is something about him that just feels right.”

“Hm. I apologize for my rudeness, but it's not just because he is your last connection to your brother, right?”

“If I'm being honest, I think it was at first. Kurt could tell me things about my brother that I was robbed of knowing. Then we spent more time together and I really got to know him, and I want to keep getting to know him. I don't know what he wants though.”

“So I guess he is going back to New York with you then?” Blaine's eyes went wide. He hadn't even thought about what happens next. Sure, he and Kurt were dating, but it's not like they had actually gone out on a date. Kurt was home now, he had no reason to go back to New York. Blaine had to go, he had a job and a place. “Wow, calm down, Kid.” But told him and clapped a hand on his shoulder. “You two have plenty of time to talk about it. Now let's watch the game.”

Blaine gave Burt a half smile and looked at the television. The Lions had scored a field goal, but the Eagles had possession. Blaine couldn't focus on the television though. He was thinking about the future. He didn't know why it hadn't crossed his mind before, but this was the first time Kurt had seen his family in six years. Why would he want to go back to New York?

Kurt walked into the living room and held out a cup of coffee, but Blaine was so zoned out he didn't notice. “Blaine, Sweetie, are you alright?”

Blaine was shaken out of his thoughts at Kurt's voice. He turned and saw the steaming mug. “Oh yes, thank you,” Blaine answered. He took a sip and exclaimed, “that's delicious.”

“Glad you like it,” Kurt replied and kissed him on the cheek. Then Kurt looked up at the television. He moved his hand to Blaine's shoulder and Blaine placed his own over top of the taller boy's. Kurt noticed that his dad had turned it onto the Lions game instead of the Ohio game. He was proud of his dad, after all he knew how important it was for Burt to watch the game. “Yikes. The Eagles are down by three touchdowns and a field goal, they have a lot of catching up to do.”

Blaine hummed in agreement but Burt looked at his son as if an alien had invaded his body. “When did you learn the rules? I could never get you to watch the games with me.”

“I played in high school, dad, I always knew the rules.”

“You were the kicker and you played one game, Kurt.”
“Alright, fine. We had a crappy radio back at camp and it broadcasted the games. Cooper taught me the rules when we got really bored.”

Burt nodded and smiled. Blaine squeezed Kurt's hand and looked up at him with a smile on his face. Kurt leaned down and gave him a chaste kiss. “Well, why don't you come in watch it with us,” Burt suggested.

“Absolutely not. I am not that bored,” Kurt replied. He gave Blaine's hand one last squeeze and walked back towards the kitchen. Burt looked at Blaine and threw his hands up in defeat.

A couple hours later and the game was over. The Lions were victorious and the viewers were starved. “Let's go check the progress in the kitchen,” Blaine suggested. The two got up and walked into the kitchen. The room was filled with delectable smells. Burt walked over and kissed his wife. Blaine watched Nick and Kurt filling the pies. Nick had climbed on Kurt's back and was leaning over his shoulders in order to reach the counter.

“How was your game?” Carole asked.

“It was good,” Burt answered.

They finished up the pies and put them oven, taking the turkey out. “Dinner is ready. Burt, why don't you and Blaine set the table,” Carole suggested.
