“Mmm,” Kurt said in his sleepy state. He slowly blinked his eyes open. “Where am I?” His vision cleared and he realized he was on the couch, and he wasn’t alone. Blaine shifted underneath him and then shot straight up.
“Morning,” he said groggily.
“It’s one a.m.”
“Yeah, but it’s still morning.”
“Well that’s one way to spend the first night in our new house,” Kurt said. He and Blaine shared a soft smile. “Where is my room?”
“It's upstairs, first door. There is a bathroom connected to it which has a door leading into my room.”
“Fancy,” Kurt commented. “As comfortable as this couch is, I am going to go sleep in my bed.”
“Yeah, me too. I put all your stuff in your room and unpacked a little. You can move anything around.”
“Thanks,” Kurt said. He got up off the couch and he instantly missed Blaine’s warmth.
“We have a big day today,” Blaine said. Kurt raised an eyebrow at him so Blaine explained, “I am going to ask you to marry me.”
“How?” Kurt asked.
“That’s a surprise. But it will be very public, so look your best.”
“Don’t I always?”
“You certainly never look bad,” Blaine flirted. Kurt blushed and shifted from one foot to the other. Blaine got up and kissed Kurt’s cheek. “Goodnight, Kurt,” he whispered in the taller boy’s ear and then walked up the stairs.
Kurt took a deep breath to steady himself, then he turned and went to his room.

Kurt got a few more hours of sleep, but his brain wouldn't turn off. Blaine was going to propose to him. He should feel nervous or scared, but he doesn’t. He feels excited. He really likes Blaine. Of course he knows he and Blaine can never have a relationship, but he still enjoys spending time with the curly headed boy.
Kurt would be lying if he said he didn’t have sexy dreams about Blaine from time to time, and if he indulged in self pleasure during one of those dreams it was nobody’s business. Kurt climbed out of bed and walked over to his vanity that Blaine set up. He took extra time for his skin care routine. After all, today would be full of camera flashes.
He walked over to the closet and pulled out a tight pair of white jeans. He slipped them on and looked in the mirror, admiring the way they hugged his body perfectly. He pulled off his pajama shirt and started looking through his clothes to decide on a shirt. He heard a knock on his bedroom door. “Come in,” he called.
Blaine walked through the adjoining bathroom. Kurt hadn’t turned around, so he didn’t see Blaine freeze. Blaine took in the creamy skin of the taller boy. Often times Blaine thought back to the night they spent together. How beautiful Kurt was lying beneath him; the gorgeous sounds he made. “Hey, get anymore sleep?”
“Some, you?” Kurt asked, turning around with two shirts in his hands.
“Yeah, I got some.”
Kurt nodded and held up the shirts. “Which one is better for today’s events?”
Blaine was a little hurt, but he didn’t show it. Kurt just thought of today like another dinner or public outing, it wasn’t special. But then why would it be? Blaine thought to himself. “The left, it will really bring out your eyes.”
Kurt looked back at the two shirts, eyes lingering on the left. “You’re right!” After throwing the shirt on, Kurt sat on the edge of the bed. “So, what are we doing today?”
“Well, I figured we would start off simple. We could go eat breakfast at Tiffany’s. Then I would like to take you to the fashion district, so you can start getting ideas together for the wedding.”
“Oh! I actually have sketches,” Kurt said excitedly. When Blaine looked surprised he quickly added, “if that’s alright.”
“Of course. Will you need someone to sew it?” Blaine asked.
“I can do that. We need to talk details though. How big will the wedding be? Can I have a maid of honor? Can I invite my friends from high school? Is it going to have reporters?”
“Um, it’ll be pretty small, actually. Yes, you can invite all your friends from high school. If they can’t afford it then I will pay their way. Yeah, there will be reporters there.”
“Oh wow, they can’t say no to a free trip to New York. When do I get to meet your parents?”
“You don’t” Blaine said sharply. “I’m sorry. I didn't mean to snap. They’re not coming. My brother will be there however.”
“It’s the biggest day of your life. Surely your dad can pause whatever job he is on?”
“My dad is retired Kurt. He and my mother are living out their days in Italy. They call the son they’re proud of all the time. I am a disgrace.”
“Well, I am excited to meet your brother.”
Blaine let out a half smile, “be ready in an hour okay?”
Kurt nodded.

Breakfast was delicious, and though Kurt had sketches already, they walked hand in hand through the fashion district. A few reporters snapped pictures of the two. At first, Kurt had been bothered that they couldn’t walk through the city like normal people, but soon he just ignored them.
Blaine steered them towards Central Park and they strolled in between the giant buildings. When they got to the park, Blaine put his hand on Kurt’s lower back. Kurt smiled at him and rested his head on the shorter boy’s shoulder.
When he walked through the gate his breath was taken away. In front of Kurt was a path lined with rose petals. The path was quite long and weaved in and out of trees. Kurt looked at Blaine, question in his eyes. Blaine just smiled and kissed his forehead, giving him a soft push along the path. Kurt took the hint and started walking forward. Out from behind a nearby tree appeared Rachel, with a red rose in her hand. She gave the rose to Kurt and linked their arms, leading him to the next pit stop. Santana came out next, giving Kurt another rose. A little further down the path and Mercedes stepped out. Kurt’s jaw dropped and he hugged the girl tightly. Then further down Quinn came out. A little more walking revealed Tina. Soon Brittany was also with them. Then Mike, Puck, Artie, and Sam came out. Once Kurt reached the end of the path there was nothing.
At first he was confused, where did Blaine go? Then couple by couple, the former New Directions members lined up across from each other humming a soft tune. Kurt walked between all of them to find Blaine standing at the end. He smiled and his eyes filled with tears. He figured he needed to give a huge thanks to Rachel and Santana for helping Blaine, otherwise there was no way Blaine would know all of Kurt’s friends.
Blaine got down on one knee, and pulled out a small black box. “Kurt Hummel, getting to know you has been the highlight of my life. I have met just about every celebrity that exist, but I have never been as starstruck with any of them, like I have been with you. Meeting you cleared up a lot of messy areas in my life,” Blaine said with a wink and Kurt chuckled. “And I sure would love to keep you around. Will you do me the honor of spending the rest of your life with me?”
“Yes,” Kurt said. A tear trickled down his cheek as Blaine got up and slid the ring on his finger. The two shared a soft kiss and hugged tightly. “This was amazing, Blaine. Thank you.”
“Anything for you,” Blaine said quietly, looking him in the eyes. Kurt smiled and kissed him again.

MOVING FAST?
Just about two weeks ago we learned that Blaine Anderson had been hiding a boyfriend while we all thought he was single. The two were just seen hauling boxes to Blaine’s home in Brooklyn. Now, there is a proposal? Anderson has been a bachelor for as longs as he’s been famous, and now he’s getting hitched? There are just some things you never thought you’d see.
XX
The next week was busy. Kurt and Blaine had a bunch of public outings. They met with a wedding planner which Kurt immediately fired because he didn’t like any of her ideas. Blaine would never admit that the way in which Kurt bossed the girl around turned him on. Kurt took over planning the wedding down to the smallest of details. Every night after Blaine came home from meetings Kurt would ask him a different question. Black or White? Flowers? Cake flavor? Blaine answered whichever you think is best to all the questions.
Kurt’s days at vogue had become shorter. He had been putting in long hours in hopes of getting promoted, but now that he could focus on Broadway he didn’t need it. Blaine missed being able to walk over and see him, but Blaine was always meeting with his board in the mornings while Kurt was working.
Nick and Jeff were ecstatic. They had been helping Kurt plan every detail and were excited, as excited as one would be if the wedding were real. David and Wes kept an eye out for public events and things that would put them in the spotlight. Sebastian was still in charge of watching for nasty articles, ones that may pick up on their plan. So far there had been none, but Sebastian was thinking about changing that.

“Blaine, Ellen Degeneres called. She would like to know if you and Kurt would like to fly out to LA for an interview,” David said as Blaine walked in the office and set his briefcase down.
“You two should go, it’ll look really good!” Wes followed up.
Blaine was about to reply, but a high voice from behind him spoke up. “THE Ellen Degeneres!?” Blaine spun around and saw Kurt walk in behind him.
“Kurt, what’re you doing here?” Blaine asked, surprised to see him.
“Nick texted me. He said there was something we should discuss.”
“Yes, Kurt. The Ellen Degeneres,” David replied.
Kurt’s face lit up which made Blaine smile. “Wanna go?”
“Do I?” Kurt asked as if it was even a question. “I love her!!!”
Blaine chuckled as Kurt through his arms around the shorter boy. Then he hugged Wes and David. “Alright, you fly out in a few hours. You’ll tape the interview and it will air on tomorrow’s episode,” Wes informed them.
“What!? I need more time to get ready! See you at home Blaine,” Kurt said and ran out the door. Nick and Jeff laughed.
“Someone has fallen in love,” Nick sang in a teasing voice, giving Blaine a pointed look.
Sebastian looked over from the corner. Had Blaine really fallen in love with that obnoxiously gay boy. “Huh? Kurt is just a good actor, he doesn’t love me,” Blaine answered.
“Not Kurt you Dummie,” Nick said.
“Well, yes Kurt loves you, it’s obvious, but Nick meant you are in love with him,” Jeff explained.
“No I am not!” Blaine stammered.
“Oh, you got it bad,” David teased.
“Are you guys actually going to see if this could be the real thing?” Wes asked.
“No. He wanted to, at the beginning I think. I really don’t want to complicate things between us though, and I told him that,” Blaine explained.
“Ouch,” all four boys said in unison.
“You think it was too harsh?” Blaine asked, now nervous.
“Of course it wasn’t,” Sebastian spat. All five turned to look at him. “What? Blaine’s right. A relationship between them could go horribly wrong and ruin everything we’ve set up in the last week.”
“But it could also go fantastically right,” Jeff said.
“You should go pack a bag, Blaine. Have fun in LA,” Sebastian said pushing him out the door.
Blaine nodded and left without another word. His mind kept going back to Jeff’s words. What if he and Kurt were the real deal?
XX
“Welcome to LA,” Blaine said as he came up behind Kurt. Kurt had been standing in front of a window in Blaine’s dressing room. It didn’t show much, just the other lots filming television shows. Kurt was still infatuated with the sight, after all this was the first time he’d been to LA.
“It’s crazy to think that this is where pretty much everything happens!” Kurt said excitedly. Blaine smiled, he admired Kurt’s naivete. What Kurt didn’t realize was Hollywood is just as cutthroat and hard to break into as New York.
A knock on the door told them they’d be on in five minutes. Blaine looked in the mirror one last time and turned back to Kurt. The taller boy had turned white. “Kurt, are you okay?”
Kurt turned and looked at Blaine. “I was so distracted by the idea of meeting Ellen, I didn’t think about the types of questions she’d be asking,” Kurt admitted.
Blaine grabbed his hand and squeezed it. “If you can’t think of an answer, just duck your head and blush. Ellen is good about not pushing questions that don’t want to be answered.”
“Easy for you to say! You’ve been on tv. You’ve done hundreds of interviews. I have never done anything like this.”
“It’s going to be great. I promise,” Blaine reassured. Then the door opened and one of Ellen’s assistants came in and got the boys. Kurt clutched Blaine’s hand tightly as they walked out. An incredibly popular song which Blaine produced was playing as they walked out. Kurt was overthinking everything, so when Blaine spun him around, he lost his balance.
Blaine was prepared for such a reaction and dipped Kurt back, making it look like a part of the plan. Kurt smiled at him gratefully as Blaine whispered “breathe” into his ear.
“Hello boys!” Ellen greeted. She stood up and kissed their cheeks.
“Hello, Ellen. It has been awhile,” Blaine said, sitting down. Kurt smiled at her and sat down next to Blaine, still clutching his hand. Blaine ran a thumb over the back of Kurt’s hand, hoping to sooth him.
“Well you just had to move off to New York; now I never get to see you anymore,” Ellen said with a teasing smile.
“I’d apologize, but I really can’t,” Blaine said and lifted Kurt’s hand in the air, showing off his shimmery engagement ring.
“Congratulations!” Ellen said and the audience cheered. “So, Kurt, how did you manage to land the most desired bachelor?”
“Oh, well we crossed paths one day and, the rest is history,” Kurt said, his voice was shaky from nerves.
“We literally crossed paths,” Blaine said expanding on Kurt’s story. “He was leaving Vogue as I was leaving the office and we collided.”
The audience laughed and Ellen’s jaw dropped. “So what happened after that?”
Kurt and Blaine shared a smile and Blaine answered. “I helped him pick up the magazines he dropped, and then took him to dinner in apology.”
“We started talking about work and I was just fascinated by Blaine’s job. We decided to see where this would go and, well, here we are!” Kurt added.
“Wow! And Kurt you work for Vogue?” Ellen asked, genuinely curious.
“Well I intern there. I have helped create a few lines. My sights are set on Broadway though.”
“Well, good luck with Broadway! And Blaine, how has New York been besides the fiance?” Ellen asked politely.
“It has been great! There is a lot of talent there!”
“I bet there’s talent everywhere, we just have to find it! So I understand you two hid your relationship for some time?”
“We did,” Kurt nodded.
“Yeah, you know it was new and we didn't really want reporters to bother us. We wanted to see if what we felt for each other was genuine,” Blaine said, looking at Kurt. Kurt blushed under his stare but smiled.
“And tell me about the wedding?” Ellen said.
Kurt lit up at the mention of sharing all the details he had been planning. “Well, it is next week,” he started.
“Next week? What are you doing here?”
“You invited us and Kurt here is a huge fan so we couldn’t pass it up!” Blaine said. The fangirl in Kurt reddened.
“Aw, I am flattered. We have to take a break, but we will be back with Blaine and Kurt!” Ellen said to the side camera. Then the producers signaled to them that they were off air. Kurt let out a deep breath. Ellen told him he was doing great and then went to get her Covergirl makeup touched up. Blaine smiled and kissed Kurt’s cheek. “Hey?” Ellen asked, coming back over. “Are you guys up for a game?”
“Sure,” Blaine answered.
“What kind of game?” Kurt asked skeptically.
“You’ll see,” Ellen said mischievously and disappeared again. A few minutes passed and the directors signaled that they were back on. “Welcome back, and if you’re just tuning in, how dare you miss the first half of my show,” Ellen said, glaring jokingly into the camera lens. “Right now we’re with the hottest couple Kurt and Blaine. They’re about to play a game we set up just for them. It’s time for...THE NEWLYWED GAME.”
Kurt shot a nervous look at Blaine. Blaine returned it. If they answered questions wrong then the whole thing could fall apart. “But we’re not even married yet,” Blaine said. He played it off as a joke but inside he was screaming that Ellen change her mind.
No luck. “Close enough!” Ellen said as her assistants came out and pulled the two apart. Kurt and Blaine were led to opposites sides of a thick wall. Each sat down and was given a poster and marker. “Alright, I am going to ask a question and I want you to write down your partner’s answer. First one, does your partner have any tattoos?”
Kurt breathed a sigh of relief, he and Blaine had talked about this already. He quickly scrawled no across the poster and held it up. Blaine wrote yes down on his and held it up. “Anderson, you don’t have any tattoos?”
“No, I don’t.”
“Interesting. Where is Kurt’s tattoo?”
“Ah, the world will never know,” Blaine said with a teasing tone. Kurt blushed brightly, imagining the ideas forming in viewers heads.
Ellen laughed and moved on. “What is your partner’s favorite accessory?” Kurt had never seen the inside of Blaine’s closet. He had no idea. He did remember that back in high school he had been obsessed with seeing what new bow tie the boy would be wearing, so he wrote that down and hoped for the best. Blaine thought for a moment. He wrote down his best guess and just hoped he was right.
“Alright, Kurt you said bowties. Is he right, Blaine?”
Blaine looked a little surprised but nodded. “Yeah! I haven’t worn one in awhile but I will always have a bowtie shaped hole in my heart.” The audience laughed.
“Alright, Kurt, Blaine said that your favorite accessory is a scarf. Is he right?”
Kurt’s face erupted into a huge grin. Blaine really did know him. “Yes.”
“It better be considering how many boxes full of scarves I lugged to our house!” Blaine joked.
Ellen laughed, “Okay, final question.” Kurt and Blaine both sucked in a breath of relief. They were almost done. “What turns your partner on?” Kurt’s eyes grew wide. He had no idea what turned Blaine on. The one time they had sex, Blaine made it all about Kurt. Blaine had no idea what to write either. Kurt was inexperienced, which wasn;t a bad thing, it just meant he didn’t really know what he liked. “What’s that, Andy?” Ellen asked her producer. “Oh, I see. Well, this is a family show and my producer has just informed me that I can’t ask that on television,” Ellen said with a wink in their direction. “That’s all the time we have for today, folks. I’d like to thank tWitch, Kurt Hummel, Blaine Anderson, and you for watching! Be kind to one another.”
Kurt and Blaine came out from behind their sides of the wall. Neither was able to look at the other. They both knew that the other had thought about that night. Despite not making eye contact, Blaine still pulled Kurt into his side and tucked an arm around him. Kurt kissed his temple and then the cameras went off. They both thanked Ellen and Kurt got a picture with her. Soon the boys were on a plane headed back to New York. Neither boy had mentioned the final question, but both knew it was something they should talk about. Some other time, they each thought.

A tall boy walked up to a lonely reporter sitting at the bar. “Why don’t I buy you a drink?”
The reporter looked up and saw a man he vaguely recognized. “Do I know you?”
The man snorted. “Do you know Blaine Anderson? Well I work for him.”
The reporter nodded and realized he had seen this boy in the background of photos taken of Anderson. “What do you want?”
“Oh, I don’t want anything. You didn’t see me here and we’ve never met,” Sebastian said. “But if you want a story, do some research on the upcoming wedding. You just might find some discrepancies.” Sebastian said. Before the reporter could ask questions, Sebastian walked out of the bar.

Things Aren’t Always What They Seem
A close friend of Blaine Anderson’s expressed concern about the wedding over the weekend. This unnamed source said that he hopes Blaine is happy, but hanging around the engaged couple doesn’t put off that vibe. Blaine Anderson is an Italian immigrant whose citizen status is almost up, could this wedding be sham? Maybe poor Kurt Hummel is being played, or maybe they’re both in on it. Whatever the case, this wedding is suspicious.
