DISCLAIMER: I regretfully inform you all that I do not own Glee or any of the characters. They still belong to Ryan and Fox.

It had been about a week and a half since Blaine initially woke up. The doctor said within the next couple of days he would be allowed to go home.

Kurt was back in school, but spent almost every night at the hospital with Blaine.

Kurt was getting anxious because nationals were coming up and he wasn't going. He watched as his friends sang and danced on the stage in preparation, but they hadn't chosen a set list yet.

Every second Kurt wasn't at the hospital he wanted to be. He would sneak in some of Blaine's favorite foods and drinks.

In the middle of the night Kurt would crawl into the bed and the two of them try to make out on the bed. It was a difficult task because Blaine was still having a hard time moving and was in a little pain, but they managed to find the perfect position.

Kurt would fling his legs over Blaine's and they would turn their faces towards each other. Blaine's hands always ended up down Kurt's pants in the back and up his shirt in the front.

They both had to make sure it didn't go any further, no matter how much they wanted it. Blaine still wasn't supposed to let his heart rate go up and his breathing needed to stay pretty steady. Unfortunately, with Kurt almost sitting on his lap it was proving to be a very difficult task. When they heard his heart monitor beeping fast Kurt would slide off and into the chair next to the bed. So the nurse wouldn't rush in and see them groping each other on the bed.

At McKinley Kurt had left early for the day, before glee club, and went to the hospital.

“Okay, we need to finalize our set list.” Mr. Shue told the class.

“Mr. Shue, we had an idea.” Finn started.

“We want to dedicate the performance to Kurt and Blaine.” Puck added.

“Really?” Mr. Shue asked.

“Yeah, they've both been through a lot and we figured since Blaine is gonna be going to school here next year it wouldn't be really inappropriate.” Finn concluded.

“I think that's a great idea; whether or not Blaine ever went to McKinley. He's a friend.” Mr. Shue agreed with the class. “So songs about strength and overcoming?” He asked. The class nodded in agreement. “I'm open to suggestions.”

The class began to throw out song titles over top of each other.

“Mr. Shue, I think I have the perfect song.” Sam stood up and said.

“Let's start.” Mr. Shue said.

Kurt came into Blaine's hospital room with a bag of fast food. “I come baring gifts.”

“You are my favorite person.” Blaine said reaching for the bag of food.

“As I should be. Here.” He gave him that bag and Blaine immediately started to shove five or six French fries into his mouth.

“I love you so much.” Blaine said with his mouth full.

“Swallow first.” Kurt said pulling the chair to Blaine's side.

“What's up, squirt?” Cooper asked as he walked into the room. Blaine looked at him while shoving a hamburger in his mouth. “The boyfriend knows you far too well.”

“I ate that damn hospital food for two weeks myself. I understand his frustration.” Kurt laughed.

“Knock. Knock.” They heard at the door. Kurt turned around to see Hector Smith.

“Mr. Smith?” Kurt asked rather shocked that the attorney was at the hospital.

“Kurt. Blaine.” He said.

“Who are you?” Blaine asked him.

“My name is Hector Smith; I'm the prosecuting attorney in your father's case.” He said walking into the room completely. “I'd like to ask you a few questions.”

“Can this wait until he's out of the hospital?” Cooper asked. “Two days. That's all.” Cooper pleaded.

“Where are you going to be staying?” Hector asked Blaine.

“With my guardians.” Blaine really didn't want to talk to this guy. He didn't want to talk to any adult man unless it was his brother, Burt, or the doctor. He was having a hard time trusting other people, unless he knew them.

“My parents.” Kurt added. “We'll be home on Friday.”

Hector didn't want to argue with the boys so he simply nodded and left the room.

“I don't want to talk to him.” Blaine said as soon as the door shut.

“B, you have to.” Kurt told him stealing a couple of his French fries.

“I don't want to.” Blaine said sternly. “I don't want to relive any of that ever again.”

“The sad truth is, Blainey, they might call you to testify at the trial.” Cooper told him. “Until he is behind bars with a verdict you could be reliving that night for a while.”

“Why? We know what happened.” Blaine asked.

“It's formality.” Cooper told him. “They have enough evidence against him to put him in prison for life. And a trial could easily be avoided if he would just plead guilty.”

“Why doesn't he? He knows he doesn't have a chance.” Kurt said.

“That's the thing. When I talked to him right after I got here. He had it in his mind that he was going to get off with a slap on the wrist.” Cooper explained to his brother.

“What?” Blaine yelped. Kurt heard his heart rate monitor start to quicken.

“Enough of this conversation.” He said hoping to calm Blaine down. “Blaine, finish your lunch.”

“Yes, sir.” Blaine said sarcastically to his boyfriend.

Kurt ushered Cooper out of the room. “I'm going home to put together Blaine's room. Please no talk about your dad his heart rate needs to stay down.”

“Can I make a suggestion then?” Cooper asked.

“What?”

“While he's on the heart monitors and still in the hospital sitting on his lap probably isn't a good way to be seen by the staff.” Cooper smiled a cheeky smile.

“How do you know?”

“Kurt, I'm not blind. I'll walk up here and not come in because I see you two going at each other.” Cooper chuckled. Kurt was blushing. “Man, it's no big deal. It's been a while apparently.”

“Don't tell my dad, please. He hates to think of me growing up.” Kurt pleaded with Cooper.

“I'll keep your dirty, dirty little secret.” Cooper made kissy faces at Kurt.

“Stop.” Kurt said with a beat red face. “I'm leaving now.” Kurt walked back into the room where Blaine had just finished what Kurt brought him to eat. “I'm heading out for a few hours.” He told Blaine.

“What? Why?” Blaine asked looking very sad.

“My dad is letting me go get stuff and set up your room at the house.” Kurt told him. “I'll be back later.” Kurt leaned down and kissed him “I love you.”

“Love you too.” Blaine said as he watched Kurt's ass walk out the door.

“You shouldn't stare little brother and if you're going to; don't be so obvious.” Cooper chuckled as he walked back into the room.

“What?” Blaine snapped back to reality and looked towards his brother.

“Stop staring at Kurt's ass.” Cooper told him.

Blaine blushed.

“Mr. Shue, can we try to get a video or some live feed so they can this us perform?” Finn asked in between rehearsals for nationals.

“That's a great idea.” Mr. Shue exclaimed. “I can sit with my laptop and we can Skype them. Who wants to make the speech?” He asked.

Rachel's hand went up. “I think Finn should.” Santana said. “Kurt is his brother. Finn and Puck helped rescue Blaine. It seems fitting.”

“You're right, Santana.” Mr. Shue agreed. Santana shot Rachel a smug look before turning towards Mr. Shue looking very proud of herself.

With only two days left to rehearsal the group immediately began to run through their numbers again. They knew that they couldn't waste any time before the competition.

The way Finn was concentrating on his notebook while Kurt brought stuff into the house for Blaine's room made him suspect Finn was up to something. He knew he wasn't studying and he'd never looked that into a piece of sheet music before. It was odd. “What are you doing?” Kurt asked on his fourth trip into the house.

“What? Um, nothing.” Finn said quickly closing his notebook.

“You look like you could use some help.” Kurt said walking into the living room.

“No, I'm fine. When's Blaine coming home?”

“Um, tomorrow. I actually have a couple of things I might need help bringing inside for his room. Could you help me?” Kurt asked walking back out the door.

Finn followed him. “Where's Burt's office going to be?”

“In the basement. He decided it was best if Blaine was on the main level of the house instead on beneath it.” Kurt said taking a few bags out of the car and setting them on the ground. “Here with this.” Kurt said starting to pull out a large box.

“What did you buy?” Finn asked.

“Things for Blaine's bedroom. Honestly, I just want a fresh start for him. Nothing of Westerville and his parents to be dragged into future happiness for us.” Kurt told him.

“Kurt, Westerville is always going to be a part of Blaine. Even when you guys got back to New York.” Finn told him.

“For right now; Westerville is nothing.” Kurt said as they set the box down. “Do you know how to put this together?”

“I'll call Puck and he can help.” Finn said and walked out of the room.

It took several hours for Kurt to put Blaine's room together perfectly. He had bought a navy blue comforter and light blue sheets. The curtains matched the rest of the dcor. There was a large dresser and a desk. He mounted a television on the wall.

Kurt had gone back and retrieved all of Blaine's clothes from the house in Westerville. He was shocked at the color in Blaine's wardrobe. He arranged the room perfectly in his mind. Everything was perfect. Now, it only needed Blaine in it.

Kurt went back to the hospital that night so he could spend some alone time with Blaine before they headed home the next day.

When he got there it was fairly late so he wasn't surprised when Blaine was alone watching TV.

“What the hell? You've been gone for six hours.” Blaine said as soon as Kurt walked in the door.

“I had to do some stuff for your room. I want it to feel like home.” Kurt said setting his bag down by Blaine's bed. “I'm sorry it took so long.”

“There is only one way to make it up to me.” Blaine said removing his blanket telling Kurt to lie down.

Kurt noticed they had taken all of the machines off of Blaine. “You're not hooked up anymore.”

“No, they unplugged me to be sure I can make it through the night without them. Which means you're gonna come over here and not worry about a stupid machine beeping so loud we have to slow down.” Blaine said reaching his arm out for Kurt.

“They're going to be checking on you every ten minutes.” Kurt said not moving.

“So we go for ten minutes break for five and repeat.” Blaine laughed still trying to get Kurt to lie down with him.

“You're gonna get me into so much trouble, Mr. Anderson.” Kurt said crawling into bed with him.

“I don't care.” Blaine said pulling Kurt in for a kiss.

“Are you sure you're fine?” Kurt asked pulling away.

“Babe, you never put any pressure on me that is gonna hurt me. You're already far too careful about this.” Blaine said connecting his mouth to Kurt's neck.

“B-b-b-b-Blaine.” Kurt spat out. “You're still pretty broken and tomorrow we'll be in a larger bed and my dad won't be in town.” Kurt said.

“So…”

“So, let's just rest tonight.” Kurt said.

“No, kissing?”

“No.” Kurt said. “But we are going to lie here and cuddle because you love me.”

“Only because I love you so much.” Blaine said.

Kurt's phone started to buzz. “Probably Rachel telling me they've left for New York.”

“You could have gone.” Blaine said knowing how badly Kurt wanted to perform at nationals with his friends.

“No, I couldn't have. My jaw feels fine now, but you're still in this bed.” Kurt said checking his phone. “Which means I'm not completely healed yet. Plus, who would have brought you all that food?” He giggled.

“That is a good point. I'm glad you stayed with me, but I can see how much it hurts not to go.” Blaine said stroking Kurt's hair.

“It does hurt; a little.” Kurt started. “But I'd rather be here making sure you're okay. Next year we'll go together.” Kurt gave him a quick yet passionate kiss.

They both lied back and fell asleep one last time in the hospital.

The next morning before Blaine and Kurt had even woken up Burt and Carole were filling out all of the paper work to take Blaine home.

They brought a new pair of clothes for him to put on for the long ride home.

Cooper had booked a new hotel room closer to Lima.

Kurt helped Blaine get dress while everyone waited outside the room. Blaine kept making inappropriate noises and saying dirty things into Kurt's ear.

“Knock it off.” Kurt scolded through his teeth.

“I'm sorry, but it's turning me on.” Blaine said with a cheeky smile.

“You're dressed. Sit down.” Kurt said walking out of the room so the nurse knew it was clear to bring Blaine the wheelchair.

She wheeled Blaine out of the hospital and to the car to take him home. “Make sure he doesn't go wondering alone. He still might have some spells. Not likely, but possible.” She told the family. They all nodded in acknowledgement.

Kurt helped Blaine into the back of the vehicle and they headed up to Lima.

“As soon as we get to the house I need my hair gel.” Blaine said to Kurt.

Burt and Carole laughed.

“No, you need to take a shower.” Kurt told him. “Well, they said bath, but you still need it.”

“Ground rules.” Burt said. “Number one: at night you sleep in your own rooms. Kurt upstairs and Blaine downstairs. Two: all four hands must be visible at all times.”

“Holding hands and around the shoulders is completely okay.” Carole chimed in.

“Three.” Burt started up again. “Tongues belong in your own mouths.” Kurt and Blaine looked at each other and smiled knowing full well that rule wasn't going to be obeyed. “Lastly, Blaine we just want you to feel at home.”

“I'm sure I will.” Blaine responded taking Kurt's hand in his own. “What's the plan for tonight?” Blaine asked very excited.

“I have to take Burt to the airport tonight and I believe you two have a Skype date with some friends in New York.” Carole said.

“But a bath first.” Kurt said.

Blaine leaned over to Kurt and tried to whisper. “Only if you join me.” Burt cleared his throat. “What? You never made that a rule.”

“None of that!” Burt said sternly.

Kurt chuckled in the backseat knowing that Blaine was gonna try again.

They finally got home and Kurt's parents immediately left for the airport. “Alright, let's try to get you really clean.” Kurt laughed grabbing some comfortable clothes for Blaine to put on after his bath..

Kurt filled the bottom of the tub with water; only about three inches.

“How are you planning on doing this? You gonna get in with me?” Blaine asked hopefully.

“No, but I am going to help.” Kurt said getting towels out for Blaine. “Take off your clothes.”

“It's been so long since I've heard you say that.” Blaine laughed trying to get his shirt off and failing. “I need help.” He pouted.

“You're cute.” Kurt said walking over to help Blaine. Kurt help Blaine strip down to nothing and got him over to the bathtub. He helped Blaine slowly sit down without falling over. “Let me take off my shirt and pants. Just a sec.” Kurt said stepping away. “You're just gonna try to get me wet.”

“True.” Blaine smiled at his watched Kurt tease him by taking off his clothes very slowly. He knew he should look away, but couldn't bring himself to. It had been so long since he'd seen Kurt without his clothes on and he rather enjoyed it.

Kurt sat down on the edge of the bathtub behind Blaine and attempted to help him bathe. After almost an hour of bathing Kurt stood up to dry off and put his clothes back on. He drained the bathtub and handed Blaine the towel so he could dry off as much as possible. Kurt helped him stand in the tub and dried his legs. Blaine slowly got dressed. “Still being stiff and sore is making my life very difficult.” He said struggling to put his shirt on. Kurt only laughed as he helped his pouting boyfriend.

“Do you want to sit in the living room or your bedroom while watching nationals?” Kurt asked as they walked out of the bathroom.

“Bedroom.”

“No funny business.” Kurt said firmly. “I'm responsible for you and you're not getting hurt.”

The two of them got comfortable with come popcorn on Blaine's bed and opened up Kurt's laptop. They patiently waited for Mr. Shue to call them on Skype.

Mr. Shue finally called. “Hi, Kurt. You're not at the hospital?”

“We got home today.” Kurt told his teacher.

“Say ‘hi' everyone!” Mr. Shue said holding the computer so the entire glee club could see Kurt and Blaine. The boy sitting on the bed waved back to them. “Show circle!” Mr. Shue announced.

Mr. Shue set the computer down on a chair and the group gathered around making sure Kurt and Blaine could see.

Mr. Shue gave his usual inspiring speech and they all left the room. Mr. Shue was allowed to sit in the isle so he could get a good angle on the group for Kurt and Blaine.

“Up next from William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio, the New Directions!” The announcer said.

Finn and Rachel walked out onto the stage. The intro to Beautiful by Christina Aguilera started playing. Kurt and Blaine looked at each other knowing that their friends chose songs that give them strength and to show the boys that as long as they're together no one can hurt them.

The song ended and Finn came up to the front of the stage. “We want to dedicate this performance to a member who isn't here tonight and a really great friend. You guys have been through so much in the last few months and didn't let anything stop you. We thank you for showing us what strength is. We love you guys. This is for you Kurt and Blaine.” Finn said and walked back to join the rest of the group on the stage.

Kurt and Blaine laid in Blaine's bed with tears in their eyes. They looked at each other astonished that the glee club did that for them.

Finally the music started again and Kelly Clarkson's Stronger started to play. The group sang the song and danced on the stage better than Kurt and Mr. Shue had ever seen them.

They were up there for someone. To tell them that everything was going to be okay. They were finally singing with a purpose. Not just to win the competition but to inspire their injured friends sitting at home.

By the time the song was finished the entire glee club, Mr. Shue, and the boys at home were crying.

The groups waited for the winner to be announced anxiously. Kurt was biting his nails while Blaine tried to get him to relax.

Finally they were called back and the winner was announced. The New Directions looked at each other in utter disappointment. They thought they had to competition in the bag. The kids comforted each other and Mr. Shue. Blaine hugged Kurt tightly.

Although Blaine wasn't a member of the New Directions they were still his friends. He wanted them to win as much as they wanted to. Especially after they dedicated the performance to him and Kurt. They looked amazing and sounded great, but it just wasn't enough.

“You guys were amazing.” Kurt told them through the computer screen.

“Just because the…” Blaine started.

“This one wasn't about winning.” Finn cut off Blaine. “This one about you guys. Sure, we wanted to win, but for you.” Finn told the boys on the computer screen.

“You showed us how to be strong and we wanted to thank you.” Quinn added.

“You guys were amazing and what you said Finn was touching. Thank you.” Kurt said to his friends. “We love you guys, but Blaine just got home from the hospital today and needs to rest.”

“I'm fine.” Blaine said as Kurt rolled his eyes. “You know that little square in the corner is us and I can see you giving me those looks.” Blaine said looking at Kurt through the screen.

“Whatever.” Kurt said. “But you guys were really amazing and we loved the performance. It was perfect.”

“Special.” Blaine added. “I never thought I'd feel so much love from people I barely know. You guys are a great group of people. I can't wait to join.” Blaine said with a huge goofy smile on his face.

“We're excited to have you.” Mr. Shue told him. “Now get some rest. We want you fully recovered soon.” Mr. Shue smiled at the boys.

“I'm in good hands.” Blaine said and Kurt smiled. “Carole should be home soon.” Blaine laughed and Kurt smacked his arm.

They all said goodbye to each the boys and the video call ended. “I still really wanted to win.” Sam said quietly.

“We all did.” Mike added.

Kurt closed the laptop and set it aside on the bed. He saw the tears in Blaine's eyes. The New Directions dedicating their performance to them was something Blaine had never thought they would do; Kurt either. It was so special and amazing of them to do. Kurt turned Blaine's face towards him and gave him the lightest of kisses. “They should have won.” Blaine said. “They were so much better than all of the other groups.” He started to go on a rant. “They sang with more emotion and talent. I mean all you have to do is listen to Rachel and you know they're better than everyone else. So what if most of them can't dance. The Warblers won all the time and all we ever did was sway.”

“Blaine. Blaine.” Kurt cut him off. “They were better, but a lot of times these things just aren't fair.” He continued. “And if you ever tell Rachel that she is better than everyone else, we're done. Her ego doesn't need any more stroking.” Kurt laughed.

“Alright.” Blaine said leaning in for another sweet but short kiss.

Kurt could see that Blaine was starting to get tired. “You should get some sleep. My dad told the lawyer he could come talk to you tomorrow. Carole will be here and so will Cooper and I. We won't let him ask you anything that doesn't need to be answered.”

“I really don't want to talk to him. Why does it matter? Isn't there enough evidence about what happened to put him in prison for life?”

“More than enough, B, but it's formality. I didn't want to talk to him either, but he has to do it.” Kurt said messing with the collar on Blaine's pajamas. “As soon as you're uncomfortable just nudge me and we'll leave the room.” Kurt told him.

“You're so good to me.” Blaine said putting his head on Kurt's shoulder.

“You are falling asleep.” Kurt chuckled and went to help Blaine lay down.

“I'm hungry.” Blaine said as Kurt grabbed the pillow to prop his arm up.

“I'll make you something to eat. What do you want?” Kurt said making sure Blaine was lying comfortably.

“I don't care.” Blaine said his eyes slowly starting to close.

“Okay, just stay awake until it's ready.” Kurt laughed.

“Okay.” Blaine said.

Kurt knew that there was no chance Blaine was going to stay awake for him to make him something to eat, but he was hungry as well and decided to make some food. Maybe Blaine would wake up to the smell. He went to the kitchen and started making himself and Blaine something to eat.

“I am so in love with you.” Blaine said as he slowly walked into the kitchen.

“You are supposed to be in bed.” Kurt said walking over to him and helping him sit down. “You need to rest.”

“What I needed was to watch you.” Blaine said with a smirk and a light pat to Kurt's ass.

“Sweet or creepy?” Kurt laughed.

Blaine stuck his tongue out at Kurt. “I like watching you cook. You really enjoy it. Just like I love watching you sing. You get a look in your eyes that shows me how much you love something.”

“Do I?” Kurt asked looked over at Blaine.

“Just like that.” Blaine said pointing his finger at Kurt.

“What am I looking at the Ilove so much?” Kurt joked.

“You can be mean.” Blaine said with a pout.

Kurt put their food on plates and sat down next to Blaine at the table.

They ate their dinner and Kurt helped Blaine get back into bed comfortably.

“You know what would make this bed the most appealing bed in the world?” Blaine winked at Kurt.

“You are unbelievable sometimes. You know that?” Kurt said as he stood up from Blaine's bed.

“That sounds very familiar, but the last time you said it you were having a hard time breathing.” Blaine said with a cheeky grin.

“You're lucky you're recovering from a coma right now.” Kurt told him not realizing what he had said.

“You're gonna say that to me?” Blaine asked a little over dramatically.

Kurt didn't notice he just realized that he practically threatened Blaine. “I'm so sorry.” He immediately apologized to Blaine.

Blaine only laughed. “Kurt, I was joking.” He said. “Come here. All I want is to lie next to you.” Blaine said lifting up the covers inviting Kurt in. “Please.”

“How can I say ‘no' to you?” Kurt said crawling into the bed with Blaine.

“Thank you for taking such good care of me.” Blaine said as Kurt settled into his arms resting his head on Blaine's chest.

“That's what you do for the person you love.” Kurt said placing a light kiss on Blaine's chest.

“So you do love me?” Blaine asked and chuckled.

Kurt lightly hit Blaine's rib cage and he winced at the touch. “Sorry. Did that hurt?” Kurt asked looking up at his boyfriend.

“No, I thought it would, but no. I'm fine.” Blaine said rubbing Kurt's back. “Perfect actually.”

They both wrapped their arms tightly around each other and slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next morning Carole had gone to get Finn from McKinley and left Kurt and Blaine alone. They knew she would be gone for a few hours so they had breakfast and Kurt helped Blaine shower.

Blaine insisted on taking an actual shower knowing that Kurt was going to have to get fully undressed to assist him. He didn't want to tell Kurt that he really didn't need his help, but they both enjoyed a comfortable shower together. Plus, Kurt would wrap his arms around him from behind holding him firmly against his body and there was no way Blaine was giving that up anytime soon.

They sat down on the couch after Kurt had made lunch and cuddled up together. Kurt wrapped his arm around Blaine's shoulders and because Blaine wasn't putting gel in his hair Kurt was able to run his fingers through his boyfriend's curly hair.

Around two o'clock Carole and Finn were home and the lawyer was sitting in their living room.

Kurt sat with Blaine on the couch holding onto his hand tightly. Cooper sat to the right of them in the armchair. Carole was to their left and Mr. Smith was directly in front of the two boys.

“Blaine, I know you don't want to answer these questions.” He started. Blaine only nodded in response. “We need to know what you remember from when you were in the building with your father and psychiatrist.” He calmly told Blaine.

“I don't remember much.” Blaine said honestly. After his mother left the room everything was sort of a blur. He knew his father had killed Dr. Briggs, but he couldn't tell them exactly how. Everything ran together then the electricity started to run through him and he remembered nothing after that. Besides sending Kurt one last text saying how much he loved him.

“Let's start from the beginning.” He directed towards Blaine. “You left school and headed for?”

“I don't know.” Blaine said sharply. Kurt gave him a gentle nudge telling him to be polite. “I don't know where they took me. It just wasn't home.” He said in a calmer voice.

“After that; what did you do?”

“They stopped the car and got out. They were arguing about something, I don't know what, and I took pictures of the area and sent them to Kurt.” Blaine explained sounding extremely annoyed with the questions.

“Don't stop for me.” Mr. Smith told the teen.

“They pulled me up a ton of stairs. Strapped me to a chair.” Kurt could see that Blaine was beginning to have severe flashbacks. He took Blaine's hand and held it as tightly as he could without hurting him. “They showed me photos of gay men and put freezing pads and burning pads on my hands.” Blaine looked down to his scarred hands.

This was almost too much for Kurt to take. He could see it in Blaine's eyes that he wasn't going to make it through the entire story without breaking. He simply scooted closer to Blaine and held him close reminding him that he was still right there next to him.

“I remember my mom coming in and trying to explain why they were doing what they were doing. I told her to leave.” Blaine paused for a moment while the tears collected in his eyes. “I heard her scream then my dad and Dr. Briggs came back into the room.” He stopped.

“What happened next?” Mr. Smith was beginning to grow impatient knowing that Blaine was starting to slow the pace of the story.

“Give him a minute.” Cooper interjected.

“Dr. Briggs said something and I saw my dad kill him with a board or something.” Blaine said letting the tears fall at the memory of watching his father killing a man. He dropped his head into Kurt's chest and let his boyfriend hold him there so tightly he couldn't move. He didn't want to move. He wanted to have Kurt hold him forever because when he had Kurt's arms around him he was safe.

“Blaine?” Mr. Smith said.

“Seriously?” Cooper started. “Let him have five minutes and tell you this at his own pace. He's sort of been through a lot.”

Blaine lifted his head. “He put needles into my hands and began to shock me. We exchanged words of hatred. Then he took me to the car. I sent Kurt a text because I was sure I was never going to see him again.

“The last thing I remember was seeing Kurt get punched in the jaw.” Blaine said putting his head back in Kurt's chest wanting to forget about everything.

“Are you sure that's all you remember?” Mr. Smith asked. “Blaine?”

“Please.” Blaine said quietly.

“He's done.” Kurt stated. Blaine moved so Kurt could stand up and they both walked to the bedroom.

“I really need to know if he remembers anything else. Maybe some sort of therapy—“

“You expect us to send him to another therapist. Not a chance.” Carole interrupted. “He's sixteen. He's been through hell. He doesn't remember because he doesn't want to. His mind has blocked out a lot of that night. He heard his mother fall down three flights of stairs. He watched as his father killed a man and beat up his boyfriend. His father tortured him trying to cure him of something that he was born with.” Carole was fuming.

“I think you need to leave.” Cooper said pointing towards the door.

“Please, just a couple more questions.” Mr. Smith pleaded.

“Did you not see how he reacted to your pushing? He's currently curled up into a ball crying.” Cooper said angrily. “Please leave.” He stated as more of a demand than request.

Mr. Smith slowly left the house as Carole and Cooper went to find Kurt and Blaine.

They walked into Blaine's bedroom to find Blaine curled up onto Kurt's chest with his arms wrapped tightly around him. Their legs tangled up together and Kurt running his fingers through Blaine's mess of curls.

“You okay, squirt?” Cooper asked quietly. Blaine didn't respond. “Alright. We'll leave you two.” He said.

“Do either of you want some tea or something?” Carole asked before leaving the room. Kurt just nodded in her direction. “Alright.” Cooper and Carole both left the room.

Neither of the boys spoke. The flashbacks that were running through Blaine's mind were beginning to make him tense up. He was gripping to Kurt like he was falling off of a cliff and needed something to hold on to.

Kurt didn't mind though; he could tell that Blaine was about to completely unravel. He hated seeing Blaine in this vulnerable state. He just wanted to be able to take the pain and memories away and see the smile not just on his face, but in his eyes again.

“I'm never going to stop seeing this, am I?” Blaine finally asked.

“It will get better. My nightmares aren't as frequent since you woke up.” Kurt told him rubbing his back. “I promise you; this will get better.” Kurt kissed his forehead. “And for however long it's not better; you have me to hold onto when you need me. I will never let you fall.” Kurt gave Blaine a light squeeze and Blaine held on tighter.

“I love you so much.” Blaine mumbled into Kurt's chest.

“I love you too.”

They both lied there in Blaine's bed for hours. Neither said a word; Blaine drifted in and out of sleep.

Carole walked in around ten o'clock. “Kurt, you should probably head up.” She said quietly.

“One more night.” Kurt pleaded.

“I will let you sleep in here every other night while you're dad's not here. So upstairs.” She told him.

“Couch?” Kurt asked with an optimistic smile. “Just this once. Please. So I'm close just in case he starts to flip.”

“I'm awake.” Blaine said into Kurt's chest. He sat up slightly so he could see everyone. He looked at Kurt. “Go. I'll be fine.” Blaine told him.

“Are you sure?” He asked. “I'm still gonna sleep on the couch just in case you need me.” Kurt said.

Blaine leaned into Kurt's ear. “I need you now.”

“Good to know you're feeling better than you were earlier.” Kurt said with a chuckle.

“What did I say?” Blaine asked sounding falsely shocked.

“Rated G, boys.” Carole said. “Kurt, really.”

“I'm going.” Kurt said finally sliding out of the bed.

Kurt leaned down to give Blaine a kiss goodnight. “I'm gonna fake a nightmare in thirty minutes. You come running in and I'm going to show you how grateful I am to have you that you're not gonna have to fake anything.” Blaine said into Kurt's ear making him turn a bright red.

“Not a chance, Anderson.” Kurt said back to him. Kurt kissed him sweetly and tried to get out of the room before Carole noticed the shade of red he was and his hardening cock at Blaine's words.

“Carole?” Blaine asked.

“Yes?” She stopped exiting the room and turned to face the boy lying in bed.

“How long until I no longer have any restrictions?” He asked.

“Restrictions from the doctor or from Burt?” She asked knowing exactly what he was getting at.

“Both?” Blaine asked timidly.

“About a month from the doctor.”

“A month!?” Blaine said shocked.

“You're gonna like a month compared to never from Burt.” Carole said jokingly. “Get some sleep. Think happy thoughts. Think Kurt.” Carole went to leave the room again.

“Thank you.” Blaine said causing her to turn around again.

“For what, dear?” She asked him.

“Everything.Taking me in. Letting Kurt and I stay in the same room with the door closed.” Blaine paused for a moment. “Being more of a mom than mine ever was.”

Carole couldn't even attempt to hold the tears back. She just walked over to the teen sat down next to him and gave him a huge hug.

Blaine loved the way Carole hugging him felt. She was so loving it came off when she hugged him. The way a mother's hug should feel to a child. He tried to hold her tighter just wanting to feel a mother's love, but she began to pull away.

“You never have to thank us for any of this.” She told him. “You've been like a son to Burt since you were six. Even those eight years between. And you've become son number three to me.” She smiled at Blaine causing them both to cry a little harder.

Carole left the room and Blaine snuggled down into his blankets thinking of his wonderful boyfriend trying to avoid nightmares.

Kurt made up a bed on the couch and crawled in hoping not to hear Blaine screaming throughout the night.

Around 2:30 AM Blaine began to scream and Kurt woke up and ran into his room to try and calm him down.

“Get away from him!” Blaine screamed in his sleep. “Don't you dare put a hand on him!” He screamed again. “KURT!” He screamed as he shot up fully awake and alert.

Kurt quickly climbed into the bed with him bringing him tightly into his chest rocking him back and forth trying to calm him.

Blaine grabbed onto Kurt's shirt with a death grip. He pulled away and looked Kurt directly in the eyes. He gently touched his face. “I let him hurt you.” He said quietly.

“No. He just did. That wasn't your fault.” Kurt said to him. “None of any of this was your fault.”

“If I had just not said anything.”

“You would have been hurting yourself. You can't try to make sense of anything right now. None of it makes any sense to anyone.” Kurt told him tightening his hold. “Just know that this wasn't your fault and that we love you so much. You're safe. I will keep you safe.” Kurt lied back in the bed still holding onto Blaine.

The next afternoon all three boys were sitting in the living room watching August Rush. Finn was ignoring the TV and texting Rachel while Blaine was curled on Kurt's chest with Kurt's arms wrapped around him enjoying the film.

Their Sunday had been very uneventful since Blaine woke up that morning. He was still getting flashbacks causing him to pull Kurt closer, but once they passed he was able to relax a little again.

Before it hit three o'clock most of the Warblers had come and gone welcoming Blaine home. They said they'd always be friends and they'll keep in touch. Also, if they went up against McKinley they weren't showing any mercy.

The New Directions came after the Warblers. They all focused on their own drama leaving Kurt and Blaine able to cuddle on the couch while their friends spoke over their movie.

Blaine looked around the room and he knew, in that moment, he was gonna be okay.

Carole came into the living room and pulled Kurt and Blaine away. “What is it?” Kurt asked.

“They've set a date for the trial to begin.”
