To say things were awkward the next few days, after the almost kiss, would be an understatement. Blaine and Kurt continued seeing each other in the halls, but when their eyes would meet, usually they would just blush and look away, pretending it never happened. Today though, while Blaine was at his locker, he glanced over to see Kurt rolling his eyes with Mercedes as they walked by, before Kurt glanced back over his shoulder, offering Blaine a tiny smile of acknowledgment, which made Blaine’s heart skip a beat as he gave a tiny smile in return, before heading to class.

Later that day, Blaine was walking down the hall to his locker from Glee practice, when several of the football players were heading down the hall right toward him. Blaine didn’t notice, since he was keeping his head down, and looking at his feet. Right when they were about to slushy Blaine, a throat cleared behind them.

“Hello boys. How kind of you to bring me a drink.” Kurt said in a sugary sweet voice, before taking the cup from the main jock’s hand. “Now, how about you go do something actually useful, before someone hears about this little incident hmm?” he said, giving the jocks a icy look, before they left grumbling. He snorted and tossed the slushy away as he watched them leave.

Blaine was looking at him in surprise, and Kurt just raised an eyebrow. “What? I can’t just let a nice bowtie get ruined can I? Even if they are last season.” he said with a smirk, before going past Blaine. “Oh, and you can thank me by buying me dinner Friday night after school. 6 o’clock.” he said in his ear as he walked off, leaving a blushing and flustered Blaine behind.

When Friday came Blaine was a mess. He had spent all week trying to figure out what tonight was supposed to even be. Kurt had basically ordered him to take him out..but why? They barely spoke at school, and the only time they were civil, was during the tutoring sessions. Blaine didn’t even know what kind of reservation to book. He knew Kurt liked finer things, and definitely would not go for some place like Breadstix, so he decided to book something up in Westerville, which would also ensure they wouldn't be seen. He was also sure Kurt wouldn't want to risk his reputation for a free meal, so he found the nicest restaurant he could, without being overly expensive and too date like, but that still had a nice quiet atmosphere and privacy.

So now here Blaine was at 5:50, standing outside the Hummel residence trying to collect himself. His hair was gelled back, but he didn’t use as much as normal, so his hair had a bit of wave too it, with a couple of curls falling loose around his eyes. He was wearing a dark blue polo with white skin tight jeans, and a blue and white striped bowtie that matched the colors of his shirt and pants, with a pair of black loafers. The main difference tonight, is he was wearing contacts for the first time. He normally avoided them as they made his eyes burn, but for tonight he made an exception.

Right when he raised his hand to knock, the door opened, and an amused Kurt was standing there. “So are you going to just…um..stand there all night?” he started, before he caught sight of Blaine, and found his breath caught in his throat a bit, his eyes unconsciously taking the other boy in.

Blaine opened his mouth, to say something, but then he really saw how Kurt was dressed. Kurt’s hair had been perfectly swept back and parted, he was dressed in a long sleeved back button down shirt, and was wearing crimson skinny jeans, with a pair of black ankle length boots, and a black and red patterned silk tie around his neck.

“I..wow..” he murmured, unconsciously. “You look…amazing.” he said sincerely, not used to seeing Kurt outside of the Cheerio’s uniform. Kurt preened a bit at the compliment, smirking.

“Of course I do. I always look fabulous.” he sniffed, causing Blaine to give a fond eyeroll.

“Come on your highness. We have reservations in Westerville in an hour.” he chuckled, to which Kurt nodded his approval.

“Okay then..” he said before turning to call goodbye to his father and assured him he would return no later then 11.

In the end Blaine had taken them to an upscale Italian restaurant, which had ended up being the perfect choice to Kurt. Not only had Kurt gotten the Eggplant Parmesan, which Kurt claimed to be delicious, but he had also ordered a piece of cheesecake, which he had enjoyed so thoroughly, he had left a blushing Blaine in his seat, casually shifting a bit.

The spent the rest of the evening driving around, talking about random things, and just enjoying each other’s company, much to both Blaine and Kurt’s delight. Even if Kurt hid it a bit more.

Once they arrived back at Kurt’s house, Blaine being ever the gentleman, opened Kurt’s car door, walking him back up the steps to his house.

“Thanks for what you did the other day..” Blaine said softly. “I mean I know you got dinner out of it..but I just wanted to say it.” he said looking up at Kurt, stepping up the last couple steps on the porch so they were eye level.

Kurt shook his head. “Don’t mention it. They’re just ignorant pricks, but you’re welcome..tonight was..a nice change.” he said softly, his pale skin and cerulean eyes glowing a bit in the moonlight, making Blaine’s breath catch.

“Kurt..” He started, moving closer, Kurt’s eyes looking into his, giving a tiny smile.

“You know…you should go without glasses more often.” he murmured. “Your eyes are gorgeous.” He whispered, before he leaned in, softly pressing his lips against Blaine’s, his eyes sliding closed at the soft touch of Blaine’s lips.

Blaine’s eyes flew open at that, never having been kissed before. Blaine took in a sharp breath, before his own eyes closed, slowly moving his lips against Kurt’s.

Kurt pulled away after a moment, a bit breathless, his cheeks softly flushed, but a small smile on his face as he bit his lower lip. “Goodnight Blaine.” He murmured, before disappearing into the house, leaving a dumbfounded, but grinning Blaine behind. And maybe, just maybe, Blaine did a little happy dance on the way back to his car.
