Author's Notes: So, another chapter! Hopefully another chapter tonight, or if I pass out, tomorrow!

“The news are reaching the studio this moment, we at FOX News can now present the Republican Party’s candidate for the 2012 election; Senator Malcolm Anderson.”

A wave of mediocre cheers passed through the Anderson living and bottom floor. Blaine’s father’s connection and fundraiser friends had packed the entire bottom floor and now they were buzzing in relief of their money not being completely wasted as the camera caught them on film.

Then the man himself rose up on a small podium. “Thank you all for being here, I’m so honored to represent the Republican Party and I am very grateful for your support.”

“And your money” Blaine added bitterly in his head as he sipped the cider he had managed to snag.

“I want to thank my running mate, Carlisle Smythe, and of course all of you who donated and supported us in our vision. My family and I are so grateful for your help in creating the US it has potential to be and trusting us with this important issue. Thank you and I hope you all will enjoy this evening.”

A polite round of applause surged the room and the guests went back to gossiping with hushed voice. The TV was on mute now, so Blaine could only see the news reporter form the word “Burt Hummel” before it cut to a scene completely different from the one he was standing in. It looked like a community center, the walls filled with what looked like children’s drawings and it showed a Burt Hummel grasping his forehead and almost falling to his feet, but being supported of what looked like half a town squeezed inside the small room. Then suddenly, the man was being jumped by a teenager with an impressive set of hair as he hugged him tightly. After a few moments the boy turned towards the camera and Blaine could see his face. And it felt like his heart stopped in his chest. The man was smiling ear to ear and he was the most stunning thing Blaine had ever seen. Blaine must’ve been staring because Damon, his brother, two years his senior, nudged him in the side with a small smile and directed him to come and join the family in posing for the press. Blaine was almost in the other room when he cast a glance over his shoulder to look at the boy once more.

--

“Kurt?” echoed from the restrooms walls. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine Finn.” Kurt told his stepbrother and dried the last evidence of his crying with the back of his hand.

“Okay bro.” Finn hesitated. “I’m really proud of him no matter what.”

Kurt couldn’t keep from smiling. “Yeah. So am I.”

“Come on then, they’re about to announce the results.” Finn hurried him.

“Who’s the Republican representative?” Kurt asked as the made their way out of the restroom.

“You know; the paranoid dude with too much money.”

The look Kurt shot him made Finn smile a little.

“The one with the clan in Alaska.” Finn specified and Kurt hummed in recognition.

A surge in the room made them realize they missed it. The biggest moment in their (step-) father’s career and they missed it. Then the cheers kicked in and Kurt’s head understood that they hadn’t missed it. The biggest moment in his father’s career wasn’t until November.

Somehow, he either pushed aside the people in the way or they moved in recognition when they saw him, he made it to his father within seconds, his arms flung around his father’s neck and he was crying, Carole was crying next to them hugging Finn and his father looked like he couldn’t process the information being screamed throughout the hall.

That entire night Kurt never stopped crying. He cried throughout his father’s speech once he had collected himself enough to speak, he cried as he hugged his friends and shook strangers hands, which had all come in support of him and Burt Hummel, the Democrat representative for 2012.

End Notes: Thank you for reading, I love you, I'll go back to writing, our babies gotta meet sometime! Okay, I'm not making any sense, but let me know if you have any critism (consructive if possible ;)) or questions or thoughts or whatever!

well, not too much happened here, except we got confirmation of the rep and dem candidates in this election. i'm just hoping that you do something wickedly evil to candidate anderson. like, campaign embezzlement or cheating on his wife, or a watergate-like event. and to spice it up, blaine discovers his dad's, ahem, indiscretion, and because blaine wants his dad to lose, blaine blows the whistle [among other things :) ] with kurt's help! this is what i love about fics like these...they always get my imagination going and i start speculating about the path of the story.

I know, I know, it's not really a lot going on, this isn't really planned properly and I should probably do that, but I promise, there will be more drama and hopefully it will become something worth reading once my mind gets a little less distracted and I actually decide to concentrate on one project at the time... Thank you for reading and reviewing and I'm hoping that my outlined story will be close to whatever amazing path you come up with for this!
