Author's Notes:

it gets more Klangsty here.Trigger warning Spousal abuse

The city went by in a blur as the cab Kurt was currently in had left Bryant park only moments before.

He wasn’t sure what he felt exactly. It was an issue that he always had. Not knowing what to feel.

He knew he had felt excited because his show had gone so well. He was proud of his designs and all the
hard work he and his team had done the last couple of months. And now he was back in New York ready
to open his fashion house. A dream that was coming true; he couldn’t be happier about it.

Kurt knew it was time for him to go back to New York. After spending three years in Paris working his ass
off, he quickly became a sought-after designer in Europe, after two years he had done some shows in
Paris and Milan and had taken out his own line. The fashion house he worked for thought it was time for
him to take his clothes to the states. He was American so they thought Kurt would be happy about it. He
was a little unsure about it, there were a lot of people he would have to face, but the more he thought
about it, the more he thought that maybe it was time to go back home. So he packed up his life in Paris
and took Rebecca with him so they could start his fashion house in New York.

Seeing Blaine at his show was the last thing he ever expected.

He grabbed Rebecca’s arm and made his way out into the runway, smiling as everyone clapped and
gave praise to his designs. And there in the front row was Blaine in all his hazel-eye glory. Kurt notice that
time has done wonders on Blaine, his feature a little more mature, but still gorgeous as he remembers. It
took all Kurt’s will not to turn around and run as fast as he could when he saw him.

Once he was backstage Kurt was able to calm himself enough before he faced Blaine again. Something
he was not prepared to do.

Kurt tried to play it cool, he tried to show that Blaine’s presence did nothing to him, so He put up every
wall that he had. But Kurt couldn’t ignore the feeling pooling inside him every time he looked at Blaine.

A feeling that after three years wished he never had to feel again.

After greeting him and speaking for a few moments. Kurt did what he did best. He left.

Kurt had been flirting with the blonde from the moment he had hired him to be one of his models. Kurt
never mixed business and pleasure so he had asked him if he wanted to go out with him after the show
was over. So that’s what he did. He took the gorgeous model out and left Blaine.

He felt bad for leaving, but he thought it would be better if he got himself together before he saw Blaine
again. He wasn’t ready to face him, so with promises of catching up. He took the blonde's arm and
walked away from his former best friend.

Now he was sitting in the back of the cab as the blonde model sucked on his neck and slid his hand up
his thigh. “You’re so hot” he breathed on his neck sending a shiver down Kurt’s spine.

“I thought we were going to go out,” Kurt said, suppressing a moan, the cab driver threw him a
disapproving look through the rearview mirror. Kurt would have thought they were used to this kind of
thing.

“I think I rather have you at my place.” the model said as he traveled lower on Kurt’s neck.

Kurt rolled his eyes, he knew the man was a little dumb, but he was hot, and Kurt just wanted someone
warm and willing underneath him.

“Sounds like a good idea to me.”

So Kurt pushed all thoughts of Blaine from his mind and let the blonde model continue to ravish him.

----------------------------------------

Blaine leaned back against the wall of the elevator as he headed up to the penthouse apartment that he
shared with his husband. He was tired, and after spending almost twelve hours in the studio, he had written
a couple of songs and recorded some pieces, but he found it hard to concentrate lately.
It had been almost three days since he had seen Kurt. And he had a hard time keeping him from his
thoughts. Wes had given him Kurt’s number the day after, telling him that he was amazing and he deserved
a paid vacation from him. Blaine was happy and promised him he could have whatever he wanted.

He still hadn’t dared to call him, not sure if Kurt wanted to see him or not.

So he spent his time in the studio, hoping that writing would calm him down a bit, but it didn’t.

He finally decided to go home, hoping James was already in bed because all he wanted to do was sleep.

He stepped into the penthouse, taking off his coat and shoes at the entrance. He walked into the living
room and saw that James was on the couch watching TV.

“Hey sweetie, I thought you would be in bed already” he leaned over the couch and planted a kiss on
top of his head.

James kept looking at the screen ignoring Blaine’s greeting. Blaine thought he was probably in one of his
moods so decided not to keep agitating him.

When he was about to head to their bedroom James spoke to him.

“Why didn’t you tell me Kurt was back?”

Blaine stops dead in his tracks. He didn’t feel like talking about it, especially with James.

“I guess I just forgot to mention it to you, it was a couple of days ago” Blaine knew it wasn’t a good
enough answer for James but he just didn’t have the energy to come up with something better to satisfy
him.

“Blaine your ex-best friend comes back into town; it’s not something that just slips your mind.” He said,
Blaine notice his voice had an angry tone.

“How did you find out anyways?” Blaine knew it was the wrong thing to say but he was getting irritated
with James interrogating him when he just had walked in the door.

James looked back to the TV and started rewinding the current show he was watching. Blaine looked at
the TV confused at what James was doing. He noticed that James was watching Enews. After a few
moments, he pressed play.

The correspondent was talking about fashion week and showed some of the celebrities and what they
were wearing. Then Blaine’s eyes widen in surprise. On TV were Blaine and Kurt being interviewed
looking comfortable with each other. Kurt had his arm around Blaine’s shoulders and Blaine had
him around his waist.

James turned off the TV and stood up to look at Blaine. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

He let out an annoyed sigh “sorry for not telling you about it, I just was so surprised, I just needed some
time to wrap my head around it.” he knew a fight was inevitable. So he just decided to let James vent.

“So now what? You two best buddies again?” Blaine notice he had a glass in his hand, he had been
drinking.

“James we just saw each other three days ago we didn’t have time to talk…” Blaine said as he
remembered the way Kurt had acted toward him.

“That’s good, I don’t think it’s a good idea for you to see him again Blaine” he took another drink
off his glass.

“I don’t think you get to tell me who I can be friends with” Blaine hated arguing with him when he
was drunk.

“I’m your husband Blaine-“

“You know what? I don’t feel like doing this right now, you're drunk” Blaine started to head towards
their bedroom.

Blaine turned back around when he heard James slamming his glass to the floor.

“Fucking hell Blaine! I love you, Kurt obviously didn’t care about you enough, and he just cut you out of
his life, he doesn’t get to just waltz back into yours!” his voice getting angrier and louder by the second.

“James just drop it we'll talk about this in the morning when you’re sober-“ Blaine was cut off as James
grabbed him by the arms to make him look at him.

“I’m not drunk, we're talking about this now!” he shouted to his face.

“What do you want me to say, James, I don’t know what you want!” the grip on his arms was getting
stronger and more painful the more he shouted.

“YOU EMBARRASSED ME BLAINE! You think it doesn’t make me look bad when you have your hands all
over him on national television!” James was worried about what everyone would say about him. It always was
about him and his image.

“WERE FRIENDS! THAT’S ALL WE ARE WHY ARE YOU SO SET ON THINKING I CHEAT ON YOU WITH EVERY
GAY GUY, I TALK TO!” he was sure there would be bruises on his arms because the pain was getting
unbearable.

“James you’re hurting me-“ Blaine hated that he sounded so weak, he was strong, but James was
stronger and bigger than him. James didn’t hear him because he didn’t let him go.

“YOU THINK I'M JUST GOING TO LET YOU RUN AROUND SO PEOPLE THINK YOUR JUST A FUCKING
COCKSLUT!” he shouted.

“JAMES LET ME GO!” James notice the hold he had on Blaine and let him go.

Blaine rubbed his arms as he stared at him in disbelief “I can’t believe you just called me that, I’ve never
done anything to make you think I’m that kind of person” Blaine couldn’t believe the way James was
talking to him. Of all the fights they had, he had never called him names. He could feel the tears
threatening to fall. James tried to grab him again realizing what he had just called him.

“Babe I’m sorry-“ looking like he was sobering up a bit

“Don’t touch me! Just don’t” Blaine headed towards his office, James following behind him.

He went in and slammed the door in his face and locked the door.

“Blaine, baby open the door, I’m sorry!” he said through the door.

“Just go to bed, James!”

James stood outside the door for a few moments before he heard him leave for their room, making a
point by slamming the door.

Blaine sighed heavily, feeling more tired than he had before. A fight with a drunken husband wasn’t
what he was expecting when he got home.

Blaine wiped the tears that had finally fallen. He was angry at James for making such a big deal out of
nothing. Blaine felt like he had never given James a reason to talk to him like that. He was nothing but a
good husband to him, but ever since he had started working James started to act paranoid, like Blaine
was ready to leave him at any second.

Blaine didn’t know what to do. He was tired of the fights and the arguments. It felt like that was the only
the way they communicated the past couple of months.

Blaine decided not to think about it anymore, so he stripped down to his boxers and undershirt he was
wearing and settled on the small couch that was in his office, he wrapped himself with a blanket and
settled into a fitful sleep.
