Thank you for reading it!
Kurt spent his whole first period English class telling Mercedes about his date. She had hard time believing Kurt actually thought Blaine was going to hurt him in the forest, which made Kurt sigh with embarrassment. But despite this one little mistake the date was truly amazing, and just perfect.
About five minutes before the class ended Kurt felt his phone buzz in his pocket and quickly took it to see what it was. The last few weeks every time he got a message he hoped it was from Blaine, most of the time it was in fact from Blaine, but the excitement never subsided. When he saw his name flash through the phone he smiled dopily which resulted in a nudge from the chuckling Mercedes.
From Blaine: My brother is home for the weekend with his current girlfriend. Come to the theme park with us tomorrow? When is your next brake? I’d call you.
Kurt glanced at the clock on the wall before answering.
From Kurt: In 3 minutes.
When the bell rang Kurt and Mercedes made their way back to their lockers. He was still gripping his phone in his hands waiting for Blaine to call him. Suddenly his phone started buzzing again, he took a deep breath and answered.
“Hi Blaine!”
“Hey how are you doing?” Blaine greeted him cheerfully.
“Fine, fine thanks. You?”
“Me too. Sooo I wanted to ask you to come with us to the theme park tomorrow. We could pick you up at 7 am and head out together.”
“I’m not sure Blaine you told me you rarely see your brother and I wouldn’t want to intrude.” He said while worrying his bottom lip between his teeth.
“You wouldn’t be intruding. Besides he is bringing his girlfriend and I would feel like the third wheel without you.”
“I don’t know… What if they don’t like me or they don’t want to babysit me.”
“Oh come on Kurt! It will be fun, and if anyone needs to be babysat that is Cooper.”
“Okay, okay. I have to ask my father but I’m sure it will be okay.”
“Yaaay! I can’t wait. Just text me later. I have to go. Have a good day Kurt!”
“Will do, thanks, you too. Bye!” Kurt smiled as he put the phone back into his back pocket.
“That sounds like you already have another date planned.” Spoke Mercedes with a knowing smile knocking Kurt out of his reverie.
“Sounds like I do.” He said happily. They put their books back into their lockers and took out some other ones and went their separate ways to their next classes.
The day went on in bliss for Kurt and he couldn’t even have been bothered by Rachel and Quinn screaming at each other for some reason and Finn just standing between them dumbstruck. That is when he realized he still has to ask his father to let him go out with three adults the man doesn’t even know. He contemplated lying but with Blaine and his brother and his girlfriend coming to pick him up in the morning it was out of possibilities. He decided to ask him at dinner because Carole would be there as well, and she knew Blaine and that they were friends. Well hopefully more than that but still…
“So son, what can I thank the pleasure of you allowing me to have bacon tonight?” Burt asked him knowing Kurt must want something. Because ever since he had a heart attack two years ago Kurt wouldn’t let him have anything worth salivating for, that is unless he wanted something really bad.
Kurt looked down at his plate knowing that this is the moment his next date depends on. He looked at Carole and then at his father, took a quick breath and started.
“A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go to the theme park with him and his brother, and his girlfriend tomorrow. And I was wondering if I could… go.” He asked not breaking eye contact.
“Can I go too?” Finn interrupted.
“No!” Kurt answered a little bit too quickly.
“Who is this friend of yours? And why can’t Finn join?” Burt asked in suspicion.
“He’s name is Blaine, you met him a few weeks ago. And Finn can’t come because they don’t even know each other.” Good one Hummel.
“The doctor guy who you missed your curfew with? Isn’t he too old to take kids anywhere under the pretense of friendship?” The man asked his son who just gulped and looked at Carole for help.
“He is actually just 23, still a student not a doctor, and I know him he is a really nice young man and always talks about Kurt with respect.” Came the much needed help from Carole.
“Also I’m not a kid… wait are you two talking about me?” Kurt got distracted and a little surprised that Blaine would talk about him. It was a little weird that he would do it with his step-mother but Carole is not the embarrassing stories and awkward childhood pictures type of woman.
“I don’t know.” Burt said but Kurt knew by his tone that he was almost ready to say yes. Just a final touch…
“You implied it yourself dad, he is an adult, and is studying hard to become a doctor. He is respectful and trustworthy. Also his brother and his girlfriend are coming as well, and they would pick me up in the morning so you can meet them as well… briefly.” Kurt fought to keep his father’s gaze, when he saw the well-known flicker in his eyes which meant he won.
“Okay, but on one condition.” He said giving in.
“Thank you, you are the best, dad! What condition?” Kurt asked just in case knowing that he would do anything anyway for his father to let him go.
“I want to properly meet this guy. If you are friends and planning on spending time together I want to get to know him. Invite him for dinner the next week.”
“Umm, okay I’ll ask. Thanks!” He said and excused himself to run back to his room and text Blaine about the news.
The next morning couldn’t come soon enough. Kurt was up at 5am to get ready and make breakfast for his father as a thank you for letting him go. Burt and Carole joined him in the kitchen for a quick breakfast, she was about to wash her plate when she noticed a car on the driveway from the window.
“Honey they’re here.” She said with a smile. The men walked up to her and they watched the car from the window. A man wanted to get out from the backseat, he opened and closed the door a few times, while Blaine was talking to him from the driver’s seat. The other man closed the door again and leant back in his seat with a visibly big and dramatic sigh. That must be his brother. The Hudmels thought.
“He’s early.” Burt stated turning to sit back to the table.
“He always is.” Kurt said in a dreamy tone, but flinched when he realized what he’d just said.
“How many times did he have the chance to be here early exactly, son?” Burt raised a brow and Kurt was about to start panicking when he noticed that his step-mother is gone. Carole opened the front door and waved to Blaine and his passengers to come in. Kurt and his father went to the door just in time to see Blaine gulp and get out of the vehicle with his brother and a stunning brunette who could easily pass as a supermodel.
“Hey, Carole I’m sorry we got here early...” Blaine started but his brother cut in.
“Because my brother acted like a kid who is on a sugar rush. Hi, my name is Cooper Anderson, and this is my girlfriend Brianna.” They both shook hands with Kurt’s parents. The older Anderson and his girlfriend greeted Kurt and excused themselves to wait in the car. Blaine stayed back for a few moments to hug Kurt warmly and peck him on the cheek.
“Hi” he whispered as he looked into Kurt’s eyes. “I’m happy you’re coming. Though I’m sorry in advance for Coop, he tends to get too much, but just ignore him, he means well… or something like that.” He trailed off and Kurt chuckled at that.
“I’m happy you invited me. And don’t worry, I’m up for a challenge.” He smiled at the med student and stared into his eyes. The moment was interrupted by Burt coughing behind them.
“I’ll see you later, bye!” Kurt said quickly hugging the man and Carole and dragging Blaine back to the car by his hand.
“Blaine!” Burt said and the boys turned back to face him. “Take care of my son” he said “I mean it.” He added with a serious face and Blaine nodded understanding that Burt was probably not just only talking about ensuring Kurt’s safety on their little trip. The boys got in the car and got on the road quickly.
Several hours of fun and even more rounds on spinning, twisting and shaking rigs Kurt and Blaine settled down to have lunch having Cooper and Brianna lost hours ago. After lunch they agreed on resting their stomachs a little and instead of a rollercoaster they opted for the horror boat. Halfway through the trip Blaine spoke up.
“Okay this is quite lame.”
“Yes it is.” Kurt broke out in a laughing fit as he was expecting more than a few too fake spider webs and whistling noises as well. Blaine put his arm around Kurt’s shoulders. The boy looked up at him with a raised brow.
“Don’t think I’m a freak, but I was kinda hoping one of us would get scared and we’d get to cuddle.” Blaine said which earned him a small chuckle from Kurt who snuggled up a little more into his side. They travelled in silence for a few more minutes until a not-too-manly scream broke the beauty of the moment. They both looked back but couldn’t see the next boat behind them. “I know from experience that it was Cooper.” They both started laughing but after a little while their giggles died down and they stayed there in the dim lights looking into each other’s eyes with only a few inches separating them. Blaine tilted his head a little mutely asking for permission which Kurt granted with a shy smile before they both leaned closer to each other for a chaste kiss.
They parted after a few seconds their foreheads still touching with eyes closed, both smiling. Blaine cupped Kurt’s cheek with his right hand which wasn’t around the boy and they opened their eyes. They stayed like that, seeking delight in each other’s features until their boat got to the end of the tunnel. After another soft kiss they got out of the boat and walked to a tree nearby to wait for Cooper and Brianna in bliss. Two arriving boats later Cooper walked up to them huffing and completely drenched with Brianna behind him giggling quietly.
“These boats are life-threateningly DANGEROUS!” Cooper said reaching the boys and twisting his shirt to press some water out of it. The boys and Brianna tried to hold in their laughs but Blaine failed and snorted. “Don’t you dare laughing at me, I almost died in there!” By now all three of them were full on laughing at the man. “Thanks Brother!” He said and charged in the direction of the parking area strongly reminding Kurt of Rachel’s famous storming-outs.
Cooper waited for them next to Blaine’s car for a few minutes. When his brother arrived he opened the car door but spoke up before he could get in. “A-aaa! There is no way you’re soaking my seats!”
“Then what? You’ll just leave me here drenched and hungry in the cold, dark night?” This is exactly how Rachel is going to act when she’s an adult… or worse! I have to stop Finn from marrying her…
“It’s 3pm, Cooper it’s nowhere near cold or dark here, but no… I won’t just leave you here.” Blaine said and opened up the trunk to fish out a black tank top and a pair of running shorts.
“Oh come on!” Cooper said and took the clothes from his brother. He walked to the other side of the car so that the little group won’t see him (but everyone else in the parking area could… a grandma even covered her little grandson’s eyes while opening her own wide open) and changed his clothes. He dumped the wet ones into the plastic bag Blaine held out for him and stood next to the car with his hands on his waist and a serious bitch-glare on his face. The top was too small on him and the short was merely long enough to hide everything… if he doesn’t move in it.
They laughed at Cooper and got in the car. Kurt had a chance to subtly check the man out and could only think of Blaine wearing those items in the gym with his muscles flexing when he’s working out or… no, not going there!
The drive back was spent with making jokes of Cooper and listening to what happened in the tunnel. Somehow the fact that Brianna’s story didn’t match Cooper’s wasn’t surprising for anyone. They dropped Cooper and Brianna at the Anderson house mansion actually… and Blaine took Kurt home. They were holding hands and sat in a comfortably silence during the drive and when they arrived Kurt invited Blaine in.
No one was home so they sit down in the living room on the couch and Kurt offered snacks and drink. They sat there talking, eating and having fun then started kissing. Blaine was gentle and it surprised Kurt how sweetly he captured his lips with his own. They kept kissing for a while chastely caressing each other’s cheeks and squeezing hands only stopping to smile at each other once in a while.
“Blaine… can I ask you something?” Kurt asked lowering his head to avoid looking into Blaine’s eyes. Blaine put a finger under his chin to make him look up at him before answering softly “Anything, Kurt.”
“Does this…” he started gesturing between the two of them “make us boyfriends or….” He trailed off and felt his face burning up.
“I think it does” Blaine answered smiling at him “I mean only if you want it to…”
“Do you?” Kurt asked.
“More than anything.” Blaine answered and kissed him briefly. “Do you?” He asked after parting.
“More than anything.” Kurt said and they smiled at each other before another kiss.
They agreed on keeping their relationship low until next week when Kurt turns eighteen, just in case. They kept kissing until Burt, Carole and Finn arrived home and after dinner Blaine went home. He couldn’t contain himself from smiling widely to himself like a happy kindergartener during his drive home, and even after that.
From Blaine: Good night, boyfriend! :) The text came later that night.
From Kurt: Good night to you, too, boyfriend! :) Kurt answered and they both fall asleep smiling.
