“Great rehearsal guys! It looks amazing!! If the show goes as good as today then this’ll be a great success!” Gina whoops, “Now, this is the last time all of us are on the stage until the actual show. I want to tell you, I am very proud of what the result looks like. Enjoy your week off, please rest your voice and body, we need you to be on top form next Friday!”
Everyone is buzzing, it is finally coming to an end, everything we all worked for so hard. I wish it was next week already so we could all shine on stage. Three shows are planned: next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and each one of them is sold out. Rachel and Blaine are the most amazing Maria and Tony we could ever have and Sarah has put in some really cool choreographies.
“Kurt!” Blaine comes running to me, “Gina wants to speak to Rachel and me first, but then we can go,” he smiles, “Go already and I’ll catch up with you.”
I look at him a bit surprised but nod “I’ll wait outside.” I smile.
I leave the auditorium and see Finn standing there. “What are you doing here?” I ask confused.
“Waiting for Rachel,” he smiles, “we’re going into town for a little bit.”
“Cool.” I nod.
“Do you want to come?” he asks.
“No, I’m fine. Blaine and I are going to get coff-” I trail off seeing his expression change, “what?!”
“I don’t like him, Kurt. I really don’t trust him.”
I sigh, we’ve been over this already. “Finn...thank you for caring but he’s really nice. He’s different than you think he is.”
“Prove it! You’re going to the coffee shop right? Fine, Rachel and I can join you both.”
I stare at him gobsmacked. Is he being serious? I don’t get the chance to say anything else as both Rachel and Blaine walk out the auditorium.
“Hey guys.” Blaine smiles at the both of us. I smile back and look at Finn, his facial expression would best be described as if he smelt something disgusting.
“Shall we go, Finn?” Rachel urges.
“Oh, yeah change of plans,” Finn says, composing himself and beaming at Rachel, “we’re joining Kurt and Blaine for some coffee.”
Both Rachel and Blaine look surprised and deep inside I actually don’t want them to join us. I was kind of looking forward to spend some time with just Blaine again but I can’t say no to them now.
“Great, let’s go!” Blaine says. Rachel and I share a look, both looking equally as puzzled but she shrugs and keeps on walking. I quicken my pace and catch up with Blaine.
“What are you doing?” I whisper, making sure Finn and Rachel don’t hear me.
“What?” he smiles at me, “They’re your best friends right? I would love to get to know them better.” He says, “I mean, I know Rachel already a bit from the rehearsals but it’s not the same. I want to learn to know the people who know you best.” He replies and briefly touches my hand. I didn’t imagine it this time. I am certain about it! He touched my hand!! I don’t care about what Finn thinks, I like him and he seems to like me.

This is the best thing ever! Blaine has won over both Rachel and Finn. He somehow managed to start a conversation with Finn about football and they’d been going on forever. Rachel and I needed to break them apart to make them shut up. We’d been discussing the musical for a bit but then Finn got bored about the topic as we ordered our third round of coffees. “I don’t get how you guys do it though, all those rehearsals and next week the show on top of all the homework. I mean, just look at the huge task Francks gave us today.” Finn sighs.
“Talking about Francks!” Rachel shrieks, interrupting Finn’s complaint, and I think I felt my eardrums pop, “Blaine...I think we’re all very curious as to what was in that text, earlier.” I feel my heart skip a beat, I’d forgotten all about that. How did I forget about that?! Take it for Rachel to remember something like that.
“Oh, nothing really.” Blaine shrugs but I see his cheek flush a little bit.
“As if! I’ve never seen Francks react like that before! What kind of filth were you typing!” Rachel says all excited.
“Yeah dude, seriously what was all that about?!” Finn joins in. I look at the three of them and don’t know what to do. Part of me wants to know what he was texting and if it was actually a reply to me. Part of me doesn’t want Rachel and Finn to know.
“Er...just a mate of mine who likes to text me filth when he knows I’m in class.” He smiles.
“Really?” Rachel says her smile growing big, “that’s just genius.” She laughs. I don’t find it that genius. Another guy?
“Yeah, well awkward at times.” He laughs, “like the one today.”
“Does he go at our school?” Finn asks.
“Nah, he’s a mate from my previous school.”
“Is he...gay?” Finn asks puzzled. I find it funny to see how he’s having a hard time trying to wrap his head around the thought of another male friend sending you filthy texts. Poor naive soul.
“No, Finn. I have tons of straight friends who send me gay porn in texts because it sexually arouses them.” Blaine says with a straight face. I choke in my coffee seeing Finn’s eyebrows raise so high they nearly disappear in his hairline, “I’m joking.” Blaine adds when he sees how poor Finn is trying to process what he’s just heard.
“Oh...er...yeah I...er...I knew that...” he stammers.
The three of us laugh as his face goes beetroot red.
