My next chapter Ill definitely edit a bit so that itll read easier.
It wasnt a town like their own, that Kurt had taken him to, but that was why Blaine liked it so much. Of course the fare and the non-stop ice-cream eating had its influence also. They raced in go-carts and tried to beat each other at different games. They even sang a song with one of the street musicians and ended their day with a little dance together. Now they were sat in a meadow around a big campfire. Other small groups of citizens of the town were also spread around it . The two of them were sat together, Kurt had wrapped a blanket around the two of them, where Blaine rested his head on Kurts shoulder.
Blaine was staring into the fire enjoying the warmth of Kurts body.
“Are you cold?” Kurt asked, after a while. He saw Blaine shiver, even with the blanket wrapped around them.
“Just a little.” Blaine admitted and moved closer to Kurt, “could you hold me?” Kurt smiled at the proposal, “it's just...I could do with some body heat.” Blaine mumbled.
“Of course.” Kurt smiled and wrapped his arms around Blaine, pulling him into his chest and rested his chin on Blaine's shoulder. They fit perfectly.
They sat in silence just looking up at the sky and enjoying the comfort of having each other's company. “I wish every night could be like this.” Blaine sighed with content, placing his hands on top of Kurts, feeling their heat spread through him. “I missed being outside.” Blaine sighed.
“Why do you stay in that place, Blaine? You are allowed to leave it anyway.”
“And go where?” Blaine questioned, turning his head to Kurt.
Kurt held his breath, Blaine's lips were so close to him, he could feel Blaine's warm breath hit his own skin and he could count every single lash that framed Blaine's golden brown eyes, “besides, I need a hospital near at all times, just in case.”
Kurt swallowed roughly and held onto Blaine tightly “I will always make sure you're safe.”
“I know.” Blaine breathed quietly, allowing himself to rest his head against Kurt's. He enjoyed the warm feeling of Kurt's skin on his, the rush of blood it send running through his veins, the aching need to be as close to Kurt as possible, to try and melt into him completely. Blaine yawned and closed his eyes. “Are you tired?”
“Just a little bit. This treatment always takes a lot of my energy.” his voice sounded sleepy too.
“How are you feeling?” Kurt asked. Usually he refrained from talking to Blaine about his illness and how he was feeling because he knew Blaine didn't like the subject, but it didn't mean it wasn't on his mind all the time.
“Let's not talk about that. Not now, please.” Blaine whispered and moved to go and lie down. Kurt immediately followed his actions, lying down his head on his backpack and positioned himself in such a way that Blaine could comfortably wrap himself back in Kurt's arms, his curly head resting on Kurt's shoulder. “Are you comfortable?” Kurt asked worried.
Blaine nodded and closed his eyes, his breathing slowing down, feeling completely relaxed. Kurt looked at Blaine with love filled eyes before he turned his gaze back to the starry sky.
Blaine loved the feeling of Kurt's soft rising and falling chest with each breath he took, he loved hearing the steady heartbeat under the fabric of Kurt's shirt. He looked up the moment he could feel the vibration when a chuckle built up in Kurt's chest. “What?” a smile played on his lips.
“Nothing,” Kurt smiled down, stars of light playing in his eyes, “it's just...when I was a kid someone once told me that if you could count seven stars in the night's sky, seven days in a row, that night you'd dream of the person you'd spend the rest of your life with. I know it's probably superstition, but tonight is the first night ever that I succeeded.”
“Then maybe tonight you'll finally find out?” Blaine whispered.
“I don't have to. I already know.” Kurt smiled, looking at Blaine with a glint in his eyes. Blaine could feel the heat rising in his cheek and felt grateful for the darkness of the night. He was lost for words and knew that anything he'd say wouldn't come close to describing what he wanted to say. Instead he nuzzled into Kurt's shoulder and buried his face in the crook of Kurt's neck, fitting there perfectly. Kurt's arms tightened around Blaine's body and pulled him in even closer, he could feel Blaine's warm breath on his bare skin and it send shivers down his spine. He buried his nose in Blaine's hair and could smell the familiar scent of his shampoo and the smell of hospital that stuck to his skin. Kurt could feel his own breathing slow down, completely relaxed and comfortable in this embrace with Blaine. Slowly drifting in a sleepy haze, he could feel Blaine shift ever so slightly in his arms and mumbled sleepily “Are you okay?” and when he asked, he realized that Blaine might be too cold, too ill, too anything to be here with him. “Blaine?” he asked again, his eyes flying open alarmed and all of a sudden feeling more awake than ever by the lack of response. He shifted to move back so he could check on Blaine but the moment he did he heard Blaine's soft whisper, “No. Kurt, please stay like this. I don't ever want to move again.” Kurt stayed perfectly silent like Blaine had requested but worry filled him completely when he could feel moisture on the skin of his neck and realized that Blaine was crying. “Blaine,” he voice merely a whisper, “what's wrong?”
After a short moment of silence he could hear Blaine's voice that sounded like the breaking of ice when the sun had finally come through the clouds, “Nothing. Nothing at all. For the first time, everything feels right. I feel-home.” Kurt couldn't suppress that smile that seemed to be spreading through his whole body and pulled Blaine, if possible, even closer into him, planting a kiss on his hair, on his cheek and on the little bit of bare skin of his shoulder, right above Blaine's collarbone.
Eventually people started to get up and leave and the fire was slowly going. “We should go.” Kurt whispered.
Blaine moaned. “I like it here.” and he crawled even closer into Kurt's arms. Kurt smiled and stroked Blaine's hair, kissing the top of his head. “I promised to bring you back.”
“Fine.” Blaine pouted.
“Blaine?” Kurt shook him lightly, “wake up love.”
“Huh?” Blaine blinked, rubbing his eyes.
“You feel asleep on the way back.” Kurt smiled, holding out his hand. It was already really dark outside and Blaine had to squint to make out Kurt's face. He grabbed Kurt's hand and allowed the boy to help him out of the car. “Did you have fun tonight?” Kurt asked, his voice tired.
“It was the best.” Blaine nodded, “thank you so much.” He squeezed Kurt's hand.
“We should do it again then.” Kurt suggested.”
“I'd love to!” Blaine nodded, “how did you even manage to do all this? I mean is your dad not worried with you being out so late and then the hospital?”
Kurt shook his head. “My dad knows about our date and well…I was well prepared. The hospital knew, Blaine, they gave me permission for this. How else did you think I am still allowed to be in here?” he gestured around him, meaning the hospital.
Blaine shrugged. “I thought you were just being sneaky.” He smiled cheekily.
“I'm sorry. I'm afraid I'm a little less exciting than that. I actually had permission to be here with you.” Kurt nudged Blaine's nose.
“I love it when you're with me.” Blaine smiled, his eyes closed, “but Kurt…I don't want to go into this without you having the wrong expectations.”
They stopped in front of Blaine's room. “Blaine…I wasn't suggesting anything.” Kurt started.
“No. That's not what I meant. I mean that'd be nice even, I mean,” he felt himself flush. How had the conversation come to this, he hadn't even meant this at all. He shook his head, somehow filled with images of Kurt kissing the base of his throat.
Kurt mumbled, breaking the silence. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable.”
Blaine grabbed Kurt's hands and squeezed them lightly, before pulling Kurt into his room, taking him off guard. Kurt let out a little squeal. The two of them chuckled as Kurt covered his mouth, surprised at his own reaction. “Blaine,” the silence got broken, after they'd both composed themselves again and Blaine had sat down on his spot on the bed. Blaine stopped Kurt the moment he spoke.
“Kurt, please let me finish,” he smiled, “I wasn't on about that. I mean, I kind of do want to talk to you about that…but not right now.”
“Oh.” Kurt bit his lip embarrassed.
“What I meant was this,” he pointed between the two of them, “I don't want you to be in this with the wrong ideas. I mean, I love you and I care a lot about you. You're the first boyfriend I've ever had, “Blaine admitted, blushing. Kurt shot him an endearing smile. “And it's been absolutely lovely but Kurt you need to understand that I will die. I may still look alright now but that was because of the treatment. Now that has stopped having an effect you need to know it will get worse even though they are continuing to give it to me. I don't want you to think that I will magically heal, because I won't. So,” he swallowed, “if you want out, I would totally understand.” Blaine closed his eyes, not really wanting to see Kurt leave if he did. He counted to five before opening them again, seeing Kurt was still there.
“You didn't really think I was going to leave did you?” Kurt raised an eyebrow. Blaine shrugged. “Blaine! I'm here and I'm here to stay! I love you!”
“I love you too.” Blaine smiled.
“We might have less time than others but we still have time together. We'll just have to do everything a bit quicker then.” Kurt winked, making Blaine chuckle, “and about that…my dad would love to meet you.” Kurt mentioned quickly.
“Your dad? Really?”
“If you don't mind?” Kurt smiled.
“No! Not at all! I mean, I'd love to!”
“Great. I'll talk to him about it so we can set a date.” Kurt linked his fingers in Blaine's and got pulled closer by Blaine. Their lips met and Blaine's hands found their way to Kurt's side. Kurt put one hand on the side of the bed and propped his knee up on the mattress, supporting his weight. Blaine's hand were needy and urgent and pulled on Kurt's side, causing Kurt to climb on the bed and lie half next to Blaine, half on top of him. Both their hearts were hammering in their chests and they needed to pause to give Blaine a breathing break. “Kurt,” he was still slightly out of breath, “if the hospital knows, does that mean that you can spend the night?”
Kurt chuckled but shook his head, he crawled against Blaine, into the crook of his arm. “I wish I could but I'm not allowed that much. The nightshift will keep an eye to that.”
“Aaaw,” Blaine pouted, “Will I see you tomorrow?”
“Won't you get tired of seeing me?” Kurt chuckled.
“Never.”
Kurt kissed Blaine one last time before climbing out of the bed. “Goodnight Blaine.”
“Goodnight Kurt."
