Two little lines.

Pregnant.

Kurt wanted this but actually confirming that he was indeed pregnant scared the living shit out of him.

This all started 4 months ago when the discussion of children had been brought up. Blaine and Kurt both decided that they were in a stable part of their lives that if they were to have kids, this would be the right time. Kurt had an established fashion house and Blaine was playing Elder Price in the Book of Mormon on Broadway. It took them years to get where they are but now they own a lovely penthouse on the Upper Westside. 

They decided that Kurt would go off of birth control and they would start actively trying which is why Kurt is currently sitting in their master bathroom holding a positive pregnancy test.

Kurt had started experiencing morning sickness and excess tiredness a few weeks ago. Blaine was absolutely over the moon with the excitement of Kurt possibly being pregnant but Kurt insisted not to get their hopes up.

Kurt decided to take a test because he just wanted to get to the next part if he was pregnant. Doctors appointments needed to be made and husbands (Blaine) told. 

As he sits on the side of their large tub he cannot believe it. Kurt was so excited to have children with Blaine but he didn’t think it would happen this quickly.

“I thought I had months to prepare not just a few….” The feelings that were coursing through Kurt at the time were fear, excitement and pure joy but there were bigger problems with being pregnant. As Kurt was one of the most sought out fashion icon of the current decade he had a reputation to uphold.

How could he uphold such a connotation when he would get fat? He wouldn’t be able to wear any of his designer outfits when he is nine months pregnant. Kurt stood up and lifted up his buttoned up shirt already seeing a slight swell to his stomach.

As Kurt finished cleaning up in the bathroom and debating how much time he had left to wear that new Marc Jacobs coat that he bought himself when he heard the door swing open.

It was a Monday meaning that Blaine had the day off.  “Guess I’m going to tell him a lot sooner then I had planned.”  He heard Blaine call out “Hey sweetie, are you home?” and walked out of the bathroom and through the bedroom until he was in the hallway.

“Hey Blaine, I came home early because I wasn’t feeling to well.” Kurt looked down and placed his hand on his stomach gently rubbing it. He knew they both wanted this pregnancy but telling Blaine is still scary.

“I told you that we should just get you to the doctors and stop worrying…” Blaine stopped mid-sentence as he walked into the hallway and saw Kurt’s hand gently rubbing his tummy.

In the next few seconds Blaine looked from Kurt’s face which had a serene expression to where his hand was placed on his stomach. “Kurt…doe…does this mean what I think it means?” Blaine walks until he is standing directly in front of Kurt cautious because there was no answer.

Kurt looks up towards him and smiles. Then he grabs Blaine’s hand and places it on top of his hand on top of his belly and nods. Blaine smiles so wide and starts to laugh. He hugs Kurt and just keeps saying, “I knew it! All of this time and you told me not to get my hopes up and I KNEW IT.”

“Careful, you are going to make me sick again.” Blaine stops hugging Kurt and steps back a little grabbing his hand.

“Do you want me to get an appointment for you? I kind of want to see if there is any chance that they can get you in tomorrow…just so we can actually see it.”

“Blaine it is not an it! It’s a baby, but you can make the appointment.” Kurt laughs as his husband quickly runs and grabs the phone making an appointment with his OB/GYN.

Kurt walks to the kitchen to put together something for dinner and just starts to think about how their life is about to change. Soon they would have a baby that was made from love. Kurt knew that he was going to have to stop over-exercising and soon his 5k run in the morning would become a walk with how big he would inevitably get but it would all be worth it.

Blaine comes up behind him and places his hands on Kurt’s hips. “Hey I got an appointment for you tomorrow but what’s wrong? Aren’t you happy.”

“I’m just not looking forward to my expanding waist line and not being able to fit in my favorite designer jeans.” Kurt continues to chop the salad as Blaine starts to kiss the side of his neck. 

“Kurt, it’s going to be a good weight! Just think that you are lending out some space for our little one. I really am excited to see you with a little belly.”

Kurt sighs as he turns around and kisses his husbands soft lips. “Well I guess I can lend out some space for a fabulous baby like ours.” Kurt continues to kiss Blaine as the food is slowly forgotten for other much more sexual activities.

The next day they make their way down the street to Kurt’s doctor. Kurt has decided to live up his last weeks of being skinny and is dressed impeccably wearing his favorite jeans and scarf to match.  He isn’t nervous until he gets up on the examination table with only a gown to cover him.

Blaine just laughs and holds Kurt’s hand. “Everyone has to do this! No need to be embarrassed I’ve already seen everything considering that is how the little one ended up there.” Blaine winks and Kurt can’t help but smile.

He looks down and notices that the swell of his belly is a little larger then he thought it would be assuming that he is early in the pregnancy.

“If I already have a little bump now, I don’t even want to begin to think about what will happen when I’m 9 months!” Kurt starts to rub his tummy as Blaine just rolls his eyes.  “This is going to be a long time if you think like that. That is why I am your husband to battle off all of you feelings of fatness”

“My own personal knight in shining armor.”

Right as Kurt says that to Blaine the doctor knocks on the door and they both say, “Come in.” It was a woman about the age of 37 with dark brown curly hair and a kind smile.

“Well Mr. Hummel-Anderson I’ve noticed that you are here for a very good reason. My name is Dr.Callahan and I will be your OB for the duration of your pregnancy.”  She comes in and quickly goes to sit down.

“Now Kurt I’m going to take some blood to confirm that you are pregnant. Don’t worry though the tests are normally right and then we will take a first look at your baby. Sound like a plan?”

Kurt laughs and nods his head as the anxiety continues to roll off of him in waves. She puts on a tourniquet on his left arm and draws some blood for the lab. Blaine holds his hand through out the process and cannot stop smiling. 

Next Dr.Callahan instructs him to turn his gown around and unbutton his pants a bit. “This might be cold,” she says as she places the Doppler on his skin. “Let’s see if we can find the baby…. if you look right there…wait a moment.” Kurt becomes nervous again as she starts to type on the machine and move the Doppler around.

“Is everything okay” says Blaine as he notices how nervous Kurt is. She laughs and turns around to face them again with the Doppler still on his stomach.

“Well boys, It looks like you are expecting twins! Here is baby A and here is baby B.” She points out the babies to them on the screen and they both start to tear up a bit.

“Blaine, your sperm would be so over-eager as to knock me up with twins.” Blaine laughs and just cannot believe that those are his children. His children are currently inside of Kurt! She turns on the audio part of the Doppler and quickly finds their heartbeats.

“Kurt, as far as I can tell you are about 10 weeks along and your due date is November 17. Now I noticed that you are severely underweight Kurt. Since it is a lot more taxing on the body of a male to carry children I am going to have to suggest to you that you gain at least 50 pounds through out the pregnancy.”

Kurt looks as if he is about to pass out from this information but Blaine quickly buts in, “Kurt calm down and listen to what else she has to say.”

“Take into consideration with a twin pregnancy you gain up to at least 30 pounds. It’s just 20 pounds extra and this will ensure that you and the babies are healthy and safe.” She smiles as she makes copy of the ultrasounds for the boys. “Now I want you back in here at 14 weeks for another ultrasound and to see how your weight is coming along. Blaine, I’m putting you in charge of feeding him and making sure he isn’t working out too much!”

“Oh I definitely will do that Dr.Callahan. This just gives me a bigger excuse to indulge my husband.” Kurt rubs off the gel on his stomach and Blaine starts to help him up.  He looks towards Blaine and rolls his eyes.

“Only you would get this excited about fattening up your husband and making me relax”

“Yeah but it’s only to keep you and the babies safe.”

Kurt walks out of the doctor’s office with her orders resting in the back of his mind,

“This is going to be a long and tiring nine months” but he can’t stop smiling at the thought of having his two babies in time for Thanksgiving.
