After a while, Blaine had excused himself, he needed to breathe and think, something he could not do with Kurt’s warm, deep blue eyes gazing at him, as if he could read into his soul. Blaine didn’t need Kurt to know how he felt, he had just broken up with his boyfriend and surely wasn’t ready to dive headfirst into another relationship, despite how much Blaine wanted to and oh he wanted to. Very much. Blaine couldn’t handle the rejection at this point, he had enough broken hearted songs in his personal library and it could hold no more.

He leaned against the cool bathroom counter and splashed his face in attempt to get rid of the red that refused to leave his cheeks. He stood up straight and looked himself over in the mirror, his face was still red but not as much as before, his heart beat had slowed and the unmistakable heat settling in the pit of his stomach was gone, well… almost gone. He wasn’t too sure where all these feelings came from all of a sudden, he had just met the guy, but felt close enough to him to actually stay in the bed when Kurt had sleepwalked and crawled into his bed, it was kind of… exciting.

Feeling calm enough, Blaine returned to the living room to find Kurt browsing through his movie and music collection, he leaned on the doorframe watching. He had to hold himself tightly to keep himself from rushing over to Kurt and pull him into a heated kiss, it was anything but appropriate at this point. Blaine sighed, a little too loudly, startling Kurt whose head snapped around almost too quickly. Kurt’s eyes found him by the doorframe where he held himself even tighter, he was surprised at how hard it was to restrain himself when those beautiful, blue eyes were staring right into his hazel ones.

“I-I’m sorry, I got bored, I didn’t mean to intrude.” Kurt stammered, embarrassed.

“It’s okay, I don’t mind.” Blaine smiled, watching Kurt visibly relax.

“Okay. You have a lot of Disney movies here.”Kurt noted thoughtfully.

Blaine ducked his head in embarrassment.

“Yeah. It’s my guilty pleasure.” He shrugged sheepishly.

“That’s adorable.” Kurt muttered under his breath.

Blaine’s heart stopped. Kurt had just called him adorable, he didn’t care how he meant it, he was taking it.

“So… umm” Blaine cleared his throat, “You hungry? I know I place down the road, if you’d like to…” Blaine trailed off as Kurt stared at him again with those sparkling blue eyes, a sly smile on his face.

“Are you asking me out?” Kurt asked slyly.

“Maybe.” Blaine whispered.

“What?”

“Um, I mean, no- yes, if you want to, I mean…”

Kurt stood, smiling, crossing the room, taking hold of one of Blaine’s hands, tightly wound around his body and held it.

“Sure.” He whispered, invading Blaine’s personal space.

Blaine’s heart was beating so fast, he was sure Kurt could hear it, or it was going to burst right through his chest.

“O-kay” Blaine managed to get out.

Blaine had taken them to a quaint, little Chinese restaurant a few minutes from his home. When they were seated and the waitress had taken their orders Kurt looked at Blaine, his eyes sparkling and spoke.

“So, tell me about yourself Blaine.”  Kurt smiled as Blaine looked up meeting his gaze.

“Myself?” Blaine repeated surprised.

“Yes, yourself.” Kurt answered amused, “I spent the night in your home, your bed even, I’d like to know.”

Blaine felt his cheeks turning bright red at the memory  of Kurt crawling into his bed last night and couldn’t fight that familiar heat pooling in his stomach.

“Well…” Blaine began, chewing on the inside of his  mouth, “I’m Blaine Anderson, I’m 27, I used to sing in restaurants, but now I’m a bartender.”

“Used to be a singer?” Kurt asked. Blaine only nodded “What happened?”

Blaine remained quiet for a while, Kurt considered changing the subject, then Blaine looked up meeting Kurt’s gaze. Kurt saw a trace of pain in Blaine’s eyes but pretended he didn’t.

“I’ll tell you later okay?”  Blaine said in such a whisper, Kurt almost hadn’t heard it. He wondered what could be so bad Blaine couldn’t just tell him here.

“Okay.” Kurt shrugged.

“Your turn.”

“What?”

“Tell me about you.”

“Oh. Well. I’m Kurt Hummel, I’m 26 and a student at NYADA.”

“NYADA.”Blaine said thoughtfully, “That’s pretty cool.”

Kurt only shrugged as the waitress returned with their food. Two ate, sharing bits of information about each of their lives. As the day went by Kurt felt he had known Blaine his whole life and the same for Blaine.

Blaine reached for his wallet when the waitress brought their bill. Kurt began to protest.

“You don’t need to pay for me Blaine, you have already done more than enough”

“It’s fine. I want to.”

“But-“ Kurt began.

“You can pay next time around.” Blaine replied simply as he placed a very generous tip under his plate.

“Next time?” Kurt asked, heart speeding, expecting Blaine to realize what he just said and take it back, only he didn’t.

“I mean…If you want there to even be a next time because I- y’know..” Blaine faded out, eyes focused on his hands in front of him.

“I’d like that.” Kurt smiled as he looked up smiling too. Blaine looked so good when he smiled Kurt couldn’t help realize. Blaine’s smile made him want to throw everything off the table, climb across and just kiss those soft lips until they were swollen and he couldn’t breathe. Kurt shook his head, trying to get the image out of his head as he felt the familiar uncomfortable strain in his pants. He couldn’t afford for Blaine to see him like that, there was no way to hide it, Kurt was wearing his tightest jeans and it was going to be as obvious as ever. Kurt hoped Blaine wouldn’t be ready to leave just yet, so he wouldn’t have to get up. As if the universe as working against him, Blaine stood saying something about work, Kurt stood, praying to the Gods the dark fabric of his jeans would hide his strain.

“Oh.” He heard Blaine whisper, Kurt turned to look at him. Blaine’s eyes were staring right at Kurt’s strain, as soon as he realized kurt was watching him, he quickly looked elsewhere. Kurt felt embarrassed and just wanted to go home. But he didn’t have one.

“Back to my place?” Blaine asked.

“Yeah. I guess.”

Kurt did his best to walk normally, despite the unwelcomed strain in his pants, he knew that Blaine had already seen it but still.

When they reached Blaine’s home they both excused themselves. It was a little after 5 when they both returned from where ever. They settled into the chairs opposite each other in Blaine’s living room talking until Blaine said he had to get to work. Kurt felt strange staying alone at Blaine’s home so he went with him.

The bar was loud and crowded as Blaine took his usual post behind the bar. Kurt took a seat on one of the stools close by just watching as Blaine interacted with customers or dealt with under aged kids trying to lie their way into a drink. Kurt found himself smiling as Blaine glanced his way, checking if he was still there. He could sit there watching Blaine all night. He could think of a couple other things he could do with Blaine all night too. Kurt started to drift off into fantasy when he was pulled out by someone grabbing his backside, secretly he had hoped it was Blaine, but it wasn’t. It was the last person Kurt had expected to see, but then wasn’t surprised at all. Jake was a sad alcoholic anyway.

“Hey babe.” Jake whispered in his ear his arm creeping around Kurt’s waist.

“Don’t.” Kurt said flinching away from Jake’s touch, “call me that.”

Come to think of it, he couldn’t think of any logical reason he was with Jake in the first place.

Blaine glanced over at that moment, frowning a bit. Kurt shrugged ever so slightly as Blaine returned to his work.

“What do you want?” Kurt sighed tiredly.

“You.” Jake whispered.

“I’ve moved on. And so have you.”

“I still love you.”

“No. No Jake you don’t or you wouldn’t have been drinking yourself sick and sleeping around. That is not love. And I’m sick of it.”

Kurt could smell the alcohol on his breath and wished he hadn’t said that, Jake had a violent streak when he was drunk. No sooner said than done, Jake’s fist had connected with Kurt’s face. Kurt hit the ground with a thud as Jake punched again.”

“Kurt!!” He heard Blaine scream.

Then he was out.

Oh I think you definitely need to keep writing this story !! I love it! I just found it tonight and plowed through it!! Keep writing :) I must know what happens to Kurt!!

I really enjoyed this chapter. It was nice to see Blaine and Kurt getting to know each other and it was good to see Blaine find the courage to ask him out. I have decided that I am really not a fan of Jake and I hope that he gets what is coming to him. I can't wait to see what happens next and to see if Blaine takes care of Kurt after being punched.

Can you write more please? im dieing !!
