CHAPTER 1

It's September of 1944. It was a quiet morning. Quieter than usual for Germany. Kurt Hitler was lying on his bed enjoying the warm air that passed through his open window, thinking about how much his life was going to change in the following months. Now that he was 21 years old he was expected to get married. He knew he had been betrothed since he was born. His fiancée is a pretty blonde girl named Quinn. Their parents have known each other since they were in college and they made the decision to get them engaged when they found out they were having a boy and a girl. Quinn was only about 8 months younger than Kurt. They had gotten along very well. They used to go out to the back gardens on the Hitler's residence and play all day. Kurt used to climb on trees and get some fresh apples so they could eat them fresh and juicy while walking to the oak tree at the middle of the gardens. There was no doubt that they were best friends.

~10 years prior to 1944~

The Hitler's gardens were huge. They called it gardens but it was mainly a forest. One day, Kurt was really bored. Quinn hadn't been able to come because she had gone on a trip with her parents and he was tired of being stuck in the house. He got out by the back door that led to the forest and started walking. He decided that the best way to stay busy was by walking and exploring the forest. He climbed a tree and got himself an apple and started walking again. He didn't know how much did he walk but suddenly he was arriving to an enormous pond. It was so beautiful. The water was pure and clear and there were flowers that fell from the trees scattered all over the surface. Suddenly he looked up and saw that he had arrived to the end of the forest. There was this HUGE wall that separated something from the forest. He shrugged and looked down to the pond again. It was so pretty. He decided that this was going to be his secret place. A place where he could relax and be himself. He didn't tell anyone about this place, not even Quinn.

~Back to 1944~

He shook his head that had gone blurry from the flashback and got to his feet. He knew where he had to go to clear his mind.
