“Blaine the pains are getting worse.” Kurt said 12 hours later as he breathed through another contraction. “I know and they are about 5 minutes apart now so we are getting there.” Blaine said putting a cool damp cloth on Kurt’s forehead. “Who’s we? I’m the one doing all the work to bring our daughters into this world” Kurt said as he was quickly hit with another contraction. “That was 2 minutes. I’ll wait to see when the next one hits and then call your dad.” Blaine said as Kurt squeezed his hand. After the next contraction Blaine called Burt. “Hey kiddo how’s my boy doing?” Burt asked. “Well the contractions are 2 minutes apart now.” Blaine said. “I’m going to pass you to Carole and she’ll tell you what to do next.” Burt said handing the phone to his wife. “Hey sweetie. Is Kurt pantless right now?” Carole asked. “Yeah, he wasn’t comfortable wearing them but he still has his boxers on.” Blaine said. “I need you to remove his boxers and tell me if you see anything yet. If you don’t get some lube and the latex gloves and insert 2 fingers to see if you can feel the top of the first baby’s head.” Carole instructed. “Okay. Kurt I’m going to take your boxers off okay.” Blaine said moving down the couch and removing the boxers. He lifted Kurt’s legs and spread them apart. “Can you see anything yet?” Kurt asked as he was hit with a contraction. “Nothing yet sweetie so I’m going to have to see if I can feel anything.” Blaine said putting the gloves on. He then opened the bottle of lube and squeezed a generous amount onto 2 fingers before placing them at Kurt’s entrance. He circled a finger around the opening a bit before inserting the first finger to let Kurt get used to the intrusion before adding the second finger and scissoring. He pushed his fingers in a bit more when Kurt had a contraction. It was then that he felt the top of the first baby’s head coming down. “Kurt, I can feel her head.” Blaine said as he gently removed his fingers and let Carole know. “Now he’s in the transition stage. How far apart are the contractions now?” Carole asked. “About a minute.” Blaine said. “Okay give it a few more contractions before you have him start pushing. While that’s going on grab Kurt’s bag and get clothes and blankets for the babies.” Carole said. Blaine ran to Kurt’s bedroom and grabbed the hospital bag and then ran back down to Kurt before taking out the diapers and blankets. After 5 more contractions Kurt started panting. “Blaine I need to push.” He said grabbing the back of his knees. Blaine moved to his legs and nodded at him to start pushing, his phone on speaker so he could still hear Carole. “What do you see Blaine?” Carole asked. “I see the anus bulging and about a dime size of the first baby’s head.” Blaine said as Kurt waited for his next contraction. “Good, just keep him calm as the head starts to crown, it will burn slightly as the head makes its way out.” Carole told him. “Okay Kurt next one a big push alright.” Blaine said. Kurt nodded his head and then tensed up before pushing as hard as he could. He could feel the burning as the baby’s head stretched him till he let out a breath. “The head is out.” Blaine said as tears were starting to fall from his eyes. “Get one of the blankets, 2 clamps, the suction bulb, a dry clean cloth and sterilized scissors. Once the first baby is out I want you to suction the baby’s nose and mouth, then clamp and cut the umbilical cord.” Carole said. “The pink blanket Blaine, that’s for baby A.” Kurt said as he felt another contraction and pushed with it. Suddenly the baby was in Blaine’s arms and he did exactly as he was told before putting a diaper on her and wrapping her in the pink blanket and handing her to Kurt. “She’s perfect Blaine. Baby Alyssa.” Kurt said as he held his first daughter in his arms. “Kurt sweetie, do you feel the second baby moving lower yet?” Carole asked. “A bit but not too much.” Kurt said. “That’s fine. It might take up to an hour before she’s born.” Carole said. “Blaine, can you take Alyssa, I feel like I need to push again.” Kurt said as Blaine took the baby and laid her in the bassinette he brought down from Kurt’s room. Blaine then got back between Kurt’s legs and waited for his second daughter to make an appearance. 10 minutes later Blaine had his second daughter in his arms and was cleaning her off before handing her to Kurt. “Hey Elizabeth, we are so happy that you and your sister decided to join us tonight.” Kurt said as he cuddled his second daughter who was wrapped in a light purple blanket. “Have the roads cleared up yet Carole?” Kurt asked as he held his youngest daughter. “They just finished plowing now so your father, Finn and I should be there shortly and Rachel is begging to come along but your brother convinced her to stay home.” Carole said. “Okay see you guys soon.” Kurt said before they hung up. Blaine had brought Kurt his bag so he could dress the girls before everyone arrived. Kurt had dressed Alyssa in a red and white trimmed baby dress with a red bow on her head and Elizabeth in an identical green and white trimmed baby dress with a green bow on her head. Then he put both babies in their bassinets and just watched them sleep. Half an hour later the door opened and Burt, Carole and Finn quietly walked into the living room where Kurt, Blaine and the babies were all sleeping. “Kurt, buddy wake up.” Burt said shaking his son awake. “Hey guys. Blaine wake up they’re home.” Kurt said nudging Blaine with his foot. “Oh hey everyone.” Blaine said rubbing his eyes. “So can we meet the newest members of the family?” Finn asked excitedly. “Sure. Blaine can you bring them here please.” Kurt said. After he had both babies in his arms he smiled up at his dad. “Blaine and I would like to introduce you to Alyssa Paige, she’s in the red, and Elizabeth Claire Anderson.” Kurt said. “They are perfect you guys. Congratulations.” Burt said. “Can I take a quick picture of you guys with the babies to send to Rachel?” Finn asked. “Sure. Blaine get over here.” Kurt said. Blaine sat behind Kurt with a hand on his shoulder as Kurt held both babies and smiled. “Thanks I’ll make sure she doesn’t send it to anyone else too.” Finn send hitting the send button. Not even 2 seconds later he got a text from her saying to tell Kurt and Blaine that the babies were gorgeous. “Hey dad, do you want to hold Elizabeth?” Kurt asked. “Yeah, I’d love to.” Burt said as Kurt placed the baby in his arms. “Carole, do you or Finn want to hold Alyssa?” Blaine asked. “I do but I’m afraid to drop her.” Finn said nervously. “You won’t drop her. Just make sure you support her head and bottom.” Blaine said placing Alyssa in Finn’s arms. “Oh my god, she’s perfect little brother.” Finn said smiling before handing her to Carole. “Precious, just precious. Now how about we let these gorgeous babies sleep and we celebrate Christmas.” Carole said as she and Burt placed the sleeping babies in their bassinets. “Thank you Kurt.” Blaine said kissing his lips. “For what?” Kurt asked. “For the most precious Christmas present I will ever receive. I love you so much.” Blaine said. “I love you too, but right now I’m tired and sore and just want to go upstairs with our babies and sleep.” Kurt said as Blaine helped him up. 15 minutes later both boys and their babies were in Kurt’s room fast asleep.
