Kurt Hummel sat on his bed, tears running down his face as he stroked his small, but rounded stomach. “Kurt? You alright?” his roommate and best friend Rachel Berry asked. “No. I never told Blaine about the pregnancy. I mean we didn’t even know I had the carrier gene.” Kurt replied. “Why? You seemed so excited to tell him when he came to visit last month. Actually that was the last time I saw him, why is that Kurt?” Rachel asked. “He cheated on me.” Kurt said matter of factly. “Sebastian?” Rachel asked. “No, he said it was just a hookup and I didn’t need to know who it was with.” Kurt said. “Do you still want to tell him?” Rachel asked. “It depends on today’s sonogram, which I’m going to be late for if I don’t leave right now.” Kurt said before getting up and kissing Rachel’s cheek. He then grabbed his coat, scarf, gloves, hat and wallet before heading to the door. “Let me know what happens!” Rachel shouted as the door closed.

“Hummel?” a nurse asked 15 minutes after Kurt arrived at the hospital. He stood up and followed her into the exam room. 5 minutes later Kurt’s doctor appeared. “Hello Kurt. How have you been feeling?” she asked. “Still got the morning sickness but the nausea meds are working wonders for me Dr. Williams.” Kurt said. “Good, anymore dizzy spells?” she asked, referring to the incident that led Kurt to discover his pregnancy. “Nope. I’ve been taking really good care of myself.” Kurt said. “Okay, why don’t you lay back and lift your shirt for me and we’ll get started.” She said wheeling the machine over. Kurt did as he was told and waited as the doctor got everything ready. “Okay, it’s going to be cold.” She said squirting some blue gel on his exposed abdomen. “Ooh you weren’t kidding.” Kurt said as she moved the wand around. 10 minutes later Kurt left the hospital clutching the sonogram photo with the proof that his life was about to change.

When Kurt arrived home Rachel noticed how pale he was. “Kurt, what’s wrong?” she asked leading him to his room and sitting him on his bed. “Nothing. We’re healthy.” He said before lying down and falling asleep. A few weeks later Finn called Kurt and invited him down to see the school musical he was directing. As soon as Kurt heard it was Grease he booked a flight back to Lima, Ohio.
