Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. I have some pretty awesome surprises in store. Comments still appreciated.
Not a lot of our old friends know we're together. We just don't talk to anyone anymore. I mean we still talk to Tina, she knows. Mike then also knows, then really only my parents back in Lima. We just really don't see anyone or talk to any of them. We've all kind of went our separate ways. Finn passed away when Noah was still in university and I haven't seen Sam since two years after grad. Oh gawd, I'd probably have to see Kurt there. I don't know what we're going to do.
We were now just lying in bed staring at the ceiling.
“So?” I asked.
I heard him exhale loudly, “I don't know. I mean I'm not ashamed or embarrassed of you or Lizzie. I don't see why we can't go but it's going to be hard and all at once. Are we ready for that?”
I rolled over onto my side to look at him, “This is going to be ten times harder on you than it will be on me you know. I mean everyone knows I'm out and I mean I might get some slack because it's you but all of the football guys will be there. If you wanna go we can just pretend we are friends if that will make it better.”
He rolled over to look at me, “How will that make it better? I love you and I'm not ashamed to admit that. And what about Lizzie? I mean she calls us both dad.”
“I've just seen a lot, I guess. Look at what happened to Dave. He attempted suicide when he was outed. And you've had a bigger and tougher rep than he did. I mean I know if Finn was still around he'd understand and definitely help you through it but I know it will be hard. Mike will help but I know it's not the same.”
Noah looked down when I mentioned Finn. That was the roughest I've ever seen Noah, at Finn's funeral. “Blaine, I won't end up like Karosfky. I love you and Lizzie too much to ever think about leaving you alone. And we graduated different years, so I mean most of my old friends won't be there, right?”
I sighed, “That's another thing Tina mentioned, Rachel emailed her and she wants to use this opportunity to get the Glee club back together. So,” I looked at him, “Most of them will be there.”
He rolled back onto his back and looked at the ceiling, “Did she say when this thing was?”
“It's dated for October 19th.”
He looked back at me, “Well, that's like six months away.”
“We don't have to go you know. We can both make up excuses about why we can't. You can say you can't get the time off work and my new play will be almost hitting opening night so.”
He sat up and looked at me, “No. We are going and we are going together, with Lizzie. This is my life now, you're my life now. Yes, it may seem completely weird and not me but lives change and people change. As long as you're okay holding my hand through this, I think we can do it.”
I sat up and took his hand, “What ever you need, I'll be there. I love you.”
He kissed me, “I love you too Blaine.”
“Can we just go to bed and sleep on it? We have time and honestly, I'm a little worn out.”
He nodded, grabbed me and we laid down spooning. I, of course, the little spoon.
The next morning seemed like last night didn't happen. We had busy lives and we just had to keep on moving. I was spending the day with the board and my co-producer. Noah was taking Lizzie to daycare and heading off to school. I have a feeling he didnt sleep much though. He was moving around a lot and seemed to stick closely to his side of the bed. I mean I understand, we really haven't been back to Lima, my parents always come here and Tina and Mike live here. There really wasn't any reason to go back. His brother lives in Las Vegas and that's not too far away, we are just really comfortable here.
I was finishing my cereal when I heard little footsteps running down the hallway and big footsteps following.
“Daddy!” Lizzie shouted as she ran to me. “Dad is trying to eat me!” I scooped her up in my arms.
Noah came in with a deep voice, “My favorite breakfast is little girls. Hand her over Daddy.”
“No,” she shouted and laughing at the same time, “Don't let him eat me.”
“Never,” I told her. “Then I held out my hand to Noah, “There will be no eating little girls today.”
Noah looked down and said deeply, “Ohhhhh. Just a bite?”
Lizzie was laughing hysterically, “No Dad. Eat Daddy!”
Noah smiled, “OK.” Then he went over and nibbled at my neck.
I pretended to scream Lizzie laughed as Noah backed away.
“Delicious.” Noah said as he licked his lips.
“Dad you're silly.” Lizzie said laughing.
“So,” I turned to face her, “What are you doing today?”
“Ms.Finney said we get to start our art pieces today. I get to draw whatever I want.”
“Ohh, well that sounds like fun.”
She nodded, “Are you going to be home for supper tonight?”
It hurts every time she asks that, lately, if I'm not in the music room here, I'm out at the studio with my co-producer. “I'm going to try my hardest okay girl.”
She nodded sadly, having heard that before she knew the real answer, “Okay.”
Noah chimed in before it got too sad in the room, “Well little girl, are you all ready to go?”
“Yep,” she said and I put her back down on the ground. She turned and looked at me, “I love you Daddy.”
I smiled, “I love you too baby doll.” I kissed her forehead and she ran off to get her coat. Noah must have noticed that I was upset because he came and hugged me. “I hate when she asks me that like that. I feel like a bad dad.”
“You're not a bad dad. She understands, I understand.” He said then kissed me. “I'll see you later tonight. Let me know if you will be home though, okay?”
I nodded, “Okay.”
He walked out of the kitchen and I sat there until I heard the door close behind them. This is my third Broadway play and you'd think I'd have this down by now but this one is different, it's the first story I've done based on my life. It's called ‘Young Hearts Run Free'. I guess in most ways it's about Kurt. Well my life in general as a young gay man. The song that I'm having the most difficulty finishing is the break-up, move on number. Maybe it's because I never really did get closure. Well I just hope that my co-producer can help me figure out how to fake it.
I never did make it home for supper, in fact I never made it home for bedtime. It was ten thirty by the time I dragged myself in the door. I snuck in as quietly as I could and hoping I wouldn't get too much of a look tonight. As I passed by the kitchen I saw a drawing on the table that Lizzie had done. It was her, Noah and I sitting at the dinner table. That just broke my heart. I walked into our bedroom and closed the door behind me. Noah was reading a book. He looked over it then at the clock.
“I know.” I said as I sat on the bed. “I'm sorry. I was with the script writers all night.”
He just nodded, “I know. Just remember that you have Lizzie tomorrow. Ms.Finney had to take this Friday off so she could fly out for a wedding.”
“I know. I'll make it up to her. I have to go to the mall and find fabric for Tamara.” Tamara is my costume designer.
“Okay.”
“Was she upset?”
He sat up. “Blaine, of course she was. She misses you. I explained that you were busy but that she got to spend all day with her daddy tomorrow and that seemed to make her feel better.”
I crawled up to him and kissed him. “Thank you.” I sat back on my heels. “And thank you for being such an amazing father.”
He smiled, “I'd do anything for that girl. And I'd do anything for you.” I laid down beside him, still fully dressed. He laid back down and looked at me.
“How did I get so lucky?” I asked him.
“You won the heterosexual lottery and got me.” He laughed.
I laughed. “You're far from heterosexual sweetheart.”
“Maybe now, but I remember the chicks I used to get. None comparable to you of course.”
“Of course. Now if we could please stop talking about your hetero life. It's giving me images that I really don't want to have.” He grabbed me and kissed me.
“That better?”
I looked up at the ceiling, “Almost.” Then he climbed on top of me and then shoved his tongue in my waiting mouth as he started to unbutton my shirt. “Oh, getting there.” He undid my pants button and slowly moved his hand inside my underwear. I could feel the blood rushing from my head to my now erect cock. I moaned softly. “Yep, all gone.” I kissed him again and we had some of the best sex we have had in a while. Although with Noah's experience, there really isn't a bad night of sex. Even if I was his first and last man.
