Rachel got ready for her coffee date with one Blaine Anderson. She decided to go with an artsy look, wearing a grey tank top under a white knit cardigan, leggings and blue Uggs and her hair in a messy bun on the top of her head. She was creating an Instagram account, which was a big feat for her. It seemed as if she was always singing, whether a current song or an oldie.
Blaine rang the doorbell to her huge mansion. He couldn't get over how massive her house was. He was wearing a Bearcats jersey, blue jeans and black Converse. His hair was in its usual style: gelled down.
“Rachel! Blaine's here!” Leroy yelled after answering the door.
“Thanks, dad,” Rachel said, running down the stairs.
“Have fun! But not too much fun,” Hiram yelled as Rachel and Blaine were walking outside the door.
“It's just coffee, Dad,” Rachel blushed.
Cooper was driving them to ‘The Lima Bean.' Rachel was in the backseat of the car, next to Blaine.
“What is Miss Rachel Berry doing?” Blaine asked as Rachel pulled out her phone.
“Just trying to figure this app out,” Rachel answered.
“What app, exactly?” Blaine asked.
“Instagram,” Rachel replied.
“Excuse me, am I hearing right? Because I thought I heard you say you were on Instagram,” Blaine was sure he heard her wrong.
“Yes. I am creating an Instagram. My user is @rachelberrynd,” Rachel answered.
“OK, cool. I'll follow you,” Blaine pulled his phone out, opened Instagram and followed Rachel. “Uh…what does the ‘nd' in your username stand for?”
“Oh. That's just the Glee club I'm in. New Directions,” Rachel answered.
“New Directions? The Warblers, the Glee club I'm in, is competing against them at Sectionals this year!” Blaine's head shot up. He knew what Wes would say.
“So, uh, any idea what you're singing?” Blaine asked.
“Even if I did know, I would never tell you. You're our competition,” Rachel answered.
“Come on, please? I won't tell anyone,” Blaine begged, giving her the puppy-dog eyes.
“Nope,” Rachel said. “My friend, Kurt, gives me the eyes all the time. You two would be great friends.”
“What makes you say that?” Blaine asked.
“I don't know, maybe it's just that he's so diva and you're so chill. Maybe it's because you have the same hobbies. Maybe it's because you both have mastered the puppy eyes,” Rachel answered.
“I love you, you know that?” Blaine asked.
“Yes. I do. I love you, too,” Rachel kissed him. Normally, the kiss would have been filled with passion, but this time, nothing. No usual sparks. The kiss was…horrible. And that was the first clue that Blaine Anderson and Rachel Berry were falling out of love.
