This one was really short, so Ill try to get another chapter out tonight
Kurt woke up in the middle of the night, screaming. He was panicking; kicking around himself and getting ready to run. He needed to get away, things were dangerous here. Theyd find him, they already had, they would attack him, so he had to get away. He tried to get up, but then an arm rested on his chest and he flinched away from it in fear.
"Kurt? Kurt relax. Its me, its Blaine." Blaine? Kurt looked at the boy in front of him and his face slowly came into focus. Kurt let out a breath as he looked into those hazel eyes, so full of concern and affection. "Blaine?"
"Yes sweety, Im here, its okay. No ones going to hurt you, Im here." Blaine put his arms around him carefully and Kurt melted into his chest, trembling. Blaine held him close, whispering words of comfort until his breathing evened out and he stopped shaking. Then he pulled a little away, looking at him. "Do you want to talk about it?" Pictures flashed before him and his breath became ragged once more. Blaine pulled him back to his chest and stroke his back in comforting circles.
"Just give me some time," he mumbled into Blaines chest. "Of course honey, of course." They stayed like that for around ten more minutes before Kurt pulled back.
"Ready?" Blaine asked and Kurt bit his lip nervously. "Its not really important."
"Are you kidding me Kurt? Its bothering you and that makes it very important. Actually, its one of the most important things."
"One of the most important things?"
"Yes, but there are things that are more important. Like the people you care about, the people who care about you, the things that make you happy and the solutions to your problems." Kurt swallowed, losing himself in Blaines deep hazel eyes. How did a guy that said things like that to him even exist? "So, will you tell me? Im all ears. And hugs." Kurt let out a laugh before he took a deep breath, preparing himself.
"Okay. It was just one of the normal nightmares really. It started with some guy pouring paint all over my new outfit, and that included a McQueen scarf. Then it was a couple of slushies, but these are just normal, everyday things, Im used to them. But after that, things got serious. I was a little boy again, back at my mothers funeral. It just brought back all the memories, the emotions. Oh, I miss her so much. I just sat there, alone by her grave. It rained and then I was my own age again and I was still by her grave, but I wasnt alone anymore. A group of jocks from school was there and saw me. They started calling me names and throwing things at me and I tried to get away, but they followed me. I started running, but they kept up until I stumbled and then they were over me. I was so scared and it just hurt so much, and I cant..." He trailed off, tears streaming down his face. Blaine pulled him close, letting him cry into his chest for a while, "You okay sweetie?"
"Yeah, Im better now. Thanks for listening to me, And hugging me, especially for hugging me."
"Anytime Kurt. Just say the word and open your arms or whatever and Ill be there to hug you close, day and night." Kurt snuggled closer to him, breathing in the sweet smell of Blaine.
"You must be really important tonight."
"I always am, but what made you come to that conclusion?"
"Well you said that the most important things are the people I care about, the people who care about me, the things that make me happy and the solutions to my problems. I care about you, I really really do. I think you care about me?"
"Loads and loads Kurtie."
"You make me happy when Im in my darkest place, and tonight you helped me solve my problems. You fill all the criteria, which makes you a really important person."
"Oh Kurt," Blaine pulled him even closer. "Youre so incredibly cute." A light blush covered his cheeks, but Kurt didnt let that affect him. "So Ive been told." Blaine laughed a bit and ran a hand through the others hair. It showed how comfortable Kurt was with him that he didnt complain, ‘cause no one touched his hair. "We should get some sleep."
"Yeah. Good night Blaine, sleep tight."
"And dont let the bed bugs bite. Good night Kurt." Blaine touched his lips to his forehead in a kiss that lingered longer than it had to, though not nearly long enough in Kurts opinion. He buried his head deeper into Blaines chest and fell asleep to the sound of his heartbeat.
