Author's Notes: Sorry it's so late!
Blaine blinked slowly, trying to rid his head of the fogginess that had decided to gather there. When his vision cleared, he could see Santana, no longer shouting, and someone else whose back was to him.

"It's not Hell, I promise," he heard a soft, melodious voice say.

Something slowly clicked.

"Hey, hey, what's going on?" he groaned, pushing himself to his feet and stumbling over to them.

The person who had been facing away now turned towards Blaine. He could make out milky-white skin and soft chestnut hair falling over bright blue-grey eyes.

Those eyes were now narrowed into slits, glaring angrily at him. The same melodious voice as before was speaking, but this time, it was sharp as a knife.

"None of your business, boy. This girl has stayed here far too long. It's time for her to move on."

"So you are sending me to Hell!" Santana said accusingly.

"No, it's not Hell, I promise. It's practically a paradi-"

"Don't pull that shit with me!" Santana cut across. "You're trying to send me to Hell. Well I ain't buying it. I'm not going." She crossed her arms and turned away from him, sticking her nose in the air.

"Well you can't just stay here!" the boy snapped, losing his soothing tone.

"Watch me," she said.

Blaine looked from the boy to Santana. On one hand, Santana had been one of the best friends he'd ever had. She made him forget about the loneliness that was always there, lingering at the back of his mind, however temporary. She was actually fairly good at detecting his moods, despite her "indifference," and always knew how to make him laugh. On the other hand, she'd obviously stayed in the living world for far too long, and who knew what would happen to her?

"S-santana," Blaine said, wincing as his head gave a particularly painful throb. "I think-I think it's time for you to leave."

"You heard me, Anderson. I'm not going anywhere, especially not with him."

"Brittany loves you, Santana, Have you ever seen how she is in school? She's miserable," he said fiercely.

"What makes you think it's about her?"

"Well you're not exactly hanging around your own house, are you?"

"Shut up! Just shut up!" Santana yelled. "You have no idea what it's like. Having to go through every day, being in love with her, not being able to say anything, not even knowing if she loves you back!"

"But she does love you, Santana. She always has."

"How do you know?" she asked quietly, looking more vulnerable than he'd ever seen her. He reached out and gently placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Just trust me," he said.

There was a moment then, a single moment in which Santana hesitated. In which a delicate balance was maintained, in which she could tip the scale with a couple words or a syllable even a single breath of air.

Her mouth twitched

The balance was lost.

"Okay," she said.

The boy walked over to them, as he had distanced himself from them with a neutral expression on his face. Only his voice seemed slightly tighter as he said, "Are you ready to go?"

"Y-yeah," Santana replied, nervousness still laced throughout her voice. The boy retrieved the knife from where it had fallen earlier. He walked over to Santana and raised his arm before Blaine intervened.

"Wait, wait, what are you doing?" he asked, still slightly wary of the boy.

He regarded Blaine with a superior air, as one would an over-curious child.

"Oh, please. I'm not going to stab her or anything. And even if I did, it wouldn't have much effect, would it?" he sneered. Blaine just looked away, a little embarrassed at his overreaction.

"I was just wondering," he grumbled.

The boy raised his arm again. At the last second, Santana turned to Blaine.

"Don't let Brittany forget me, okay?"

"Promise."

The knife came down.

As the back end came into contact with her forehead, it left a mark in some strange language that he didn't understand. Small silver lines, almost like veins, spread throughout her body. And then she just…dissolved.

Santana Lopez had finally passed on.

The boy was brushing himself off and tucking the knife into a hidden sheath at his waist. As he turned around to leave, something inside Blaine clicked and he called out.

"Wait! Who are you? What's your name?"

He turned around, The light from a streetlamp fell across his face, illuminating one half and casting the other into shadow. The expression on his face was just as unreadable as ever.

"I am Murder. That's all you'll ever need to know. You won't be seeing me again."

With that, he disappeared into the night.
