The birds chirped from the backyard of the Hummel house, the window was cracked open slightly, the while soft curtains blew with the small May breeze that was coming in through the window.
A quiet song played from an iPod dock on the other side of the room, it was something very quiet, almost calming. He couldn't hear the words exactly, but that wasn't even what he was listening for anymore. He shifted his head on his boyfriend's chest only to hear his heartbeat and the small snores coming from his mouth.
The other boy's arms tightened around him, practically begging him not to move any further. He only burried himself into the other's chest further. He looked around the room to see that not much about it had changed. The lamp from the right corner of the room was gone, and there were a few less pictures on the book shelf, but his favorite remained there. He couldn't decide if it broke his heart, or made him smile.
The picture was fixed on two boys dancing in the middle of the prom. Both wearing matching carnation's pinned to their suit jackets and beaming grins.
He smiled at the memory then looked down at the man he was laying on. The same man that not so long ago was a terrified kid. Only trying to find somewhere, anywhere to be accepted for who he was. Having to run from everything he'd ever known just for the sake of being safe.
He adjusted the sheet that was draped over the two of them so that it was covering now up to his t-shirt clad chest. He couldn't remember when the last time they did this was. Just lie there, just lie with nothing but the music playing in the background. Maybe they'd steal a lazy kiss or two, but nothing more. Just the two of them, talking to each other, reminding the other how much they love them.
A small mumble came from the other person underneath him. He looked down with a small smile. He leaned down and kissed the older man's jaw.
His normally perfectly styled hair was tousled and in every which direction. Cutest thing ever Blaine thought silently to himself. His muscular arms wrapped around Blaine's smaller body. His lips only slightly parted, but enough to the point where small snores were coming from him. The sunlight that came from the window illuminated the hundreds of freckles that were splayed across his slightly tanned face.
"Good morning." He finally spoke, his voice rough due to the lack of use of it since the night before.
"I've missed waking up to that." The brunette replied.
"You have no idea."
