The ringing of the fork against Rachel's champagne class distracted Kurt from the conversation he was having with his cousin. He looked up.
"Hi guys!" Rachel smiled, "I need all of your attention, Blaine would like to say something to his new groom." She said simply and left where she was standing.
Blaine walked sheepishly up to where the grand piano was in the reception hall and sat down. "Not really say," Everyone laughed. "Sing." He left it at that and began to play the beginning to a song.
La da da da da da, la da da da da
Kurt felt a two pairs of hands push him towards the chair near the piano. He turned to see Finn and Rachel smiling back at him.
Where did all the people go?
They got scared when the lights went low.
I'll get you through it nice and slow,
When the world's spinning out of control.
Blaine grinned at Kurt. He winked at him and continued to sing.
Afraid of what they might lose
Might get scraped or they might get bruised.
You could beg them, what's the use?
That's why it's called a moment of truth
Kurt adjusted his tie and blushed at his husband. Husband.
I'll get it if you need it,
I'll search if you don't see it,
You're thirsty, I'll be rain,
You get hurt, I'll take your pain.
I know you don't believe it,
But I said it and I still mean it,
When you heard what I told you,
When you get worried I'll be your soldier.
Blaine played a few more notes of the song on the piano before shooting a charming smile in Kurt's direction. Kurt giggled in response and raised his eyebrows, waiting for the rest of the song.
Funny when times get hard,
At the last moment when you're supposed to charge,
Always on the longest yard,
Oh, they feel their feet getting cold.
Hiding here, hiding there,
Find them underneath the stairs,
People hiding everywhere,
Trying to be still like a stone.
Kurt could vaguely hear people in the reception hall 'aww'-ing at the sight infront of him. He felt the butterflies in his stomach that were first there when the man infront of him was only a fifteen year old boy singing a Katy Perry song to him.
I'll get it if you need it,
I'll search if you can't see it,
You're thirsty, I'll be rain,
You get hurt, I'll take your pain.
I know you don't believe it,
But I said it and I still mean it,
When you heard what I told you,
When you get worried I'll be your soldier.
Blaine looked around the room, nodding at all of their friends at the wedding from out of town, and even the people from around them, hoping they'd pick up his cue. He began his next verse as friends from both New Directions and the Warblers piped up with harmonized 'Ahh-s'
My aim is so true,
I wanna show you,
I'll try forever,
I'm never gonna say "surrender".
Blaine stopped playing the piano and sat quietly, he stood up and walked over to Kurt. Mike walking over to the piano and prepared to play again.
I'll get it if you need it,
I'll search if you can't see it,
You're thirsty, I'll be rain,
You get hurt, I'll take your pain.
He sang the words completely acapella, no sound was heard in the place but his voice. He looked Kurt straight in the eyes as he sang, touching Kurt's cheek on the last word of the verse.
Mike played the note on the piano and suddenly everyone around Kurt was singing again, but only in the background for Blaine to finish the song.
I know you don't believe it,
But I said it and I still mean it,
When you heard what I told you,
When you get worried I'll be your soldier.
Everyone was now around the couple as Blaine finished off the song to Kurt.
I'll be your soldier
Well I'll be, oh I'll be your soldier
I'll be your soldier
I'll be your soldier
Blaine stood infront of Kurt, waiting for his response. Kurt smiled and leaned into a passionate kiss with his new husband.
