Author's Notes: Another little story from my singledad!Kurt AU, it could be read with out the other's needing to be read, but they are quite nice too if I say so myself. They're the chapters "Anything in the world" and "Lost".

Max sat impatiently in his high-chair frequently pounding his chubby eleven-month-old hands on the tray attatched to the chair.

Kurt turned  his head from where he was sitting at the other end of the kitchen tale while he attempted to finish his pre-calc homework. "Hold on just a second baby, Daddy will get you something to eat in a minute." He looked back down at his book, hoping that Max would get distracted with something, just long enough for him to finish this one problem he had left.

But of course things never worked that way.

Max continued to pound his fists against the table and now he was kicking his feet. Kurt brought his head up from his text book, getting prepared to send him a warning look from where he was sitting, but the second his eyes met his son's, the toddler's eyes lit up and a wide grin spread acrossed his face. Kurt smiled at his son, I'll be over in a just a minute Max.." He reassured again.

Max hit his hand against the tray one more time before a small whimper came out of his mouth.  Kurt ran a hand through his hair, trying to ignore the noises from his son for just a minute longer, he wasn't forgetting him, he just needed a few more moments to finish this work. Granted, he was supposed to have this work done and memorized at the end of his sophmore year, but now in his senior year, he was just now doing it. Having a kid with a girl that you only 'hooked up' with to impress the people around you, slows you down.

Not that he'd ever trade Max or any of the time they'd had together for anything in the world, it was just that he wished Max might have come along later in life. And maybe from a surrogate, that maybe him and his boyfriend or husband would be paying for.

The pounding on the high-chair pulled Kurt from his thoughts and he stood up to grab something for Max to eat. He padded over past his son, stopping to kiss him on the forehead before walking over to the cuppoard. He pulled out a canister full of baby cereal. He started to pour a handful of it into his hand when he heard it.

"Dada!"

He turned around to see Max looking beyond frustrated, staring at Kurt, his wild hair going in different directions. His small eyebrows were furrowed and his hands were back on the high-chair tray, like they were ready to be smacked down again.

"Oh my God!" Kurt dropped the few pieces of cereal that had gathered in his hand on the floor and ran out to the garage. He looked out the door where his dad was leaned over Kurt's car trying to work on the ignition on it. "Dad!"

Burt shot his head up, barely missing the hood of the car that was propped up. "What's up? Is Max okay?! Are you okay?!"

"Max is fine, just. Come in here and see this!" He insisted, waiting for his dad to follow him into the house.

Max was still in his position in the chair, getting more and more aggravated by the second, he looked up and saw Kurt.

"Dada." He said firmly, putting his hands out to be picked up.

Burt looked over at Kurt and smiled. "Wow kiddo.."

Kurt beamed and picked up Max, who immediately ate up the attention and smiled.

"Dad, are you crying?" Kurt asked, looking over at Burt who was wiping his eyes.

"It's just kind of weird seeing my own kid have a kid of his own. And you're so young."

"Dad," Kurt sighed with a slight smile. "We're fine, we're gonna be fine, we've always been fine." He nuzzled his cheek against the top of his son's head. "Tell Grampa we'll be fine." He smiled down at his son who only returned the smile to both Kurt and Burt.

Burt smiled. He wiped his hands on the side of his worn out jeans and leaned in to hug his son, he squeezed Kurt tight and kissed Max on the head.

"Stop growing up so fast." He scolded the both of them with a small smile on his face.

Max grinned again and sqealed. "Dada!"

End Notes: AN: I think that might be one of my favorite chapters i've ever written for this. And that's crazy because it doesn't have Blaine in it, which is weird. I just really love this chapter. Ps, I know i'm not the only one excited for valentines day..(:
