"Daddy!" small feet thundered down the hallway and into the kitchen. "Daddy! Look!" Max thrusted a coloring sheet into Kurt's face.
"Wow!" He looked away from his laptop and slid his glasses off of his face.
"I know it's not as pretty as your drawings but.." Kurt's heart nearly broke in two. "It's gorgeous." He ruffled his son's hair with a smile.
Max beamed. Kurt loved when he smiled. When he smiled it was like the entire room lit up. A smile much like his moms.
And even though Kurt never really expected to be spending his junior year in college still living in Ohio, he loved his life. He loved Max more than anything in the world. Even if he was the last thing he expected.
But he knew he needed to deal with the consiquences that came with the things he did. And he learned from an early time that being a parent was all about sacrifice.
First it was missing sectionals because Max was being born. Then it was having to go through months of court work and judges so that he would be able to keep Max in his custody. And when he started going to the alternative school so that he could raise Max and continue with his education. And when he finally got his life put together enough to try to go to college, he knew he couldn't go to New York like he'd always wanted.
blue eyed little boy made everyday better for him. When he woke up in the morning and jumped on Kurt's bed squealing. Or how when his hair got a little longer, he'd practically beg Kurt to style it so that he could 'look like daddy'.
So even though he didn't get the dreams that he wanted to come true. He had a new dream, and it was to make sure that his son had the best life possible. And he would do anything in the world to make that happen.
