"Kurt!" Blaine called after him, chasing the frightened boy down the virtually empty hall. "Stop!"
Kurt ran, his hand over his mouth, muffling the sobs that were coming loudly from his throat. He came to the door and stopped. Looking at his reflection in the clear doors. Tears were already spilling out of his eyes no matter how hard he tried to stop them.
Blaine noticed that Kurt had stopped and took advantage of it by running faster to catch up to his boyfriend of only a few weeks.
"Kurt please." He stood a few feet away from him. Kurt turned, looking completely and totally terrified. "Kurt I'm so sorry.."
"Sorry for what? Sorry for not just walking away? Sorry for losing it? Sorry for punching him? Yeah I'm sorry too." He spat.
"Kurt you have nothing to be sorry for." He reached forward, putting his hand on the taller boy's shoulder, in which he jerked away.
"Yeah, I'm sorry for even bringing you."
Blaine flinched at the comment. "Kurt please I'm sorry I-"
"I thought things would be okay. That was stupid of me." He turned so that he wasn't facing Blaine anymore so that he couldn't see the tears that were now streaming down his face. "I thought maybe, me and you could be together, but I could still see them and maybe, just maybe things could seem normal, so I brought you tonight..Things can't be that way can they?!"
Blaine sighed "I'm so sorry Kurt but he was-"
"He hadn't done anything violent..You were the one who lunged!" Kurt talked over the warbler. "And now there's no chance I can come back because he-"
"You were really thinking about coming back?" Blaine spoke quietly, now finding his shoes more interesting than anything. Now he really was upset. When he'd punched Karofsky it was without any kind of thinking, and now, there was thinking, and it was causing him to hurt. Hurt more than he had all night.
"Blaine I don't know if I am but-"
"I-I'm just gonna ride back to Dalton." Blaine shook his head and turned away from Kurt.
"Blaine I don't know if I wanna leave I'm just-" He stopped when Blaine turned around. "I'm really really sorry.." Blaine spoke. "I shouldn't have done that, I just couldn't stand to see him go after you like that. And you're more than welcome to hate me now and you're more than welcome to come back here and I'll make sure that nothing will happen to you. Because after all this i'm sure you don't want to be at Dalton with me anymore and-"
"Blaine stop." Kurt gave a sad smile. "I don't know what I want to do right now..But i'm not going to break up with you over this..After all you were protecting me." Blaine only nodded, knowing that was all he was doing, None of it was meant to hurt his amazing boyfriend, it was meant to protect him.
"I'm sorry Kurt.." He said one final time. Kurt moved his fingers so that they were interwoven with Blaine's. "Let's just go in there and finish watching them okay?" Kurt spoke and Blaine only nodded, going into the auditorium.
