"Dada!" The brown haired little girl bounced up and down on Blaine and Kurt's bed.
"Yes baby?" He answered without even opening his eyes.
"I'm not a baby dada!" She bounced again, this time toustling Blaine's Curly hair in her fingers while doing it.
"Okay okay..Yes Karlie?" He rolled over so he was facing her, his eyes still closed.
"Wake up dada!" She put her four-year-old hands on his face and pressed them down on his cheeks.
He opened his eyes "I am awake!" He gave her a small smile, with his face still smushed in-between his hands. She giggled loudly and let go of his face. "Dada!" She drug out the last sylable of the word as if she was displining a small child.
"Wake up..I wanna call Daddy.."
He sighed and sat up next to her, collecting her tangled hair in his hands and running his fingers through it. "Daddy probably isn't awake yet.."
"But Dada." She reasoned, rolling her eyes at him "It's really late, he gets up and makes me breakfast most of the time, he can't be asleep right now."
"Baby, the time is different in California, there's a few hours of a time difference.."
"B-But.." She looked up at him. He couldn't even think of how many times he'd seen that look this week. Kurt had only supposed to have been gone for three days. But that turned into five, and five turned into seven. He wished the fashion show he had to run was closer. New York and California were too far away.
And tucking a crying Karlie into bed every night was getting hard. He couldn't stand seeing his little girl this upset.
Every night it was the same thing. She would ask where her daddy was, and he would end up having to tell her he would be home soon. Even though he wasn't sure when he was really going to be home. Sure she got to talk to him over the phone, but even Blaine knew that talking on the phone wasn't that same as being face to face with him.
"Baby don't cry.." He pulled her into his chest where she proceeded to cry.
"When's d-daddy gon-nn-na come h-home?" She sniffled, barely leaning away from his chest.
"Soon baby.."
She nodded and nussled her head into his chest.
"Why don't you try to sleep a little while more?"
"Dada i'm not tired."
"MmmHmm. " He mumbled in a condesending tone knowing that she was still tired considering she was wrapping her finger in her hair and using her other hand to suck her thumb. "Come here." He pulled her close to him and toyed with her hair in his fingers. Her brown eyes looked up at him.
"I love you Dada." She said quietly.
"I love you too baby.." He smiled at her and kissed her on the top of the head.
Her brown eyes blinked up at him while she finished sniffling from previously crying. He held her close until she stopped sniffling and her brown eyes fluttered shut.
He leaned down again once he was sure she was asleep and kissed her on the forehead.
