Author's Notes:

A spark.

Yeah, he'd say spark was the right word. The minute dull, sad, blue eyes met bright, excited hazel. A sudden acorrd to stop this boy on the stairs instead of the lanky one with the blonde hair in front of him. Or the slightly more muscular one with the peircing green eyes.

A single tap on the shoulder changed everything for good.

Weeks of sneaky glances across wooden table tops in a far-too-small coffee shop, and flirtatious greetings and goodbyes.

Then valentines day came with declarations of lust and misunderstandings.

But the spark was still there.

Then came March with slightly warmer temperatures, but nothing less than cloudy days everyday.  The sad, blue eyes Blaine had seen on the stairs had returned, and the spark ignited with more of a vengence than ever before.

The clock ticked loud enough that Kurt didn't even know if he could hear himself think straight. He glued another stone to the side of a small box. The one he'd be burrying, what felt like his only friend, in. He jumped at the sound of the capacious door of the commons room opening. He looked up to see the same hazel eyes he'd seen on the stairs almost five months ago staring at him. But this time there was a little more of something in them. He'd thought of it as maybe a spark.

The confession came out over what was supposed to only start as a small talk conversation about what song they'd be singing at their next competition. But it quickly turned into the admitting of the strong spark that had all but raged inside of him since November.

You move me.

He leaned quickly into the kiss, hoping this wasn't a mistake.

Please want me as much as I want you.

Please don't tell me it's too late.

Please love me.

The two shyly backed away from the kiss. The younger bowing his head in a bashful fashion.

"We should practice."

"I thought we were."

Sparks ignited into flames.

"He're we are with nothing but this little spark. It's too cold outside, to lay this fire to rest."
