AN: I really wanted to write this because I honestly loved this movie so much and especially the parts with the kids in it, he was absolutely adorable! And I could sort of relate his story with Kurts, so I rolled with it! Thanks so much for reading!
To say Burt was shocked he was doing this was an understatement. But hed do anything for the petite blue-eye boy hed raised.
He was sure Kurt had fallen into some sort of depression after Elizabeth had died, he was completely worried for him and could hardly leave him alone. He didnt know what he could have been doing in his room all the time, but whenever he came out hed looked like hed been crying.
It wasnt a huge one, but it was an effort when hed had taken Kurt out for hot chocolate and out to the pier that the three of them liked to go to before Elizabeth had passed away. Both of them bundled up in coats and gloves while the cold December wind blew around them.
"So, are you okay?" He asked, internally kicking himself for not being a little more gentle with the boy whod just lost his mother.
"I just, I know everythings supposed to be about mom, and thats who I should be thinking about but-"
Burt braced himself for the worst.
"Im in love. And it sucks."
Burt chuckled, nodding in agreement.
"It does suck."
"His names Blaine and hes only in town for a few more weeks, hes moving back home to New York after Christmas break. And he doesnt even know my name."
And so, the next few weeks were spent trying to find ways to get Blaines attention before he went back home. Kurt had mentioned that he would be in the pageant for school, singing a song that needed a band. So it was decided Kurt would play drums for it.
The next three weeks were spent listening to loud drum sounds coming from the nine year olds room. A sign hanging from his door, that said Long live Starr, the love of the Beatles from his mom must have rubbed of on the kid.
A few days before the pageant Burt stood outside of the boys door. "Come on." He yelled over the drums pounding.
"You gotta come out and eat something.."
"Look at the door!" A little voice called.
No, Im not hungry was written across the chalk sign on the door. He sighed and walked back into the kitchen.
The day of the pageant snuck up on the two before they knew it and now Kurt was standing backstage of the school, Burt by his side.
"Go get him, kiddo." Burt patted his back before the boy walked on to the stage.
"I dont want a lot for christmas, there is just one thing I need. I dont care about the presents, underneath the christmas tree, I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know. Make my wish come true, all I want for christmas, is you." The boy stood and sang, this must have been the Blaine Kurt had been speaking of, the kid was short. But had a lot of spark in him, and his voice sounded like hed been trained in singing.
The song sped up and now Kurt was playing drums with it, eyes on Blaine the entire time he danced across the stage. A love struck look on his face.
"All I want for Christmas is you!" Blaine turned and pointed at the brunnet playing the drums. Kurt felt his heart practically thump out of his chest.
"And you!" He pointed to another person in the audience, and his hear stopped. "And you!"
"Hey, it wasnt all bad." Burt tried to comfort his son a few moments later while the two of them were standing backstage, Kurt sighing deeply.
"You can still tell him before he leaves.." Burt nodded over towards the boy, who was talking to a few parents who Burt was sure was gushing over his performance.
And so Kurt did, and he got a kiss (on the cheek) out of it. And it turned out, Blaine did know his name.
