Dear Cooper, 

I know I haven't spoken to you in a while. I haven't spoken to anyone in a while, besides motel owners and gas station employees. But I miss you, and I wish you were with me.

Right now I'm in a town called Lima, where I'll probably be staying, at least for now. I stopped in a restaurant called Breadstix yesterday for lunch and they were hiring, so I applied for a job, and they hired me. I figured I might as well stay here; I don't really have anywhere else to go.

There's a tiny flat near the local high school that I might be able to afford. The girl who lives there, Rachel, is willing to rent me the extra room for barely any money, as long as I cook the food for us (she's a terrible cook) and don't complain when she practices her vocal exercises late at night (apparently she does this quite often, and no one wants to live with her because of it, but I don't mind, really). She's really nice; she's slightly conceited, though, but it's ok. It's kind of adorable, actually. You would probably like her.

I might enroll at the high school once term starts, I want to finish senior year at least. Rachel just graduated from there, and she says it's as good of a school as you're going to get around here. She also thinks I should join the glee club there, because according to her,  they simply cannot function now that they lack her expertise. 

I'm still surprised I got so lucky here. I miss you like crazy, though. I wish you would come visit me here.

I'll write to you again once I know what I'm going to do about school, I guess.
