Kurt was working late on one of his designs for the production of Evita that was just weeks away. "No," he told Brittany, "You don't need to stay with me, I'll be fine." This was the last costume that he needed to finish, and he wanted it to be perfect. He heard the familiar hard, heavy footsteps of the night guard, and it made his skin crawl. Here we go, Kurt thought to himself, and the steps get louder and closer.
"I'm tired of seeing your gay face around here, Hummel."
Kurt paid Karofsky no mind, continuing to work diligently on the design.
"Did you hear what I said? What, too much pixie dust in your ears?" Karofsky spat, increasing volume.
Kurt shrank ever so slightly in his seat, but he, still, said nothing.
Karofsky crossed the room and flipped over a table stacked with makeup and sewing supplies. Kurt flinched as the contents were strewn across the floor, makeup boxes denting the hard tiles, colored powders marking the white walls.
"What is your problem?!" Kurt yelled, but kept his distance as a precaution.
"You're my problem, fairy boy, you make me sick!" Karofsky picked up a hot glue gun and threw it against a mirror, shattering the glass. "Why can't you see it? The world doesn't want people like you, it's not made for people like you! You walk around like 'that' is okay, and it's not! Nobody wants people of your kind around."
Karofsky goes around the room, throwing makeup, sewing needles, fabric, whatever he can find. Blush and other things cover his hands.
The words stung, but Kurt stood his ground, and he got up from his workspace. "Oh, yeah? What about you? You think judging people like me is any better? Yes, David, I'm gay. There's nothing you can do about it. But ignoramuses like you are nothing to this world, all you do is hate. You have no idea what it's like to be me." David started walking closer, seemingly to intimidate him, but Kurt continued. "People have always put me down for who I was. But I am confident in myself. And I know I'm too good for you, and anyone who says any different."
Karofsky gets closer, backing Kurt into a wall. "You think you're too good for me?" he whispers, as he raises his hand towards Kurt's face.
Kurt ignores his question, focusing only on Karofsky's blush-stained fingertips. "You're going to hit me? Do it. It won't solve anything. I'll be just as gay as I am now, just as you'll be as ignorant and closed-minded as you are now." And Kurt braces for impact.
But Karofsky doesn't hit Kurt. He swiftly places his hand on Kurt's cheek and aggressively searches for Kurt's lips with his own. He kisses him, Karofsky kisses Kurt with an immense amount of hate, but equally as much passion, and Kurt is stunned to silence.
He pushes Karofsky off of him, and darts from the room. He frantically heads for the bathroom, locking the door immediately as he enters. He runs the water and rinses his mouth out, anything to get rid of the taste on his lips.
He looks in the mirror and sees a faint outline of blush on his cheek from where Karofsky's hand was placed. Kurt grabs paper towels, but with shaking hands he can't properly remove it. He sinks to the floor, numb to all feeling, and stays there, reliving the event in his mind.
He finally decides to get up, and he unlocks the bathroom door. Opening it wide, Kurt finds himself face to face with Sebastian.
