Short chapter! Im so sorry but I promise, it will get better for Kurt and Blaine! Please review!

"Kurt, honey!" I heard Mrs. Hummel call out from the kitchen. Kurts head snapped back and he unlinked our arms just as fast. And our moment was lost.

"Were in here," he said and I heard footsteps coming near the room. The door opened to Mrs. Hummel.

"Blaine! I havent seen you around here in a very long time. Its good to have you here, youre welcome to stay as long as you like," she said, coming over and hugging me tightly. She smelt like home cooking and a familiar sort of perfume. She smelt like home.

"Thank you Mrs. Hummel," I said, letting go of her.

"Elizabeth. Sweetie, call me Elizabeth. You two boys must be hungry. You can have milk and cookies, Blaine, your favorite." We followed Kurts mum into the kitchen. It was funny how Elizabeth had remembered my favorite snack, when I could barely remember it myself.

"These look great, Elizabeth," I said as soon as I saw the cookies. Kurt ran over and grabbed two before I could even think of doing the same.

"Kurt! Where are your manners? Guests first!" Elizabeth said, disapprovingly.

"Yeah, Kurt! Oh hey, Blaine, havent seen you here in a while," Finn, Kurts older brother said, taking a cookie for himself. So much for guests first.

"Sorry," Kurt said through a mouthful of cookies. He pushed the plate over to me.

"Thanks," I said, taking one for myself.

"So, I heard your dad went to visit one of your aunts." Elizabeth poured two glasses full of milk and passed them over to us.

"Yeah." I looked over at Kurt who indicated me to carry on with the lie.

"Do you know how long hell be away?"

"For a few days, I guess. I told him that I would be staying over here, so it doesnt matter when I go back home."

"Like I said before sweetie, you can stay here as long as you want. We love having you here." Kurt nodded in agreement.

"Thank you."

"Oh, by the way, Blaine, well be going to the movies tonight. You can choose what we watch."

"Mum! I thought you said that I could choose this time!" Kurt whined to his mum.

"Kurt! Manners!"

"Sorry, of course Blaine can choose."

I smiled and reminded myself to ask Kurt what he wanted to watch. Its funny just how many things can change, and how many can stay the same.

"Kurt, what movie did you want to see?" I whispered, leaning close to his ear, the seatbelt digging sharply into my shoulder. We were on our way to the cinema and I really couldnt guess which movie he wanted to watch.

"Blaine, you get to choose."

"I cant think of one. You choose!"

"Are you sure? Well, I think that we should watch The Road. That was the movie that Puck

and Jake watched."

"Okay." I turned my head and looked out through the car window at our surroundings flashing by. It was all blurred, but if you looked really closely, you could pick out an outline of a tree or house. Or something. My life was about the same. Most of it went by in a blur. Those were the things that I wanted to forget about. They were the things that I didnt want to think about. But my life wasnt all that bad, that if you squinted your eyes and looked close enough, you could see something which I could make out as being good. And maybe that was somewhat beautiful to me.

"Well meet you two boys out here as soon as your movie finishes, okay? Well be watching our movie in theatre two," Elizabeth said, passing over our movie tickets.

"Sure thing mum."

"Oh, heres your money for popcorn. Buy anything you want with it." She handed some money over to me.

"Thank you," I said, accepting the money. Elizabeth walked over to where her movie was being shown, while we made a straight beeline to the snack counter.

"What do you want Kurt?" I asked, eyeing the lollies but making sure I bought whatever Kurt wanted before I bought what I wanted.

"Um….popcorn. No wait, how about lollies? And Fanta. Oh, what about chocolate?" Kurt clearly couldnt decide what he wanted.

"How about a bit of everything?" I suggested, picking out all the food that Kurt had wanted.

"Ill wait over there," Kurt said, while I paid for everything. I could barely carry everything that we had bought, but somehow managed to take it all over to Kurt, before dumping half of it onto his lap.

"Hey, isnt that Jess or whatever her name is from our social studies class?" I asked, pointing to a girl, who was getting her ticket.

"Oh yeah, it is. Hey Jess!" Kurt shouted, waving at Jess.

"Hey Kurt, and, um, Blaine." She walked towards us.

"How are you?" Kurt asked, and I wondered if he really needed to talk to her. I regretted ever pointing her out to him.

"Good. What are you guys watching?"

"The Road," I said quickly before Kurt could even open his mouth.

"I heard that was a pretty good movie. I wish that I could change my ticket and go watch it with you guys."

"I dont think you can do that. I tried last time I came here, but they wouldnt let me," I lied. I just wanted her to leave us alone.

"Oh well, maybe next time. I should probably go. Bye Kurt, and, um, Blaine." I think she got the message.

"Shes hot!" Kurt was lying again. I could tell by his voice.

"I dont see it," I said, looking back at Jess.

"How could you not? Hey, our theatre is open." Both of us stood up and left for our theatre. We chose our seats right at the back. The previews came on and just kept on going and going forever. We had eaten half of the popcorn by the time the actual movie came on. It turned out the The Road just didnt appeal to me. It was just too depressing, the world ending, being practically the only people alive and cannibalism. Not the happiest movie ever made. I was bored within fifteen minutes into the movie and we had eaten everything. I could tell that Kurt was also bored.

"Im bored," Kurt said, lifting up the armrest, which separated out two seats. He shuffled closer

and leaned against my shoulder.

"Same." I put my chin on top of his head.

"Im going to sleep okay? Wake me up when the movie finishes." He shuffled around a bit more,

until he was practically sitting in my lap. I guess I must have fallen asleep too, because when I woke up, the credits were rolling and my leg had gone numb by Kurts weight.

"Kurt! Wake up!" I shook his shoulder in an attempt to wake him up.

"What? Who? Movies finished already?" Kurt moved off my lap and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes in a child-like manner.

"Yeah. We should probably go find your parents." I stood up and extended a hand to Kurt, who

took it and held onto it tightly and didnt let go.

"Im sleepy," he said, still holding onto my hand and half leaning on me, as we went to find his parents.

"There they are." Kurt quickly let go of my hand and straightened up.

"Kurt. Blaine. Did you enjoy the movie?" Elizabeth asked, as soon as she spotted us.

"Yeah, it was great Mum!" Kurt said and I didnt stop to point out that he had been sleeping for the main part of it.

"Come on, lets go home." Elizabeth put an arm around her sons shoulder and I couldnt help but feel a tiny bit jealous. I wished that someone would love me and much as Elizabeth did Kurt. Kurts shoulder bumped mine as we walked and I felt a hand slip into mine. He squeezed my hand tightly and I looked over at him and smiled.

He copied me.

And it seemed like everyone else in the world were shadows. It was only the two of us. No one knew what we were doing. But the thing was, neither did we.
