“Kurt,” Mr Schue’s weary voice crackled through the line. “Sam hugged Blaine, he knows he didn’t mean anything by it but he hugged him around the neck and shoulders. Blaine freaked out and threw a chair across the room. He nearly hit me and Artie, he then shoved Sam to the floor. He’s been suspended.”
Kurt’s mouth dropped open, shocked Blaine had had such a reaction and shocked at the school. “Don’t they understand what happened? He’s traumatised.”
Mr Schue sighed on the other end of the line and rubbed his temple. “Kurt you know how things are. He destroyed school property and hit another student. They don’t care. Sam’s very upset he caused Blaine to get suspended and the Glee club is backing him 100% but that doesn’t matter to Figgins or the school board.”
Kurt sighs and taps keys on his laptop absently. “So what do you suggest? What did my dad say?”
“He didn’t say much, just glared at Figgins and dragged Blaine out of there. I was wondering, thinking…maybe if Blaine was with you…I know you’re busy with Vogue but he misses you. It might, I think will, help him to be with you. Blaine told me you were coming home at the weekend; maybe you could take him with you?”
Kurt snorts, he’d only dreamed that a thousand times. “If I could, you know I would. Suspended or not Blaine needs to finish out school.”
“Kurt you and I both know that he’s intelligent enough. There are many actors and musicians around who didn’t rely on their schooling to be stars. Blaine’s not safe here, to himself or others. With you he at least has his boyfriend.” Mr Schue’s voice breaks on the line and Kurt wonders if it’s the connection or if the man is as emotional as he is right now.
He’s dreamed of coming home from a long day at work to Blaine, of long walks in Central Park, of waking up beside his boyfriend but he’d relegated those to ‘next year’. Now he had to face the very real possibility of bringing Blaine to New York early, of helping his traumatised love to heal in the big city with him. Kurt sighs and looks at his screen, not surprised to see ‘blaineblaineblaine’ is written across it. “I’ll talk to my dad about it this weekend. My flight goes out tomorrow night. I’ll call Cooper as well. Thanks Mr Schue. Goodnight.”
The man gives his thanks and goodnight and the line goes dead. Kurt looks at it for a second before he disconnects and dials in Cooper’s number.
“Heeey Kurt! How’s my favourite non brother in law?” Cooper’s cheery voice comes down the line on the second ring and Kurt rolls his eyes at the title.
“You’re too cheerful for this time of night Coop.” Kurt says, trying to keep the laughter out of his voice.
Cooper laughs loud and obnoxious in his ear, Kurt holds his phone away from his face until it ends and then brings it back, sighing. “Coop, Blaine got suspended today.”
There’s silence on the line then Cooper’s voice comes back, a few octaves higher than usual. “What? What happened?”
“Sam hugged him, he freaked out and threw a chair across the room, it broke, naturally then he shoved Sam to the floor. Principal Figgins was walking past at the time, he probably wouldn’t have noticed it if he wasn’t. Mr Schuester just called me.” Kurt says, relaying what Mr Schue had just told him.
Cooper sighed. “Can he come back to New York with us? I’m going to be based here for the foreseeable future now so we can both look after him.”
Kurt smiled, Cooper, always the one with the good, though crazy, ideas. “Mr Schuester just asked me that. I need to talk to my dad and Blaine and see what the school board says. I’m going home tomorrow night, can you come?”
There’s shuffling and Cooper hums, obviously looking at schedules and flight times. “I can. I can cancel some things or move them to Monday, or something. I can get myself booked on your flight, there’s a few seats free. What did your dad say?”
“Nothing, just glared at Principal Figgins and took Blaine home. It’s not the first time he’s had to deal with the double standards at that school. They don’t care about what happened to Blaine, just that he broke a chair and hit a student,” Kurt said, running his fingers through his hair. “I’ll try to get hold of my dad or Blaine before work and before the flight tomorrow. Coop, I’m going to go to sleep now. I’ve had a really long day and this, I’m exhausted. Goodnight.”
“Okay Kurt, we both need a good night’s sleep. Call me tomorrow. Love you bro.” Cooper says, yawning himself.
“Love you too Cooper.” Kurt says and hangs up, climbing into bed and curling up, memories of wide hazel eyes and a strong, very familiar voice lulling him to sleep.
Kurt stepped into the arrivals area, rubbing his eyes and searching out Finn’s face in the crowd. Cooper fell into step beside him as Finn waved, joining them as they walked over. Kurt fell asleep on the drive home, the exhaustion of the last few days washing over him, the murmured conversations of his brothers, by love and marriage, drawing him into sleep.
“Yo dude, we’re here. Wake up.” Finn’s voice breaks through his dreams and Kurt opens his eyes. In the darkness the house looms over them, he smiles. He’s home.
They walk up the path in relative silence, Cooper dragging his small suitcase and Finn dragging Kurt’s.
The door opens and his dad is standing there, his eyes wet. Kurt rushes to him and hugs him tight. Cooper is next and as Kurt steps away from his dad he barely hears the ‘Kuuurt’ before he gets armfuls of Blaine. Kurt wraps his arms around the younger man’s waist and hugs him tight before breaking away to kiss him softly and move into the house.
The second the door closes Kurt hugs Carole before Blaine reattaches himself to Kurt and Burt clears his throat.
They all look at him and he sighs. “He’s been expelled.” He says simply.
The silence falls like a lead weight and Kurt looks down at Blaine where he’s tucked his head under Kurt’s chin and tears are slowly making his shirt damp.
Cooper is the first to talk and steps towards Blaine and Kurt as the two wrap their arms tighter around each other and Blaine lets out a tiny whimper. “What happened?”
Burt sighs and scratches his head, looking at each of his family in turn. “Figgins met with the school board. They expelled him for violence and vandalism. The parents and school board don’t want Blaine in school, as volatile as he is.”
“Don’t they understand?” Cooper asks and they all shake their heads.
Burt walks over and puts a hand on Cooper’s shoulder. “No, buddy, they don’t. Blaine’s his father’s son to them. They don’t want another episode like yesterday and if he can be that violent over a hug, what happens next time? What if it’s not a friend but a teacher, another student, someone he doesn’t like?”
“Dad.” Kurt warns as Blaine bursts into tears against his chest.
Burt sighs and walks over to them, resting a hand against Blaine’s back. “Sorry Blaine.” He says and the younger man looks up and smiles weakly at him, standing up properly and then turns back to Kurt, hooking his chin over Kurt’s shoulder as Kurt rubs his back.
“I think it’s time to go to bed,” Kurt says and they all nod. “Come on baby. Let’s go up to our room.” He says and Blaine breaks away, almost running up the stairs. Kurt shakes his head fondly and hugs his parents and brothers before joining Blaine. Talk about the future can wait until tomorrow.
Kurt watches the early morning light trickles across the room, lighting his boyfriend’s skin golden and Kurt wants to trace patterns in the delicate skin but he doesn’t want to wake the peaceful man. After yesterday he could do with all the sleep he possibly can.
His phone buzzes on the nightstand and Kurt silently thanks himself for remembering to change the settings last night to vibrate. He grabs it and checks the caller id, raising an eyebrow at Isabelle’s name flashing at him. He leans down and place a soft kiss on Blaine’s should then slides out of bed, padding across the floor and slipping out of the room.
“Kurt! Kurt I have great news!” Isabelle’s voice sings at him through the phone and he decides it’s far too early as he trudges downstairs. Whatever Isabelle’s so excited about, he needs coffee to process. “We’re going to Los Angeles!”
“What?” Kurt asks, stunned and almost drops the spoon he’d been measuring the coffee into.
“I had this great offer to take over at the L.A Vogue office, Anna’s finalising the details and I get to take one person with me and I want to take you! Isn’t that great? Say it’s great Kurt, say it.”
Kurt stares at the wall as he thinks. It would be perfect for Blaine; he’d be in Los Angeles, where the music and movie scene but he has one problem, Blaine. Kurt had already resigned himself to packing him up and moving him to New York, finding him a therapist there and dealing with everything, school and a job when they were there but L.A? Now? “Isabelle, I have Blaine to think of.”
“I know it’s a long way but he can still come visit and you said yourself he might go to California when he graduates anyway, the schools there are suited to him and-“
“He got expelled.” Kurt cuts her off before she starts getting too excited and rambling.
“Oh. Oh my God Kurt I’m so sorry. Is he ok?” Isabelle asks, sounding worried and Kurt rolls his eyes. She’s only met him once and she already loves him. The power of those big hazel eyes.
“Yeah, he will be. I just don’t know. Cooper was going to help me and I have to find him a doctor and somehow he’s got to finish his schooling…”
“He’d still have to do that in New York, Kurt. Look, I know this is a lot and you’re right, you have to think of Blaine but this is perfect timing. Your friend Rachel is moving in with her boyfriend and there’s plenty of ways Blaine can finish high school there. I’ll give you some time. Think about it, talk to your family and then ring me to tell me you’re coming, ok?” Isabelle points out and Kurt has to laugh.
“Yeah ok, let me talk to him. Bye Isabelle.” He says with a smile and looks up to see those big hazel eyes staring back at him.
“Los Angeles?” Burt asks, his voice worried and gravelly, like he can’t imagine either of them that far away.
Kurt nods, glancing at Blaine whose head is bowed then looking at his dad. “Yeah. Isabelle has been offered to take over the L.A office and she wants me to come with her.”
“It’s over two thousand miles away.” Finn says as if the distance is some huge concern.
Kurt stares at him for a second before choosing his words. “New York is 600 miles away. I know it’s a long way but there are flights and I’ll be busy, it won’t be like New York where I’ll be coming home to visit every few weekends. Dad, you’ve been talking about moving to DC anyway and there are so many opportunities out there. I don’t want to let this go because of mileage.” Kurt says, gesturing at his family.
Burt sighs and scratches his head. “It’s not just the mileage, Kurt and yeah we have been talking about moving because of my job.”
“What about me?” Blaine says quietly, speaking for the first time since he’d walked in on Kurt hanging up from Isabelle and Kurt called the rest of the family into the living room.
“You’ll be coming with me. I get it, I know. I can’t leave you on your own. Doctor Samuels said you’d need me more than I know, I guess I didn’t really understand, but I do now. You can move with me and we can get you a doctor in L.A and you can be in the music scene you need to be in. We can figure out your schooling. We can deal with that later.” Kurt replied, taking Blaine’s hands and cupping his cheek to make Blaine look him in the eyes.
A smile spread over Blaine’s face and his eyes lit up. The family watched him breathless as he lit up, almost glowing from within. “Really? Can I get a guitar? I can learn to surf and we can be together forever.” Blaine says, excited and Kurt can’t help but laugh and pull his excited boyfriend closer, kissing him deeply.
Burt rested his hand on his knee, watching Blaine and Kurt, amused. “The sun and fresh air would be good for Blaine too. Okay, I’m in.” He says thoughtfully then grins, rubbing his hands together. Carole nods next to him happily and Finn nods, still confused but happy for his brothers.
Kurt grinned at them and then looked up at Cooper. “Cooper? What do you think?”
Cooper looked contemplative for a few seconds then grinned broadly. “I think I’m giving you my apartment until you guys get one. Hell yeah, my baby bro’s gonna go far!” He says, excited and they all laugh.
Blaine watched from the doorway as Kurt chatted to Isabelle, discussing plans and details. Kurt hung up and looked over at Blaine, smiling. He opened his arms and Blaine went, sitting on the bed, looping his arms around Kurt as they kissed deeply.
“Kurt?” Blaine asked, voice quiet.
Kurt smiled at him and traced his tongue over his boyfriend’s lips before replying. “Yes Blaine?”
“I-I want you.” He stammered, nervous.
“Oh you do, huh?” Kurt said seductively, voice low and purring. “Are you sure?”
Blaine nodded, smiling and pushed Kurt down, swatting his love’s hands away as they reached for the buttons of his jeans. “Let me. I just want this.” He whispered.
Kurt’s eyes widened in realisation. His boyfriend needed this, to feel in control of something as everything else spun out of his control. He reached up and kissed Blaine then lay back and let him strip them both. Blaine grinned at him as Kurt gave him a reproachful look for just dumping their clothes off of the side of the bed. He kissed down Kurt’s body, licking and kissing each of Kurt’s pulse points and rubbing over Kurt’s skin, listening as his love moaned underneath him.
Kurt panted as Blaine licked down to his cock, swirling his tongue around the base. He glanced up and looked into Kurt’s eyes as he sank his mouth down, swallowing Kurt’s hard cock. The older man moaned, his back bowed as Blaine sucked, licking and sliding his full lips up and down his hard shaft.
Blaine’s fingers grope the bed covers and Kurt lets out a breathless laugh, grabs the lube just out of the black haired man’s reach and hands it to him. Blaine looks up gratefully and hums around his cock, making Kurt’s eyes roll back in his head.
He sucks greedily as he lubes his fingers and slips one down between Kurt’s cheeks, circling his tight hole before slipping in. The moans from the auburn haired man fill his ears and fill his heart. He fucks the glasz eyed man and adds another finger, desperate to be inside him and be one. Blaine crooks his fingers and rubs over the sensitive nerves, digging in before pulling out and adding another finger. He pushes back in and finds his love’s prostate again. Kurt’s hips lift off of the bed and Blaine can barely force them back to the bed before Kurt comes, his salty juices sliding down Blaine’s throat as he swallows hard, Kurt’s hole pulsing around his fingers.
Blaine takes his fingers out and crawls up Kurt’s body, lying along his boyfriend and connects their lips, letting Kurt taste himself. Kurt squirts some lube into his palm and lubes Blaine’s cock up as they kiss.
“I love you.” Blaine whispers as he lines himself up with Kurt’s hole, watching as he breached his boyfriend’s body and Kurt’s smile morphed into a look of complete bliss.
“I love you too.” Kurt breathed as Blaine pulled out and pushed back in, setting up a strong rhythm, fucking into Kurt hard. Their lips crashed together as the older man met his thrusts push for push and moaned into his lover’s mouth as the angle changed and his prostate was slammed into.
Kurt’s breath hitched as the thrusts gained speed, pummelling his insides and wrapped his arms around Blaine’s waist, encouraging him on. He needed this.
Finally Blaine felt his balls drawing up and his thrusts lost control as he started cumming hard into Kurt. He groaned loudly as he slammed in, his hips stuttering as he filled Kurt, Kurt’s own orgasm spilling over their chests.
Kurt chuckled as they came down, rubbing the younger man’s back. Blaine slipped out and plastered himself up against Kurt’s side as Kurt reached over and grabbed the wet wipes, swiping the cool cloth over his chest and belly then Blaine’s. Done, he threw them into the bin and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend tight. Blaine opened his eyes as Kurt sighed happily and drifted to sleep, he watched, the smile on Kurt’s face never slipping as he dreamed of Blaine. The honey eyed man smiled. He’d done that, Kurt was smiling because of him, Kurt loved him and if he slipped his fingers down he’d feel his own cum, the physical representation of their love slowly leaking out of Kurt’s body. Nothing was better, and in these moments as the moonlight filtered through the curtains and their bodies cooled after their lovemaking, he felt that nothing could ever be better than this.
