Footsteps rang down the hallway as the announcer on the television spoke "There is the report of one student dead and one seriously injured right now. The school has been evacuated, save for a group of students and their teacher trapped inside and these are the reports of students and two teachers who allegedly saw the shooter. Police are at the school and SWAT teams are manoeuvring and trying to figure out how to get to the shooter and the students still in the school without more fatalities."

Kurt watches the screen, his breath faltering. He'd come on a surprise visit to see his dad and talk to Blaine but his dad, shaking, had turned on the TV a few minutes ago and he'd almost passed out.

A scuffling starts as a slam echoes down the hallway and close to them someone starts whispering.

On TV the door leading out to the bleachers slams open and Kurt's heart drops as a black-haired figure runs out, almost tripping down the steps as he runs then the screen goes black and the newscaster gasps.

Minutes later, with Kurt shaking and pacing, ideas of talking to his ex-love about the future and what it might hold fade into the idea of never seeing him again their front door bursts open and the same black-haired figure runs into Kurt's arms, tears streaming down his face, panting from his run and hysterical. Kurt's heart soars and he feels himself fall in love as he whispers into the curly black mess. "I'm here Blaine, you're safe."
