It took me a few seconds for me to realize where I was when I woke up, the hospital. As soon as I did the clinical feel hit me, It seemed to seep into my skin so much it made me feel rather sick. Or maybe that was there already. I opened my eyes and started at the black ceiling "hello" said a small voice from next to me. I winced a little as my eyes adjusted to the lights. "Um hello?" I said as I saw a girl who was no more then 12 with wide blue eyes and a colorful scarve "I'm Samantha," she said smiling a little "They've been really worried about you, I bet they'll be glad to see you've woken up" she said tilting her head a little as she smiled at Kurt. "Oh um nice to meet you Samantha…. I'm Kurt… how long have I been asleep?" he asked rubbing his head. "Um I'm not sure but I think I heard them say 28 maybe 29 years" Kurt's eyes widened and he sat up quickly "What!" he exclaimed. Samantha giggled a little "sorry, I had to um a few hours I think" she said giggling a little. Kurt sighed a little and laid back down closing his eyes in the process.
Samantha's smile faded "I'm sorry did I upset you?" said mumbled "I just though maybe It would cheer you up… I'm sorry" Kurt turned his head to her and gave her a small smile "It's okay I'm just pretty tired," he said honestly. He felt like he'd been hit by a bus or something. "Do you know where my dad is?" he asked. Samantha smiled "of course," she nodded "They went to get coffee, I'm sure they'll be back soon" she reassured him. Kurt nodded and smiled at her. He winced a little as she looked at his hand, there was a drip in it. "Don't worry you get used to it" she told him.
The two of them talked about hospitals and scarves for a while before his dad walked in. He looked so relived when he saw him sat up with his eyes open "Kurt, thank god!" he said sighing with relief and walking over. Kurt gave him a small smile "Hey dad," he said softly. "I'm so sorry" he mumbled wiping his eyes and letting out a sigh. His dad walked over to him and took his hand softly "how are you feeling?" he asked softly. Kurt didn't know how to answer He didn't feel good but he didn't want to tell his dad that. He wanted to cry and let his dad hold him like he used to when he was tiny. Like he did when his mom was ill and he knew she wouldn't get better. When his dad held him it would all be okay
but it wouldn't be.
his dad holding him wouldn't make him better.
"you should sleep" Carol told Kurt as she ran her fingers through his hair. Usually the young boy would protest if anyone went near his hair but he was too sleepy to care right now. Him and his dad where talking for hours, Kurt had been in tears for 4 of those hours. "I don't want to sleep," he mumbled "I want to go home with you and dad and Finn" he said before yawning and closing his eyes. "you know you can't son you need to stay here" his dad said. He hated seeing his boy like this. "Will you be here," he mumbled. His dad looked confused "what?" Kurt sighed a little "when I wake up? will you be here when I wake up?" he muttered sleepily. He was fighting to stay awake. "of course we'll be here Kurt" they both told him. He nodded them let himself drift off into a blissful sleep.
He was running threw a clouds He didn't know why he was. He wasn't really sure why he was running. In his dreams he'd ran before but this time there was no sense of danger or fear like there usually was, just lightness. It made him feel free, like he was flying. It was like he was high and everything bad in the world just vanished. He thought he saw something in front of him and stopped quickly but it was gone in an instant. He saw something on the ground so picked it up. It was a peace of paper with words written on it in golden handwriting.
Look out for the Angel boy with honey eyes.
Burt Hummel turned to his wife and sighed. He looked heart broken. Carol reached out and took his hand in hers. She gave it a little squeeze not knowing that to say. It was enough though. The two of them looked at there son. He looked do week and helpless. Burt reached out and stroked his hair a little. Kurt murmured and rolled over a little. Burt felt like a failure, he promised Elizabeth he would look after there son. He was supposed to protect him but he had no idea how to protect him from this. He felt powerless.
Comments
I thought this was really good. It is could to see that Burt and Carole are getting Kurt the help he needs and that he has at least made one friend already in the hospital. I can't wait to find out more about Kurt's dream and to see what it all means. I can't wait to read the next chapter.
