"Excuse me, but who are you?"
Burt looked at the guy in front of him. He looked him up and down searching for the pizza carton but the guy didn't have one with him. Right in that moment a car stopped in their driveway with the real pizza delivery guy. Blaine just wanted to answer the question Burt asked him but he couldn't even start his answer.
"Hold that thought, son. Let me pay for the pizza first." Burt told him.
Blaine stepped aside and watched the whole process of Burt paying for the pizza and saw the delivery guy leave again.
"So, who are you?" Burt asked again. This time Blaine was able to answer him.
"Sorry, I ... I'm Blaine Anderson. The new music teacher of your son, Kurt." Blaine told him.
"Ah, alright. He told me about you. But what do you want here if I may ask?" Burt asked suspicious.
"Umm, I ... I kinda saw what happened earlier at school, with Kurt and this other boy. And I wanted to make sure that Kurt got home safe and sound!" Blaine told the other man.
Burt then stepped aside and asked Blaine to step inside.
"Please come in. I don't know why you didn't help my son, when you saw everything, but maybe you can explain it to me a little more over some pizza."
"I... Yeah, sure I can try." And with that Blaine followed Burt inside the house. At that moment Kurt made his way over to his dad wondering where he was the whole time.
"Dad, Is everything ok? What took you so long? Was that the pizza guy?" Kurt asked when he rounded the corner to their door. He stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Mr. A. standing in his home.
"Mr. A. what are you doing here?" Kurt asked still confused that his teacher was in his house.
Before Blaine could answer him Burt told him that he saw what happened at school and wanted to see how he is doing.
"Oh, ok. Umm, I ... I'm fine. I guess. My shoulder is pretty bruised but it will heal in no time." Kurt told him while looking down on the floor.
"Ok, why don't we all sit down, enjoy our meal and then we can talk about the incident, ok?" Burt asked both men and let them over to the dining table. "Let me just grab some plates and we are ready to go. Anything to drink, Mr. Anderson? Kurt?" He asked before he left for the kitchen.
"Water, please if it's not too much to ask?!" Blaine asked shyly. He didn't even know why he behaved like this. Maybe he was just unsure what Kurt would think about him showing up at his place out of nowhere.
"Same for me please, dad." Kurt answered nervously.
"Of course not. Water it is." Burt said happily while making his way over to the kitchen.
In the meantime Kurt went his focus back to Blaine and wondered what his teacher was doing here once more.
"What are you doing here?" Kurt asked him since he still couldn't believe that his teacher was at his place.
"I ... I ... Lets just wait for your dad and I will explain everything, ok?" Blaine asked hoping Kurt would drop it for now. At that moment Burt made his way back to them and placed everything in front of Kurt and his teacher.
"Ok, let's dig in then. Enjoy!" Burt said cheerfully.
When they all finished their meal they went back to the living room and get a little more comfortable. Kurt couldn't help but watch his teacher during dinner still unsure about what is going to happen.
He really looks amazing if I tell so myself. It doesn't matter what he's wearing he still looks breathtaking. Wait, where is this coming from? Kurt asked himself when he checked out his teachers wardrobe.
"So, Mr. Anderson. What was it, that you wanted to talk about? And what did you see in the hallways?" Burt asked him suspicious.
"Please, call me Blaine. Mr. Anderson is my father and I really feel old if someone calls me that!" Blaine said with a smile hoping to lighten the mood in the room.
"Ok, fine, Blaine it is then. But don't think I won't judge you differently now!" Burt said with strength in his voice.
Blaine gulped and Kurt also felt uncomfortable even if he knew that his dad wouldn't harm anyone. Not even a fly.
"Ok, of course not." Blaine said and started to figure out what to tell them.
"When your son, Kurt, left my classroom after Glee practice I watched him going down the hallways." He said and blushed a little at this thought. He didn't mean to watch the boy walking down the floors. But he couldn't help but stare at this ass even if he wouldn't admit it to Burt right now.
"I saw that the other student push him against the locker. He came out of nowhere and Kurt didn't see him. He ... He ... I watched the whole thing but couldn't go over there to help." Blaine told them. But I really wanted to help.
"Why couldn't you help him or call the other boy out?" Burt asked him mainly calm. It was hard for him to contain himself. Someone saw what was happening to his son and didn't act on it? Really??
"I ... I did act on it. I went to the principal and told him what happened and what I saw. The other boy got a detention for the rest of the week and the whole next week." Blaine told them.
In that moment you could clearly hear that Kurt let out a sigh of relieve. He didn't know he was holding his breath but now he could breath properly again.
"Thank god." Burt answered. "But that doesn't explain why you are here right now." He pushed forward.
"Umm, right. I ... I wanted to make sure that Kurt was feeling ok after this shove. I couldn't ask him at school so I asked the principals secretary for your address. I know it's usually not allowed to do that but I was really worried about your son and couldn't wait till tomorrow to ask him myself." Blaine answered honestly.
Kurt didn't know what was happening at that moment. He was really worried about me? Him? My teacher? Why? I'm nothing special. I'm just Kurt.
"I know he also promised to think about my suggestion some more and I hoped that he maybe already did that?" Blaine asked hopefully looking at Kurt.
"It's really nice of you to come by and check on my son's health, Blaine. I really appreciate this. And as you can see yourself he is doing ok." Burt said looking over at Kurt who still couldn't believe that his teacher was worried about him. But why didn't he check on me while I was still in school? Why did he came over to see how I am?
"I'm not sure how long it will take till the bruise is all gone. I really wish that people won't hurt him. But I can't be with him 24/7 to watch for him." Burt sighed.
Burt then turned to Kurt and asked him about the music lessons since the question still wasn't answered yet.
"I ... I don't know. I mean I really like your offer." Kurt said while looking back, at his dad who nodded at him like he was telling him he should go for it.
"And I guess I would love to take your offer if it still stands." Kurt shyly asked looking at his teacher. Did I really say yes to that. I was lying to him. What's wrong with me? I can't lie to him like that, can I?
Blaine couldn't believe his ears. Did he really say yes to the music lessons?! He wasn't sure so he asked again. "You ... You want to take those lessons?"
"Umm, ... I ... Yes. Yes, I would love to." Kurt finally said more confident.
"Ok, umm. Awesome." Blaine said happily. "I guess we can figure out the details tomorrow at school, right?" He asked his student.
"Yeah, yeah sure we can do that." Kurt replied and blushed a little.
"Amazing. I guess I should get going then" Blaine said and got up from his seat. Kurt wanted to scream "no, please stay" but he didn't.
Blaine shook Kurt's hand and Burt followed him to the door to let him out. Kurt stayed behind so I didn't hear what his dad was saying to his teacher.
"Blaine, thank you for watching out for my son. I'm glad you saw what happened today. I just hope he will be safe at that school from now on." Burt told him.
"Mr. Hummel, there is no need to thank me. I'm just glad that he is doing ok for now. And don't worry about your son. I promise I will watch out for him!" Blaine responded while locking eyes with Burt.
The other man nodded and thanked him again silently. They both knew that they cared about Kurt deeply. Even if Burt wasn't sure what to think about Blaine's intentions right now. Did he have feelings for his son? Did he just care about his student? Burt wasn't sure what to think about this. Blaine seemed like a nice guy though. He guessed time would tell.
Blaine then left the Hummel's place and made his way back home.
Burt got back to his son in the living room not telling him what he talked to Blaine about.
"Dad?? What did I just do?" Kurt asked hopeless. "I can't be lying to him anymore. I need to tell him the truth about my singing voice." Kurt said and broke down again. Sobbing.
Burt went over to his son and tried to calm him down. He took him in his arms and tried his best to sooth him. "Shhh, it's ok, Kurt. We will figure something out. I promise!"
