Chapter Nine
Kurt woke up feeling Blaine's arms around him, securing him and keeping him safe. The panic that had filled him when he had seen himself disappear was slowly dying down, being replaced by curiosity. Blaine had said that this was his ability and that was bordering on mind-blowing.
He turned his head up to meet Blaine's eyes that were half closed but opened when he felt Kurt move.
“Hi,” Kurt breathed.
“Hi.” Blaine smiled a little but it was strained. Kurt couldn't remember seeing Blaine this tense ever since Kurt's turning. Blaine had been so happy and relaxed the last few days but now he looked worn out and Kurt's worry only increased when he saw that Blaine's eyes were darker than usual.
“What's wrong?”
Blaine looked at him as if Kurt was entirely oblivious, but there was still a smile on his lips. “Isn't it obvious? I haven't fed in five days. I've been with you the entire time and I was too distracted to think about feeding myself.”
“You're hungry.” Kurt stated carefully and felt guilty for keeping Blaine from feeding. He hated seeing Blaine hurting and now it was his fault. “I'm sorry, Blaine, I didn't mean to—”
“Kurt, I'm going to tell you this one last time; stop apologizing for things that are not your fault. You are new to this and I know that most things seem confusing but that's why I totally understand that you need help. Help that I am willing to offer you. Yes, I might have forgotten to look after myself but in what way is that your fault?” He gently pushed a strand of hair out of Kurt's forehead. “Besides, I already sent Damien to, um, you know, get me someone to feed on. He also went grocery shopping for Graham.” Blaine added that with a grin.
“Why can't you just feed from Graham like I do?”
“That would be too much for him. If we both fed from him, he would be dead within a couple of days, because whereas our blood heals his wounds, it doesn't replenish the lost blood in his body.” Blaine pushed Kurt up a little, so that he would sit up and Kurt did. Then Blaine cleared his throat. “So, I guess, I should prepare you for what's coming.”
“What do you mean?”
“You won't like it. You won't like it at all.”
Kurt was confused. “Won't like what?”
“You won't like me feeding off anyone else. That's what the sire bond does. For whatever reason, a newborn vampire doesn't want its sire to feed. You will want to stop me, to pull me off of my prey and kill it. That's why sometimes a vampire doesn't survive siring another one, because they don't get the chance to feed.” Blaine looked away as he finished explaining.
“Then what are we going to do about that? We can't just have you starving yourself because of me. Why didn't you tell me about this before?” Kurt exclaimed.
“I thought we'd rather cross that bridge when we got there.”
“Well, here we are. What are we going to do about it?”
“Damien already agreed to help. He will hold you back. Everything's going to be fine and it will stop as soon as the sire bond fades.” Blaine's voice was still as quiet as when they had started the sort of argument and Kurt presumed it was because Blaine had to keep himself in check. If he got angry he could lose it.
“When does it fade? Damien still felt connected to Sebastian after all those years.”
“That's the only thing that doesn't stop. For now the sire bond has a couple of effects on our relationship: you wanting to obey me, you not being able to control yourself without me being around most of the time, your strong distaste in letting me feed from someone and the fact that I will feel a great loss if you should die and vice versa. All these things will fade in a couple of weeks, except for the last one.”
Kurt was quiet for a couple of minutes and Blaine let him be. He knew he should have told Kurt about this earlier but if he was honest, he had really forgotten about this. He had also forgotten to feed, which was just weird, seeing as usually the thought of blood was always in the back of his mind; it had been ever since he had been turned and it wasn't going to disappear just like that.
“You know what?” Kurt said suddenly and Blaine raised an eyebrow. “I'm hungry for real food. I also miss cooking.”
“Well, Damien is bringing some groceries but if you want to we could get started on making dinner. What do you feel like eating?”
“Hm, what about risotto? Do you like risotto?”
“I'd eat anything you cook.” Blaine smiled as Kurt rolled his eyes at Blaine's answer. “Don't worry, Risotto will be fine. I think there's rice left in the kitchen and some vegetables. You'll find everything you need. Come on, I'll race you to the kitchen.”
And with that Blaine jumped up and almost blurred before Kurt's eyes. However, he was just as fast as he climbed over the back of the couch as a shortcut to the door. He pushed Blaine out of the way as he bolted into the hallway but Blaine caught up again and leaped over Kurt's head as he ran. Although it seemed like he had all the time in the world, Kurt knew that all of this had barely taken two seconds and he laughed out of pure excitement as he crashed into Blaine and they both tumbled into the kitchen.
They stayed lying on the ground for a few seconds, both laughing a little. “Mr. Hummel, may I ask what you're trying to achieve by lying on top of me?”
“Maybe I was hoping to convince you to have a threesome.”
Blaine stopped laughing. “Who would be the third person?”
“See, that's a trick question, because as soon as I answer, you'll get all possessive.”
“I have every reason to because you are mine.” Blaine said and turned them around so he was on top of Kurt. His hand was pressing on the spot over Kurt's heart where he knew Kurt's mark was.
Kurt's eyes sparkled as he looked up at Blaine. “And you're mine, which is why I would never propose a threesome.” He captured Blaine's lips in a soft kiss that had both of them forget the position they were currently in. Neither of them noticed Graham walking into the room.
“Whoa, okay, sorry. I'll leave you to that. Sorry for interrupting.”
Blaine was standing before Graham could take a step outside the kitchen again. “No, don't leave. We're sorry. Please stay, we were about to make some dinner.”
“Great, I was about to do the same. Are you going to eat with me then? I didn't know you guys ate at all.” Graham walked over to where Kurt got up from the ground, not noticing how Kurt's eyes roamed over his neck area. Kurt, however, quickly stopped himself and suddenly stood behind Blaine, holding his hand, fearing that he might lose it. Blaine smiled at him over his shoulder and pressed another kiss to Kurt's lips.
“I'm so proud of how you keep doing that.” He whispered. “I constantly think that I'm going to have to pull you off of him any second but you always stop yourself. I could never have restrained myself as much as you can.”
Kurt smiled at little but he didn't answer as his eyes flickered back to Graham who opened a couple of cupboards to see what was inside them. He didn't feel like he had a lot of control over himself. It might seem like that to Blaine but he didn't feel like that at all. Otherwise he wouldn't constantly have to stop himself, right?
“So, what did you think we could have for dinner?” Graham asked. “'Cause there's not a lot of food left.”
“Kurt was going to make Risotto. He's quite the cook, I'll have you know.”
“You cook almost better than me.” Kurt argued. “You saw Finn when you made Christmas breakfast. He never praised my pancakes like that.”
“Pancakes and Risotto are two entirely different things.” Blaine said with a dismissive hang gesture. “I can't really cook. I just pretend.”
“Yeah, right.” Kurt grumbled and Graham laughed at their little quarrel.
Kurt opened the fridge and pulled out some vegetables from the bottom drawer. He then turned to Graham. “Do you mind cutting these up into small cubes?”
“Yeah, sure. Give them here.”
“I'll start boiling the rice as soon as I find it.” Kurt said and turned only to have Blaine hold up the box of rice right before his eyes. “Thanks.” Kurt said and then muttered, “Showoff.”
“I heard that.”
“You were supposed to.” Kurt sang and Blaine laughed.
“I'm not needed then, am I?” Blaine asked and leaned against the counter next to Kurt.
“No, you just stand there and look pretty, so we can admire your beauty.”
Graham snorted. “No, thanks. I don't feel like admiring you, Blaine. Sorry.”
Blaine just shrugged with a smile and Kurt scowled at Graham, saying “More for me, then,” which only made Blaine laugh.
When Damien returned, the first thing Blaine noticed was the heartbeat in the backseat of the car. He hadn't noticed how hungry he really was until now but seeing as he had gone about five days without blood, it was to be expected.
He turned to look at Kurt to see whether he had heard the car but apparently he hadn't, too focused on the cooking and on ignoring the temptation that was Graham not three meters away from him. He was considering not telling Kurt that Damien was back but if he left the room, Kurt would notice.
Blaine didn't want Kurt to watch him, didn't want him to have to deal with the need to rip Blaine off of his prey but he had to get him used to it. After all, it was not going to stop for at least a few weeks, not until Kurt had himself under control and the sire bond between them would fade.
So Blaine gently laid a hand on Kurt's shoulder and leaned towards his ear. “Damien is here. Take a break and come with me.”
“What about Graham?” Kurt asked loud enough for Graham to look up from chopping the vegetables.
“What about me?”
Blaine bit his lip but didn't look at Graham. He couldn't have him watch this, too. There was no way the human would look at him the same way after seeing him kill someone. Not to mention Kurt, who would probably completely lose it at the sight of him feeding. No, Graham could not watch.
“Graham, would you mind going upstairs again until we call you down for dinner?”
Graham put the knife down and slowly got up. “I guess. May I ask what you're up to?”
“Maybe it's better if you not know.”
Graham didn't seem convinced, but he nodded and turned to leave. However, he stopped and looked back at Blaine. “You know, I don't mean to cross a line here but I feel like I have the right to know. I mean, I know I'm in no position to give orders but I am the one providing Kurt with blood and I thought that this deal we have makes us... I don't know. I thought it made us friends. And it might sound crazy but I think if I am supposed to live with you in this house—not to mention that you guys are vampires and you pulled me into all of this supernatural stuff—I want to know what's going on. Especially if it's something that you think I can't deal with. Because I know that look you gave me. That's the exact same look my parents gave me whenever they talked about their upcoming divorce. That look says 'you can't deal with it, so you are better off not knowing.’”
As soon as Graham was done, he shrank back. Not because Blaine looked mad but simply because he felt like he shouldn't have said something like that. He was about to apologize but Blaine suddenly gave him a small nod.
“You're right. You have a right to know.” He cleared his throat a little. “It's just that Damien is back and he brought me someone to feed from. I don't want you to watch that, though, because I have had the experience that it's not exactly the best idea to have a human watch as you kill someone, alright? I'm sorry that I assumed you couldn't deal with it, Graham, but this is really not something you should see. Also because, Kurt might lose it and I don't want you to get hurt.”
Graham swallowed. “I'm sorry I asked.”
“Don't be. You really have the right to know and we are friends.” Blaine tried to give Graham a smile. He already felt his mind drifting from rational thoughts and he couldn't concentrate enough to give Graham his attention anymore, because Damien had now reached the front door and the human was with him. The heartbeat grew louder and louder in Blaine's ears and it took all his restraint to keep himself from running towards the door. “Come on. Let's get this over with.”
Blaine put his hand on the small of Graham's back and led him towards the door, Kurt following behind them. Just as they entered the hall, the entrance door swung open and Damien appeared, grocery bags in one hand and right behind him, hands tied with a rope that Damien held on to, was a young man. Blaine had to close his eyes for a second, the proximity of Graham and that guy made him want to attack instantly. He could feel how tense Kurt was and also felt Graham suck in a breath as he stopped walking abruptly.
The man behind Damien stopped pulling on the rope and trying to escape when his eyes fell on Graham. “Graham?” The surprise was obvious in his voice and Blaine quickly realized what this meant; Graham knew that guy. Graham knew the guy he was about to kill.
“Graham, what are you doing here? People are looking for you all over town. Who are these people? And why the fuck did that one kidnap me?” With a grunt he pulled on the rope again but Damien didn't even acknowledge his attempt at freeing himself.
“You know him?” Blaine hissed into Graham's ear and Graham nodded hesitantly, his eyes fixed on the man thrashing against Damien's hold.
“I know him, yes, but he’s not exactly a friend. He beat me up throughout all of Middle School.”
Kurt growled, quite loudly at that, the hate of his own former bullies bubbling up. Damien was watching the whole scene with mild interest.
“And here I thought I was doing you a favor bringing you an O-negative.” He grinned at Blaine who rolled his eyes and turned to Graham, who finally looked away from the other man and into Blaine's eyes instead.
“You don't want to watch this, trust me. Especially not, if you know this guy.”
“Are you going to—?”
“Yes, I will kill him and I'm sorry that you know him but that was bad luck. I can't let him leave. He has seen you and he has seen us. I can't trust him with a secret like ours.” Blaine hissed and Graham shivered as the color in Blaine's eyes slowly faded to black. He nodded and didn't protest when Blaine led him to the staircase. He walked up the stairs alone, looking back at the man standing at the door, who stared up at him in confusion.
“You're not gonna leave me here with this psycho, are you? Come on, I'm your friend, man!”
For a second Graham stopped. “I'm sorry, Jack, but he's my friend. You're nowhere close to that.”
He didn't look back again as Jack called after him. “What the hell are you talking about, scumbag?”
Damien hit him in the back of the head as he said that. “You don't talk to him like that!”
As soon as Blaine was sure Graham had closed his door upstairs, he turned back around and fixed his gaze on Jack. “Untie him.”
Damien did and Jack rubbed his wrists as he stepped away quickly and reached out to open the door. However, his hand was gripped tightly by Blaine who suddenly appeared between him and the door. “How did you—?” He began but Blaine interrupted him.
“So, Jack,” Blaine began and sounded like he was making casual conversation. “Care to tell me what you did to Graham in Middle School?”
“Let go of me, you lunatic!”
“Not if you don't answer my question.” Blaine stated calmly.
“I pushed him around a couple of times. It was nothing. He got used to it.”
“No one should ever get used to something like that.” Kurt said, a growl ever present behind his words.
Jack ignored him, though, and instead tried to pull his wrist out of Blaine's grip. “Let go already! I answered your stupid question.”
“I don't think you're in any position to tell me what to do. You see,” Blaine let go of him and pushed him further into the room. “I am very protective of my friends and even though I’ve known Graham for roughly two days, he has shown me a lot of compassion and I know how much he deserves in return. So, you can imagine how I would react to hearing that you didn't treat Graham the way he deserves it.” Blaine slowly came closer to Jack, who backed away when he noticed the unnatural color of Blaine's eyes. “Now, do you have anything to say in your defense?”
“You can't put me on some kind of trial. I don't even know you.”
“I can do whatever I want with you because you won't leave this place again. Consider it karma for being such an asshole to other people.” Blaine looked over to Damien and nodded over to Kurt. “Hold him back.” And then Blaine surged forward, knocking the man down with such force that his head hit the floor as he fell. Damien was on the other side of the room just as fast, holding Kurt's arms behind his back and Kurt let it happen. He didn't want to keep Blaine from feeding but he could already feel it coming, a feeling of jealousy or maybe hate on Jack. It just felt wrong, so wrong. Blaine, you chose me not him!
Kurt began to struggle just as Blaine leaned down to Jack's neck, his fangs lengthening before he sank them into the soft skin at Jack's pulse point.
The man screamed loudly and it hurt Blaine's ears but as soon as the first drop of blood hit his tongue, he couldn't think straight anymore. With one hand he covered Jack's mouth and pushed his head to the side at the same time to expose his neck further. He then pulled back only to bite down again, tearing the flesh open until the blood poured out of his neck.
Damien had started fighting with Kurt by now, who was actively trying to rip his arm off to finally free himself but Damien still had the upper hand. However, he was hoping that Blaine would hurry up because, holy hell, Kurt was positively vicious and he didn't want to hold on to him for very much longer.
Suddenly a movement on the top of the stairs caught his eye. Graham sat there, one hand covering his mouth as he almost sobbed. Damien sighed internally as he kept struggling to hold on to Kurt. Why would that kid decide that watching someone get killed was a good idea?
Jack screamed out one last time before he went unconscious, but Blaine kept drinking, even as the heartbeat got slower and slower. When it finally stopped, Blaine lifted his head and wiped a hand over his mouth that was dripping with blood. He had a little on his chin, too, but all in all he was not as messy as Kurt.
Damien finally let go of Kurt who was in Blaine's arms moments later, not even caring about the state his boyfriend was in. “I'm sorry, Kurt. I'm so sorry.” Blaine looked at Damien over Kurt's shoulder, who nodded towards the top of the stairs where Graham was still sitting.
“Oh, no. Graham, no.” Blaine whispered and let go of Kurt who turned around to see what was wrong. He spotted Graham on top of the stairs and cringed when he realized that he had been watching.
Blaine was upstairs in the blink of an eye and sat down next to Graham, which was not the smartest idea, because Graham flinched and tried to get away from Blaine as fast as possible. “No, Graham, please. Please, don't run. I'm sorry.” He held on to Graham's hand to keep him from running but he knew he was scaring him. Hell, he had blood on his face, for god's sake, because he had just killed a person. And even though Jack hadn't been Graham's friend, he knew him and that was enough.
“Let me go.” Graham whispered, his voice broken and on the verge of tears.
Blaine let go but Graham didn't run. “I don't want you to be afraid, Graham, please. I don't want you to see me any different. This is just what I am and I'm sorry. I didn't want you to see this.”
“And you told me. You said, I wouldn't want to see it and I was stupid enough to watch anyway.” Graham couldn't look at Blaine. “Is he dead?”
“Yes.” Blaine said without hesitation. “Yes, he's dead.”
Graham squeezed his eyes shut for a second. “I don't blame you. I don't. I'm just—I'm scared, Blaine. I'm scared that next time, you won't stop Kurt from killing me. I'm scared of the nightmares. I'm scared to die.”
“I'd rather die myself than watch you die, Graham.”
“Can I ask you something?” Graham glanced at Blaine but looked away again quickly.
Blaine nodded. “Of course you can.”
“How dangerous are you really? To me you seem like you pretend to be this very nice guy that wants nothing more than to fit in despite his condition but when no one looks at you, you turn into this... this cold, emotionless person that knows no mercy or sympathy. It's like someone hurt you so deep inside that it changed you and turned you into this.”
Blaine could hear both Damien and Kurt suck in a breath at Graham's words. They probably thought he was hurt by what he had said; they thought that he would get mad. But that wasn't the case. What Graham had just described was exactly how he felt sometimes. He always felt like he playing this person that had long ago died when he had been turned. Only Kurt could make him feel like he was still there, like Blaine still existed. He had never admitted this to anyone. He had never told Damien because he thought that he simply wouldn't understand. Damien had been turned a vampire by choice just like Kurt. Blaine hadn't. They didn't know what it felt like to get something like humanity taken away from you against your will.
Until he had met Kurt, Blaine had always felt like he was no longer the person that he had been, when he had still been human. That boy had died that night in 1767.
Now it wasn't Graham anymore that couldn't look at Blaine but the other way around. His answer was quiet but still felt like a stone that Blaine had carried around all his life. “I am more dangerous than I ever wanted to be.”
_________
Kurt had brought Graham back to the kitchen where they finished dinner together while Blaine got rid of the body of Jack. Graham seemed a bit uneasy staying alone in the kitchen with Kurt, so Damien had stayed there with them.
When they were done cooking and had everything set up in the dining room, Kurt called for Blaine but he didn't come. He tried to listen to all the noises in the house to figure out where Blaine was but Damien put a hand on his shoulder, whispering in his ear that Blaine was in the basement and that they should better leave him alone for a little bit.
Kurt felt like crying. Everything was falling to shit again, even though it was supposed to be okay now. Everything was supposed to work out after leaving Dalton but it wasn't exactly turning out like they had planned it, was it?
They ate dinner in silence. Without Blaine. Damien complimented them on the food but both Graham and Kurt only nodded absently. Even Damien seemed worried, especially when he and Kurt could hear several loud crashes from downstairs. Kurt was tempted to just run down there to talk to Blaine or to maybe just hold him in his arms but Damien slightly shook his head when Kurt looked up at him.
“He will come back. He just needs some time.”
Somehow that wasn't very reassuring for Kurt. He just wanted Blaine. He wanted to feel the same way again that they had when they were together happily at Dalton; when they were just boyfriends that didn't have to deal with any of this.
Graham cleared his throat. “Did I hurt him?”
Damien quickly shook his head. “No. No, you didn't. He just—he has had some struggles with accepting what he is. He doesn't want to be like this and most of the time he hates what he turned into. You just hit a little bit of a soft spot. He'll be fine. He's probably angrier at himself that you had to see him like that.”
“It was my own fault.”
“He doesn't see it like that.” Kurt said quietly. “That's just how he is.”
“I'm gonna go upstairs, if that's okay with you.”
Damien and Kurt nodded and Graham stood up and left the room. Neither of them kept eating after that, both lost in their thoughts, the food forgotten. It was getting darker by the second inside the room as the summer sun finally set but they barely noticed. It wasn't dark to them anyways.
“Forgive me for missing dinner and try out the chocolate with me?”
Blaine was standing in the door, leaning against the frame, his eyes tired and distant but one corner of his mouth lifted into a smile as he held up the chocolate bars that Damien had bought.
Kurt was in front of Blaine immediately and embraced him tightly. Blaine returned the hug and gently rubbed Kurt's back. “I'm sorry, love, I'm sorry. Don't worry about me. I'm fine.”
“You know, you can talk to me. Anytime, Blaine. I'm always here. You don't have to go through this alone.” Kurt whispered.
“I know, Kurt. I know.”
Damien walked past them and clapped Blaine on the shoulder. “I'm here, too. Don't forget that.”
“I'm overreacting. I know I am. I should be able to deal with it and most of the time I do but it just got too much back there.” Blaine said.
“We'll fix that.” Damien answered and then snatched the chocolate from Blaine. “After a few pieces of chocolate you'll be fine.” He grinned widely before leaving the dining room through the two-winged door into the living room.
“Idiot.” Blaine muttered. “Come on, we don't want to keep him waiting.” Blaine took Kurt's hand and led him towards the couch. Damien had already opened one chocolate bar and broken it into small pieces. When Kurt sat down, he threw a piece over to him that Kurt caught, slightly surprised by his reflexes.
He looked down at the piece of dark chocolate in his hand, slightly weirded out by the fact that he could feel the bottom of it melting in the warmth of his hand. The fact that Damien and Blaine were staring at him and the piece of chocolate expectantly didn't help.
“What is it about this piece of chocolate that makes you think something extraordinary will happen when I eat it?” Kurt asked hesitantly and he flicked his eyes up at the two older vampires for a second, expecting an answer. However, Damien shook his head.
“Where would be the fun in telling you? Just eat it.”
“Blaine, is he trying to poison me?” Kurt deadpanned.
“No, love, he is certainly not. It's just a simple, normal piece of chocolate that we would like you to try because we know you'll like it. It may cause some side effects but it won't harm you in any way.” Blaine nodded for Kurt to eat it and Kurt lifted his hand to his mouth with a small sigh.
The second it touched Kurt's tongue the taste exploded in his mouth, amazingly sweet and the chocolate flavor was overwhelming. “Oh my god, what is this?” Kurt closed his eyes as he swallowed the chocolate and then stared at Blaine and Damien. “This is the best chocolate I have ever had. Literally.”
“The chocolate is just like any other piece of chocolate you have had before. It's only your taste buds that have changed.” Blaine explained with an amused smile on his lips. “Tastes quite good, doesn't it?” Kurt nodded quickly at that. “Do you feel any different?” Blaine asked then and Damien looked like he was about to fall from his chair from the excitement of watching Kurt.
The young vampire shook his head. “Why would I feel different?”
“Like I said, side effects might happen.” Blaine grinned over at Damien. “Chocolate contains so much sugar that it causes our hormones to react in certain ways, causing our bodies to behave unnaturally. It's probably not just the sugar that causes it but we don't know what does.”
“Yeah,” Damien agreed, “if it was the sugar, we'd have the same reaction to other foods, too, but for whatever reason we don't. Blaine, for example, can't eat chocolate in public because it causes him to shake uncontrollably. He vibrates so fast that it almost looks like he's invisible. He barely notices it, he says, but everyone else would know that something's wrong with him.” He pushed his elbow into Blaine's side playfully. “I, on the other hand, simply fall asleep. Like instantly. So, I barely ever eat any chocolate.”
“Yeah, 'cause it's really hard to wake him up again.” Blaine laughed.
Kurt suddenly looked worried. “But how do we know what will happen to me now? Why didn't you tell me about this before I ate it?”
“Because it won't hurt you. It'll be fine. I just wanted to have some fun.” Damien pouted at Kurt. “Don't you want me to have fun?”
“I swear you act like a four-year-old!”
“Four hundred is more like it.” Damien smirked when Kurt gaped at him and then looked at Blaine with disbelief, who simply shrugged.
“I told you he's old.”
“But you didn't exactly tell me how old.” Kurt huffed and glanced back at Damien. “Don't take it personally but I really didn't expect you to be this old.”
“Eternity is coming up for all of us, Kurt. For you, too. And it's lonely, believe me, so stay with him.” He jerked his head into Blaine's direction who looked down at his hand and Kurt had a feeling that he knew exactly how Blaine thought about this. Blaine hated himself for pulling Kurt into all of this but Kurt could never blame him. Hell, he couldn't even be angry that Blaine was a vampire because if he wasn't, Blaine would have died two hundred years before Kurt would have been born. And Kurt would always choose this rather than not knowing Blaine at all.
“Um, okay, is anything gonna happen to me now because of the chocolate or not?” Kurt asked in an attempt to change the subject. Talking about eternity was somewhat a mood killer.
“No, I doubt anything will still happen. It just doesn't have any effects on you or they're not visible.” Blaine muttered. “But at least it tasted good, didn't it?”
“Yeah, it really did. I might need some more because, holy shit, that stuff is addicting. I might just put chocolate on the list of my favorite foods, right underneath the cheesecake.”
“I'll make you a cheesecake soon.” Blaine smiled at him and threw another piece of chocolate towards Kurt, who caught it with his mouth, closing his eyes again as the taste spread on his tongue. “You know, Kurt, I don't want to get your hopes up but we might leave this place faster than I thought we would.” Blaine smiled when Kurt looked up at him in surprise. “The control you have over yourself is amazing and I never thought you would be this good at being a vampire. Now, it's still gonna take some time until we can leave but it will be earlier than planned.”
“I don't feel ready, yet, anyway.”
“Me neither, believe me. Not with everything that's happening to me.” Blaine got up and reached behind the couch, coming up again with a tall bottle of Devil Springs Vodka.
“What do you plan on doing with that?” Kurt asked slightly terrified.
“Oh, I think I know exactly what he's planning on doing with that.” Damien grinned.
Blaine smiled back at him devilishly. “Oh, yes. We are going to get me hammered and see whether we can get me to lose control.”
“Do you really think that's a good idea?” Kurt got up from the couch to take a closer look at the bottle of vodka.
“Let me tell you something, Kurt.” Damien said and laid an arm around Kurt's shoulders. “Nothing involving a vampire and alcohol is ever going to be a good idea.”
