Author's Notes:

So a few days ago I was contacted by the ever lovely Monica (Purple Pen)and she offered to write a sort of summary of the ending because she had a really good idea of where it could go. And Monica if you're reading this, thank you so incredibly much. And to all of you who are reading this, I can't tell you how much that means to me. The fact that you all kept reading after that first chapter just astounds me and I'm so thankful for that. I'll cherish it for a life time.

Blaine stays at Burt & Carole's house.  Both boys get more consistent sleep than they have in a long time.  The Andersons are terribly upset and bewildered about what to do. The following weekend, Cooper comes home for a visit and gets an earful about how Blaine has abandoned them while they stood by their son in his time of need.

Even though his body has healed, Blaine is 'diagnosed' by his cousin Kendra as still suffering from severe emotional trauma. If Kurt is seeing a therapist, Blaine needs psychological care as well. Kendra gets Cooper to confront his parents and persuade them to fund regular therapy for Blaine, which they do.  As time passes, Blaine and his parents make amends, but he still stays at Kurt's house.

Per the therapist, Blaine's parents weren't necessarily bad in keeping his early recovery low key, but his long term recovery will be much better if he has a large support system which includes Kurt and family.  When Blaine recalls bits and pieces of his memory, one fact that helps him feel good about himself is that he was trying to protect Kurt.  His therapist gets him to focus on that.  Blaine's psychological makeup makes him more vulnerable, as was exhibited by his trigger reaction to Finn.

Blaine's parents finally truly accept Kurt and his family as the best way to insure a more normal life for Blaine.

Kurt continues to improve physically.  While the memory of the attack will never go away, he gradually is able to move without pain. He also goes back to taking care of his skin and hair.  One day he starts singing in the shower, purely by reflex.  Blaine hears him, goes in the bathroom and starts to harmonize.  Kurt stops singing and says 'omigosh' and both boys cry happy tears that Kurt's voice has come back.

The boys reconnect with their Dalton and McKinley friends. While their friends don't babysit them, there always seems to be someone to go with them when they want to go out in the evening.  It goes a long way to helping them adjust to a normal life.

Blaine gets his GED and finishes high school.  Both boys go to college. Yada yada yada...

Fast forward to the future, Kurt and Blaine get married and sing this duet at their wedding: "When You Find Me" Written by Joshua Radin and Kevin Griffin.

And they lived happily ever after... The End
