Dear Journal,
Blaine and I have made up after our fight.
I had just finished writing my last entry when I heard loud music coming from outside. I opened the curtains and there he stood. My Knight in dim street lights, holding a boombox over his head and singing Perfect.
I have never had anyone make such an overt declaration of affection to me, Blaine’s first serenade notwithstanding, and for a moment I just stood there, dumbfounded. I could see some porch lights going on down the street though, so I rushed downstairs to pull Blaine into the house and out of sight of the neighbours. I’m glad that Dad knew what was going on, because he didn’t make a fuss about us going up to my room, even though it was getting a bit late.
As it turned out, Blaine was feeling just as shitty as I was and while I had my dad to talk things over with, he was sitting in an empty house with just his thoughts for company. We’ve managed to discuss the fight, how it escalated and why, and I’m glad we can put that bit of it behind us at least. I did mention to him about what Dad had said about healthy communication, and we both agree that we need to pay more attention to that.
This may be the first real relationship for either of us, but I really do feel like what we have can last a lifetime if we take care of it properly, and I’m glad Blaine agrees with me on that. I can’t imagine ever not loving Blaine. He is so perfect for me and if loving him forever means that I have to learn to be vulnerable and share my insecurities with him, and let him share his with me, then so be it. What we have is beautiful and I will always fight for it.
