"Sweetheart, look at me."
With tears filling his eyes, he stopped his nervous pacing across the hospital's waiting room and looked at his husband.
"I know you are scared. It has been a bumpy road and we were running out of time. But you have to try to stay positive. You have got to have faith. The new heart is here and it is a good one. They are operating on him as we speak."
With a deep sigh, he wrapped his husband in a hug and kissed him gently.
"This is it. Your dad is going to be okay."
