The next few days were dedicated to trying to Blaine trying to get Kurt to notice him. Anytime Blaine saw him in the hallway, he was greeted with a chipper hello and a cheerful smile. Kurt spared him a forced smile and a brief hello, for Rachel’s sake. He couldn’t allow himself to be seen with someone like Blaine. It would ruin his hard-earned social status at the top of the McKinley food chain. Flanked by his Cheerios, Brittany, Santana and Quinn, no one ever messed with him, aside from Blaine. It was that Friday that Kurt finally confronted him.
When Blaine waved at Kurt, he grabbed the smaller boy by the arm and yanked him into the next hallway.
”Blaine, in the nicest way possible, I can not be seen talking to you or around you! It will ruin me, and I’ve worked too damn hard to get on top. I’m sorry, but you need to stop this. Yes, it may seem like a harmless hello, but people will start to think I’ve gone soft, and I will not have that,” Kurt whispered harshly. His cerulean blue eyes were bright with emotion and slight irritation.
Kurt dashed back to the main hallway, and Blaine watched the heel of his Alexander McQueen boots disappear around the corner. He slumped against the locker as a heavy sigh escaped him.
Well, Blaine thought to himself, I guess I’ll just have to work hard to impress Kurt, and maybe work on my ‘social status’.
A passing airhead in a letterman jacket launched a red slushie in Blaine’s face as he walked by, without a second glance.
Yeah, definitely work on the social status thing.

When Blaine went home that night, he locked himself in his room, and went into his bathroom. He stared at his reflection for a bit, analyzing what he saw looking back at him.
A mess of thick, dark curls lay atop his head, while hazel eyes shined back at him through thick-rimmed glasses. A hint of stubble marred his clear skin, and a perfectly white set of teeth lay behind his full lips. He ran a lazy hand through his hair, and the curls bounced back into place. Altogether, he couldn’t really find anything wrong in his reflection. So the only reason he could think of as to why he had never had a boyfriend or had anyone remotely interested in him was the whole ‘geek’ thing. Blaine lain down on his bed and stared up at the ceiling.
Maybe it’s just me as a whole that is just completely undesirable. Just because I’m smart doesn’t make me any less of a person…

That night found Kurt and Rachel in her bedroom at the Anderson-Berry residence. The pair had their textbooks and notebooks spread out around them as they lain on the bed.
”Kurt, you’re going to have to get some kind of help in Algebra. If you don’t raise your grade, and get at least a C minus, Sylvester wil-“ Kurt cut Rachel off.
”I know, Rachel! Believe me, I know. I just hate asking people for help, you know how I am. I don’t need anyone to help me. I just need to pay attention more, or something,” Kurt sighed heavily.
”I can find you a tutor, Kurt, one that will do it for free, and won’t mention it to anyone. You know, Blaine is kind of a genius when it comes to this kind of stuff. He would help you Kurt….” Rachel said to her best friend.
”Yeah…. I guess so. I’m gonna finish my moisturizing regime, then I’ll go talk to him, I suppose.
Kurt put on his D&G pajama pants and an old t-shirt, one that just so happened to hug his torso in all the right places. After rinsing off his face, he walked to Blaine’s room and knocked on the door softly, his eyes on the floor.
After a few seconds, and the sound of feet of the padded carpet on the other side of the door, it opened to reveal Blaine also in his pajamas, although his pajamas only consisted of a pair of sweatpants. Kurt’s eyes trailed up from the floor, his eyes widening the slightest bit at Blaine’s defined stomach. Water droplets slowly swirled around the thick curls of his hair and dropped on to his shoulders. They seemed to tease Kurt as they ran slowly onto his chest and torso, and drew attention to the planes of his abs. Suddenly Blaine wasn’t so nerdy to him, it was just the glasses now that gave away any hint of his usual guise.
”Oh, hey Kurt,” Blaine greeted him with a soft, timid smile, “Did you need something?”
Blaine pushed the door open wider to allow Kurt in, and then sat on his bed, while Kurt remained standing. “Alright, what’s up?” Blaine asked cheerfully.
Kurt bit his bottom lip lightly, before finding the courage to swallow his pride and ask for a favor. “Well… I need some help in Algebra, and I was kind of hoping you could….tutor me?”
Blaine’s eyes lit up, “Of course, Kurt! When would you want to start? I’m free nearly any time…” his voice trailed off.
”I have glee club practice after school til 3:15, then Cheerio practice til 5, so it would have to be after then. Weekends would be even better,” Kurt replied.
”Well, considering you’re here nearly every weekend, that would be fine,” Blaine said with a light laugh.
Kurt hugged Blaine lightly and bounced on his toes once he released him. “Thank you so much, Blaine!
Blaine’s heart soared when Kurt embraced him, and he hugged Kurt back as well, “It’s my pleasure.”
Kurt smiled, “Listen, about earlier today… Blaine, I hope you understa-“
Blaine smiled solemnly, and it didn’t reach his eyes, “Don’t worry about it… I’m used to that kind of treatment by now. It’s nothing new to me.”
Kurt opened his mouth to say more, but then turned away and left Blaine’s room without another word, and shut the door.
